A Frontline Soldier Awakened as a Gamer In The War! - FSAGW Chapter 103 (Part 1)
When Viscount Karian looked at Kaiyan with a curious expression as if wondering what his method was, Someone spoke up.
“Hey! We are the Armis Knights! Where is Count Armis?”
After breaking through over a few thousand soldiers, the Knights had finally arrived, and the knight leading the way turned to Karian, asking for the whereabouts of Count Armis. In response, Viscount Karian, with a slightly bitter expression, raised his hand and pointed to Count Armis, who was lying in a corner.
“How impudent. I am a noble with the title of Viscount. If you are looking for Count Armis, he is right there. Verify it.”
His demeanor was noticeably different from when they had conversed earlier through the communication device. The voice was imposing, chilling, and calculated, enough to make the listeners tense.
In response to Karian’s words, the person who appeared to be the head of the Knights hesitated, lowering his head in a hurry.
“I-I’m sorry. I never expected to see Viscount here. Forgive my rudeness, but our lineage…”
“…Until this morning, it might have been the Armis lineage, but from now on, it’s the Karian lineage.”
Karian replied with a somewhat bitter expression to the knight’s question.
Indeed, not only had he betrayed Armis, but he had also cut off Armis’ arm. There was no way they could remain in the same lineage.
“Oh! I’ve heard the story already. The one who commanded the heavy infantry was Viscount Karian.”
“I know, thankfully. Instead of discussing it here, verify Count Armis. I cut off one of his arms, so he needs immediate treatment.”
“Yes? Ah! Understood!”
Only then did the knights who had grabbed one of Armis’s arms and found him lying on the ground with cold sweat rushing over to him.
“Uh, uh! His condition doesn’t look good.”
“Potion! Quickly, bring a potion!”
Seeing the desperate knights, Kaiyan felt a twinge of guilt. They were probably the ones who had suffered the most on this battlefield, and now they were forced to endure this additional hardship due to Karian’s antics.
Turning his head to look at Karian, he saw him wearing a relaxed expression, humming as if it were someone else’s business.
“…Seeing him like this, he’s definitely Vyarolf’s father.”
It made sense why Vyarolf had grown up that way under such a father.
While observing him and pointing his head at no one in particular, Kaiyan opened his dimension and brought Rieka out.
[Kaiyan, is it over?]
“Yeah, we captured Count Armis.”
[Oh! Kaiyan, it seems like you leveled up and gained quite a few G points while I was gone. There must have been a reason for you to leave me behind!]
Rieka’s words had a slightly thorny tone, and Kaiyan was momentarily at a loss for words.
“Well, it’s just how it is.”
[Please be more careful next time!]
“Sure, next time I’ll definitely think of Rieka first.”
Finally, after her anger seemed to have subsided, Rieka leaped high and returned to Kaiyan’s chest.
[So, are we going to go to Vantigas now?]
“No, first, we have to ensure that the Armis and Kamdia families don’t interfere with the Markain family. If I just leave, Linda, who has no one to help her, will suffer.”
[If it’s Kamdia… the Grand Duke behind Count Armis, right? Do you have a plan?]
“That’s… well…”
In a small meeting room within the Markain Mansion, Linda, the Lord of Markain, Kaiyan, Viscount Vyraxar, and Viscount Karian were gathered.
“Hey, did you say your name is Kaiyan?”
Vyraxar, who seemed to be in a good mood, perhaps because Kaiyan had given Armis a beating earlier, called him.
“Yes, Viscount Vyraxar.”
“Right, and you claimed to have planned this entire operation?”
“Not exactly. It was a result of discussions between Lord Linda and me.”
“Is that so? Hm…”
Vyraxar’s expression, as if he knew everything and wondered why Kaiyan was lying, felt burdensome.
“Alright, but what’s the plan now? I participated with the intention of giving Armis a lesson, so it doesn’t matter to me… but these two families might pose a problem in the future. Armis’s family is compromised, with Viscount Armis captured, and Viscount Karian’s son, Vyarolf, is a witness. Do you have a solution?”
Vyraxar is right.
Kaiyan plans to negotiate with the Armis family through Count Armis. As for Vyarolf and the surviving assassins, He will deal with them when the Imperial Investigation Unit arrives. If that happens, the Armis family will have to tread carefully and won’t dare to do anything against the Markain family anymore.
On the contrary, to resolve this matter on Armis’ side, a significant sum will have to be paid to the Markain family.
However, even if Armis is dealt with, there’s still the problem of Duke Kamdia.
“There is a solution, but…”
Kaiyan trailed off, capturing the attention of the three nobles.
“It can be resolved more easily if all three of you cooperate, especially Viscount Vyraxar.”
Upon hearing my words, Linda and Viscount Karian nodded as if it were obvious, but Viscount Vyraxar merely grumbled.
“Mmm… I feel like I got caught up in a troublesome situation just to obtain one gold mine. Well, tell me how I can help. I’ll say this in advance, though; if it’s too unreasonable, I won’t agree. Duke Kamdia is someone I find quite bothersome.”
“If it turns out to be too difficult, we can always reconsider… The solution, though, is simpler than you might think. Viscount Vyraxar, all you need to do is assist Viscount Karian in achieving the independence of his territory.”
“Independence of the territory…?”
Kaiyan’s words surprised Vyraxar, and even more surprised was Viscount Karian.
“What? What do you mean by independence?”
“I don’t believe it’s a bad proposal for Viscount Karian. After all, independence was already planned once you betrayed the Armis family, wasn’t it?”
“Well, that’s… but Armis’s family won’t let us go that easily, will they?”
The independence of a territory already affiliated with another noble family.
