A Frontline Soldier Awakened as a Gamer In The War! - FSAGW Chapter 71 (Part 2)
Except for the nine knights, Barvan’s group is currently traveling to Luna’s territory, leaving Blatan behind in a luxurious carriage.
“Kaiyan, I have a question.”
Kaiyan thought Barvan was sleeping since he had his eyes closed for the few hours they’d been heading to Luna, but Barvan opened his mouth.
“How did you survive the knights? Especially Grandel, who is not an ordinary intermediate knight.”
Salmos and Ecrin, who were next to Barvan, also looked at Kaiyan with curious or interested eyes.
“I was lucky.”
“Lucky? What kind of luck are you talking about?”
“I pretended to be a noble to survive. There happened to be a noble who knew me by name, so it was easy to deceive.”
The fact that he pretended to be a noble seemed to bother Barvan, as he frowned.
“Do you not realize how grave pretending to be noble is?”
“Well, I had no choice if I wanted to survive. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have met Barvan and the others.”
“Haha, that’s one way to put it. If you hadn’t, we would have thought Jansen was dead.”
Kaiyan is well aware of nobles and knights. That’s why he spoke the truth, knowing that Barvan wouldn’t make an issue out of it.
Kaiyan knew Barvan wouldn’t take this matter seriously.
“So, you received an invitation. Kaiyan, can you tell me which noble you impersonated?”
“It’s Tarien.”
“Tarien de Cheniavin… I see. Tarien is indeed a noble that Jansen would find tempting. Like Jansen, he’s aiming for the heir position.”
How famous is the Cheniavin family that everyone recognizes when they hear it?
“Barvan, may I ask a question?”
“Well… something like that.”
“Is the Cheniavin family famous in Menislan?”
“What? Haha! And you pretended to be Tarien without even knowing that? The more I know, the more intriguing you become.”
Barvan laughed heartily as if he had heard a really amusing story.
“The Cheniavin family is a viscount family. But not just any viscount.”
“Then…?”
“They are responsible for the eastern border of Menislan. In other words, they possess tremendous military power.”
Just a viscount family is responsible for a nation’s eastern border.
Barvan continued speaking as Kaiyan questioned, not being aware of such matters.
“The Cheniavin family alone has a force of over ten thousand troops at their disposal. Moreover, they hold the command of Legions 4, 5, and 6, so their actual military strength is higher than many dukes’. The Cheniavin family is a prominent family within the reach of just a few fingers in Menislan.”
“…Impressive.”
Kaiyan had thought Tarien wasn’t just an ordinary noble’s son, but to be the heir of such a prominent family!
It did make sense. Starting from spending money like water to possessing precious high-level artifacts, and not only having experienced senior knights but also leading over ten knights. It felt like a modest behavior compared to his status as a family heir.
‘Huh… he’s a guy who didn’t need my concern.’
If the old knight couldn’t have saved Tarien, wouldn’t the Cheniavin family have sent a massive rescue force?
“Now do you understand how dangerous your actions were? If the fact that you impersonated Tarien reaches the ears of the Cheniavin family, they will send over dozens of knights and thousands of elite soldiers after you.”
“Indeed, that’s right. That’s why meeting you and knowing that you’re aware of this fact is truly fortunate. Jansen and his subordinates who know this fact will disappear.”
“Haha, truly an interesting guy.”
Barvan’s expression wasn’t displeasure when talking about his younger brother’s death. It was a satisfied expression.
Seeing this, Kaiyan once again realized how dreadful nobles could be. The greed that can even sacrifice one’s own sibling for power.
‘Yes, I’ll make use of that greed of yours.’
It’s not like Kaiyan is teaming up with Barvan just because he has a favorable impression of him. It’s just that there’s more to gain from using him, and that’s why they’re together.
Kaiyan is no longer the past him who used to play around with the old knight.

About five hours have passed since their departure from Blatan, and the speed of the carriage, which had been moving swiftly, began to slow down.
Barvan seemed to have noticed, as he opened his eyes and looked out of the carriage window.
“It seems like we’ve arrived.”
As Barvan’s words seemed to be true, Kaiyan stretched his head out of the carriage window to look outside. He could see a small city wall and a few people waiting in line to enter.
“…But is it really alright to enter so openly like this? We might alert Jansen.”
Kaiyan had expected that they would disembark from the carriage and disguise themselves before entering Luna’s territory. Seeing the carriage heading confidently toward the main entrance of Luna’s territory raised suspicions. Moreover, the carriage he was currently on was a luxurious one used by nobles. It was the perfect carriage to arouse suspicion at first glance.
“Don’t worry. I’ve already made all the preparations.”
However, Barvan waved his hand as if to say not to worry when he had finished making the preparations, and in the meantime, the speed of the carriage gradually slowed down and came to a complete stop.
Now, if they wait a little longer, the guards will approach for inspection. The question is, what method does Barvan have in mind?
“Kaiyan.”
“Yes, Barvan.”
“It’s your turn now.”
“Yes?”
‘What is this all of a sudden? It’s about time for the inspection, and yet it’s my turn?’
“It’s just a formal inspection. They must have already checked the carriage and figured out it belongs to a noble. So, they’ll know you’re a noble, too. So, step forward.”
“So, what does that mean…?”
“The noble who’s riding in this carriage is not Barvan de Carsia, but Tarien de Cheniavin.”
