Rodin threw a potion to Ellice, who was slumped and gasping on top of a wagon. It was a potion crafted using ancient magic, one that could alleviate magical exhaustion to a certain extent.

“Drink it.”

“D-Drink…?”

“Yes. Drink it. It’ll help settle your system.”

Fortunately, Ellice wasn’t injured. She had simply exhausted all her magical power and collapsed from fatigue.

Marlon, too, wasn’t critically injured. His arm seemed to be broken, but that could heal with rest.

However, Bron and Baker were seriously wounded.

Bron was vomiting blood continuously from ruptured internal organs. Natural healing was utterly impossible, so Rodin threw him a potion.

“Catch.”

“Be… Baker first.”

“I get it, just take it.”

Baker was unconscious, blood dribbling from his mouth. Like Bron, he had ruptured organs, but his condition was more severe. Moreover, his leg was broken and twisted in the opposite direction.

“Hoo…”

There were many other injured, but Rodin checked on Baker first.

He gripped the broken leg and twisted it back to its original position. The chilling crack that sounded made several people flinch.

“It’s done, Young Master.”

“Well done.”

“I’ll help.”

“Sort the wounded by severity.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

After assigning the task to Jena, he cast magic. The 7th Circle Absolute Healing energy pierced into Baker’s body.

He pried open Baker’s mouth and poured in the potion. The potion and healing magic synergized, repairing the body rapidly.

“You’ll have a rough time recovering.”

Baker’s treatment was complete. It would take several days to fully recover, but he’d get up without aftereffects.

“Bron, does it hurt a lot?”

Gurgle! Gurgle!

“Not reall—”

“Don’t talk, just drink what I gave you. Absolute Healing.”

Rodin personally uncorked the potion he had handed to Bron and then immediately cast 7th Circle healing magic. Unlike Baker, Bron drank the potion on his own.

“Kuh… I feel alive now.”

“Marlon, are you in a lot of pain?”

“Hurts like hell.”

“Looks like Marlon’s not as strong as an ogre. Absolute Healing.”

He teased him lightly, then handed him a potion. Marlon drank it immediately upon receiving it.

“What are you saying? I’m human, you know.”

“Hmm, but I know someone who actually resembles an ogre.”

“Kuh… but this stuff is delicious. It’s different from any potion I’ve had before. Sweet and nice.”

“It’s a bit of a different kind of potion. Recovery.”

For Marlon, who only had a broken arm, 7th Circle healing magic was overkill. 5th Circle Recovery would’ve been more than enough.

While treating the three, Ellice had regained some of her strength. Though staggering, she came down from the roof of the carriage and stood before Rodin.

“Thank you. You saved my life.”

“Well… it just turned out that way. You were lucky.”

After calming Ellice, he looked back. Jena was diligently sorting the wounded.

“Huff!”

“What is this…?”

In the meantime, the rest of the procession that Rodin originally belonged to had arrived. The mercenaries, upon seeing the devastation, quickly joined the effort.

“Sort the wounded first.”

“Assist Mercenary Jena in sorting the injured.”

“Move quickly. The dead, over here.”

The mercenaries were mobilized to tend to their tired and wounded comrades. Then, someone descended from the Sinclair Merchant Group’s carriage.

“You’re the Grand Mage, aren’t you?”

“Yes. Are you the leader of the merchant group?”

“No. I’m Lukas, the vice-leader of the Sinclair Merchant Group. Thank you for your assistance.”

“I simply did what was necessary.”

Lukas thanked Rodin, then returned into the carriage. He was an ill-mannered man.

“Not a fan.”

“Should I kill him?”

“No.”

Karis, who had approached before he realized it, had made the offer lightly, but Rodin dismissed it flatly.

Even the slightest hint of affirmation, and Karis really would kill someone. That’s why it was necessary to clearly say no when it was no.

“Recovery. Clean Up. Restore. Healing!”

Rodin went around treating the injured. He refrained from using 7th Circle Absolute Healing. Spells of lower rank were sufficient.

Of course, even Baker and Bron hadn’t strictly required 7th Circle Absolute Healing. 5th Circle Recovery would’ve eventually led to full recovery.

However, by using 7th Circle magic, he eliminated any side effects and shortened the time to complete recovery. Since he was familiar with them, he had taken extra care.

“Whew, what a mess this is…”

The general treatment was finished. Classification of the casualties was also wrapped up.

The total number of mercenaries killed in this battle: twelve. All others, excluding the mage Ellice, were injured.

“Mage Rodin, what should we do now?”

“That’s not for me to decide. We should ask Her Majesty.”

“Right. Let’s go together.”

“Sure.”

Together with Scott, he went to see Queen Regina. He suddenly recalled he’d meant to bring her a potion but had rushed off.

“My apologies, Your Majesty. Things were urgent, and I committed a discourtesy.”

“Not at all. Saving lives comes first. You did well.”

“First, please take this potion.”

Rodin handed over three bottles of potion.

Receiving one, Queen Regina passed it to her handmaid. She uncorked another and handed it to Prince Arian.

“Drink, Prince.”

“Mother should go first.”

“Once I see you drink it, your mother will do so too. So go ahead.”

“Yes, Mother.”

Prince Arian tilted the potion into his mouth. His eyes soon widened.

“It tastes good.”

“Eh? You mean… the potion tastes good?”

“Yes. You should try it, Mother. It tastes like honey water.”

“Really?”

Queen Regina also uncorked the potion and sipped it. The sweet flavor powerfully stimulated the tip of her tongue.

“Oh my, the prince was right. It is delicious. You could even call it a beverage. Mage Rodin, how can a potion taste so good?”

“I’m not sure. I just followed the recipe I knew. Whoever originally developed it must’ve cared about flavor.”

“Fascinating. I’ve had quite a few potions in my time, but this is the first that tasted so good.”

After Prince Arian and Queen Regina, the handmaid Beca also drank hers, and with that, the potion intake was complete.

“Is the poison all cured now?”

“No, Your Majesty. You’ll need to take it twice more. Once per day—so in two days, it’ll be done. His Highness only needs one more dose tomorrow.”

“And Beca?”

“She’s considered cured. Though, when she relieves herself today, it’ll smell quite foul. That’s a sign the toxins are exiting her system, so please don’t be alarmed.”

One of the three was now completely cured of poison. In two more days, Queen Regina and Prince Arian would also be free of the venom’s grip.
