The most troublesome thing about Moaning Myrtle was that she was always in a bad mood — self-pitying, always feeling sorry for herself, and her eyes were like leaky faucets, ready to gush tears at any moment. She loved talking about unpleasant things and bringing others down with her gloomy mood. She was like this even before she died.

Ron seemed to be amused by Myrtle’s words, “When you say you had lots in common, do you mean he lives in an S-bend too?”

“No,” said Myrtle defiantly, her voice echoing loudly around the old tiled bathroom. “I mean he’s sensitive, people bully him too, and he feels lonely and hasn’t got anybody to talk to, and he’s not afraid to show his feelings and cry!”

“Um… there’s been a boy in here crying?” Evan asked uncertainly, and this should be what Myrtle meant.

“A young boy?” Harry added, trying to make his tone more friendly.

But it was useless, Myrtle’s small, leaky eyes stared at Ron who was now definitely grinning.

“Never you mind!” she said. “I promised I wouldn’t tell anyone, and I’ll take his secret to the —”

“— not the grave, surely?” said Ron with a snort. “The sewers, maybe …”

Myrtle gave a howl of rage and dived back into the toilet, causing water to slop over the sides and onto the floor.

“You shouldn’t have pissed her off and made her leave!”

“I did it on purpose,” said Ron. “How are we supposed to change clothes with her here?”

“She might still tell someone. We’d better hurry. Malfoy will get suspicious if he waits outside for too long,” said Harry. “If he comes in, we’re screwed.”

“Wait, you’re not planning to transform and change right here, are you?” Evan quickly stopped Harry, who was about to raise the flask of Polyjuice Potion to his lips. He reminded him again, “You two are turning into girls. Polyjuice Potion doesn’t just change your face — it completely transforms your body. That means you’ll both be, in every physical way, exactly like the people you’re turning into.”

He emphasized the words completely and exactly. Evan had no interest in witnessing the birth and dressing-up process of two girls — especially when those girls were actually boys…

At his reminder, Harry and Ron hesitated, then picked up the girls’ school robes and went into separate stalls.

The bathroom fell quiet again. Evan stared absentmindedly at a water pipe, while the sound of rustling came from the stalls — the sound of clothes being changed…

About two minutes later, one of the stall doors opened. Out came Harry — or rather, a petite, black-haired girl.   

Maybe, she could be called Harriette now.

“Harry?”

“It’s me, it feels really weird,” he said, looking down at his lower body. “How do I look?” he asked.

“Very pretty! You just need to loosen up a little more!” said Evan with a suppressed laugh. “If Hermione weren’t around, I might consider making you my girlfriend.”

“Hey, I never imagined turning into a girl would feel like this,” said Harry with a complex expression. “You know, walking around feels… breezy down there… Never mind. We’ve come this far — let’s go. Ron, hurry up.”

After some more urging, Ron came out. He had transformed into a blonde girl, with a style that looked more mature than Harry’s.

But like Harry, he was also very embarrassed about his current appearance, and his walking posture was weird and he was not used to it.

“You know what I’m thinking? I suddenly found a new use for Polyjuice Potion,” said Ron. “When I was changing…”

Evan didn’t want to elaborate or comment on Ron’s thoughts.

At first, the plan went smoothly. They followed him all the way to the corridor of the Room of Requirement, until Moaning Myrtle suddenly emerged from behind the wall.

Faced with her unexpected appearance, they stopped for a long while. Myrtle must have said something untimely to Malfoy…

Damn. This was really bad!

Ron shouldn’t have made Myrtle angry and ran away, retribution came, it would be weird if Malfoy didn’t get suspicious.

Sure enough, Myrtle went through the floor to the sixth floor, but Harry, Ron, and Malfoy remained there without moving.
