Azkaban, the most famous Wizarding prison in the magical world, the homeland of Dementors.

At the same time, it was also the last place of Salazar Slytherin’s retreat and the burial place of an evil god.

Evan had been to Azkaban with Dumbledore and Sirius before to confirm important information with Peter Pettigrew. During that visit, he had witnessed the horror of this island in the waters of the North Sea.

It was a place shrouded in infinite fear and despair, without happiness, hope, and life.

The only companion was the sound of the sea, crashing relentlessly, while shadowy figures floated and flickered nearby. Every time he turned to look, there would be nothing — leaving one unsure if it was a hallucination or a passing Dementor. In that atmosphere of extreme hopelessness, even death felt like a luxury.

As soon as positive emotions arose, they would be immediately sucked away by the Dementors along with vitality and become food for those monsters.

In the deepest and most heavily guarded cell in Azkaban, Evan had sensed the presence of a dead evil god, lurking in the deep sea below the island.

It was the red plaque that had fallen from the Eyeball Monster he’d defeated that allowed him to sense him. When he destroyed the evil god’s physical form, he received another such plaque. These plaques were linked to the evil god — he should have realized it sooner.

That time, he saw a horrific, indescribable monster in the deep sea, an evil god with countless tentacles.

Evan still remembered the experience clearly. Under the influence of the red plaque, it was as if his soul had separated from his body, detached from the real world, and entered a strange dimension beneath Azkaban. The prison cell, Dumbledore, Sirius, and Peter Pettigrew all vanished, leaving him alone, engulfed in darkness.

By the fading light at the tip of his wand, he saw a vast, bottomless black pit at his feet.

He ultimately jumped in, plunging straight down into the abyss — falling endlessly into pitch-black depths.

As he fell, the last light from his wand was swallowed by the darkness. Yet in his soul-form, Evan could still see his surroundings.

Even though he was submerged in freezing seawater, he didn’t need to worry about breathing or oxygen.

In the deep sea, the first thing he saw was an unidentifiable gray object, its color a dark, rotting gray, like decaying flesh. The surface had no luster. The shape was round and long, like a huge and ugly rubber tube.

It was not until later that Evan knew that it was a tentacle of the evil god.

It drifted with the currents aimlessly, and no matter which direction he looked, he couldn’t see its end.

Evan continued to go down along the tentacle, and saw more and more tentacles in the deep sea. All around him was deathly silence. He could not see the full form of this unknown creature — it was simply too immense. In its presence, Evan felt utterly insignificant. All he could do was catch brief glimpses of its form, like peering through a tube — incapable of grasping the whole.

It was not until he marked the body of the evil god with magic that he saw an evil god with countless tentacles appear in front of him.

His body was tilted at a certain angle, his head was immersed in the deepest darkness of the sea, and he seemed to be connected to the abyss underground. Countless dark gray tentacles stretched upward, grabbing the entire island where Azkaban stood, holding it tightly.

After countless years, the edges of those tentacles had already fused with the island’s rocky surface, becoming one.

At the center — right where Evan had fallen — he had initially thought it was a massive pit. But from that indescribable evil god’s body, countless black egg-shaped objects were being exhaled, slowly drifting upward.

Upward, upward — wavering, flickering, like a dream or illusion.

The eggs floated very, very slowly, yet they were clearly in motion, producing an eerie and unsettling atmosphere.

It was not until Evan approached one of them to observe that he recognized what they actually were.

These were not eggs at all, they were all Dementors.

The evil god in front of him was creating Dementors!

He remembered it clearly: at that moment, the strange red plaque he carried flashed again, as if trying to absorb the essence of the terrifying evil god, or perhaps reacting to him — telling Evan that this terrifying creature was part of his own body, and not just any part… it was the brain.

But Evan had overlooked this vital information at the time, because the evil god before him had made no sound and exerted no substantial pressure — he appeared completely lifeless. He had assumed he was already dead. …

In his understanding, evil gods would not die. Even though Slytherin had divided this one into three parts, both the eyes and the body still showed considerable activity and aggressiveness. In contrast, the one beneath Azkaban seemed entirely lifeless.

Therefore, he judged that the dead evil god was not part of the evil god he was looking for.

After feeling shaken and awed, he stopped paying attention to the matter.

Evan did not expect that one day, Dumbledore would tell him that the tentacled monster he had seen that day was the evil god’s brain — buried beneath Azkaban. It was shocking, but if Dumbledore had confirmed it, then it must be true.

Could it be that the brain of this evil god was not dead, but suppressed by a more powerful force, rendered inert?

Perhaps by the power of the Twin Serpent Staff? Maybe Slytherin had left his most powerful magic item there as a seal to control the evil god’s brain, keeping it from doing anything more than creating Dementors. Perhaps that was the whole story behind it all.

Evan let out a sigh. After all the twists and turns… everything came back to Azkaban.

It seemed he would have to return there again — just like before — to destroy the last part of the evil god, and retrieve the Twin Serpent Staff said to have the power to cross between worlds…

“Eyes, body, and brain. Salazar Slytherin decomposed the evil god he brought back into three parts and hid them in three different places. The eyes had the weakest power, so Slytherin left them in Hogwarts as the initial guide. The body was the largest and the most corruptive to the world, requiring regular reinforcement of its seal. Therefore, Slytherin hid it in the uninhabited frozen soil of Norway, using its blood as the basis of power and leaving the vampire clan to guard it. It was a rather ingenious piece of magic: as long as the vampires continued to sacrifice their lives, they could strengthen the power of the seal,” said Dumbledore. “The magic was designed to last for about a thousand years. From the very beginning, Slytherin had intended to resolve everything at this exact point in time. As for the last part: the brain…”
