According to mythological stories, the most prominent feature of the Kraken is its massive tentacles, which are lined with suction cups.

It sounds a bit like a giant octopus or a colossal squid, but it is actually a completely different creature.

While those two are common marine animals, the Kraken is a monstrous being from myth and legend, a super magical creature representing calamity.

There is no limit to the number of tentacles of the Kraken. Just like the giant squid, it has a body as the center and keeps growing tentacles outward, round and round.

Due to its years of growth, the closer the tentacles are to the center, the thicker they are.

The center surrounded by countless tentacles is its body, which has a brain, mouth, eyes and the foundation of all tentacles.

It is said that the eyes of the Kraken are as red as rubies and have special magic.

Just like the eye of the Cyclops has the power of thunder, and the eyes of the basilisk can kill or petrify the viewer, the eyes of the Kraken can instill an unprecedented fear in anyone who meets its gaze.

It is an instinctual fear, the suppression between species.

The strange flash of red that Evan had just seen was the eyes of the Kraken.

According to legend, where there was a Kraken, there were sea worms, but that did not mean that the relationship between the two was mutually beneficial.

The Kraken would look for sea worms of suitable size, kill them and hollow out their insides, using them as its nest, leaving only a small hole at the bottom for entry and exit.

In the records left by Alfred the Great, there is a clear description of the Kraken: In the unfathomable depths of the sea, the Kraken slumbers. It has slept for centuries and will continue to rest upon a colossal sea worm, until one day, when the fire of the deep warms the ocean floor, men and angels shall witness it rise roaring from the abyss — only to perish upon the surface. The most terrifying thing about the Kraken may not be the power it possesses, but the symbol it foreshadows.

According to Alfred the Great’s description, many wizards firmly believe that the Kraken will rise to the surface at the end of the world.

It is an extremely ominous symbol, indicating that something terrible will happen.

If Professor Trelawney were to see the Kraken, who knows what kind of prophecy she might utter?

Now that they had figured out the situation, what lay before Evan and the others was that if they wanted to take the Twin-Serpent Staff, they would first have to destroy the evil god’s brain.

However, unlike the previous eyeball monster and the evil god’s body, this time they were not just facing the brain, but also the Kraken it controlled.

This monster had extraordinary power, not inferior to the evil god at all, and even more troublesome.   

The evil god would be restrained by the magic left by Slytherin, and Evan still had the trump card The Book of Abraham.

This magic book left by the ancient prophet recorded Abraham’s experience in the void world and the magical power he left behind. It was the nemesis of all evil gods.

But facing the Kraken, The Book of Abraham was useless. The creature seemed to fear the Twin Serpent Staff, but Evan and his team couldn’t use this Staff now.

Dumbledore appeared to be able to use it. Although Evan didn’t know how he did it, judging by his appearance, it was clear how much of a burden the Staff’s power placed on him.

He was not really planning to do that… was he?!

For the greater good, as long as the reason was strong enough and the stakes high enough, Dumbledore seemed to be very likely to do so.

“Professor, you won’t…” Evan didn’t know how to phrase it, so he changed his wording and asked, “Faced with the Kraken and the evil god, do you have a plan?”

“There’s no particularly good solution. Ordinary magic can hardly harm such magical creatures. If we don’t defeat it, we can’t find the brain,” said Dumbledore, “unless I use the power of that Staff.”

“How to use it? I mean, what will be the price?”

“Slytherin left a method,” Dumbledore raised his right hand. “I’m ready. The worst possible thing is to pay my life, but compared to what we can get, it is not a too unacceptable loss.”

“Your life?!” Harry looked at Dumbledore hesitantly. What was the headmaster talking about?!

“Professor, you’re not planning to…”

“Trust me, Evan, Harry. Though death itself is not frightening, I don’t intend to end my life just like that. My life is still quite valuable. What I spoke of earlier was only the worst-case scenario,” said Dumbledore calmly. “But things haven’t reached that point yet, and we still have other problems to deal with. You’ve both seen this positive energy transformed from positive emotions.”

“Hmm!”

“This lake water, this energy, can hinder the power of the Staff. Herpo the Foul hopes to weaken the influence of the sealing magic in this way,” said Dumbledore. “As I mentioned earlier, it’s a hindrance for us as well. If we want to see what’s beneath, we must first clear away this lake water, which is unlikely to be done.”

Indeed, the milky-white water before them was simply too vast.
