Heavenly Martial God - H.M.G Chapter 3 (Part 2):
Geum Cheom Sang entered carrying a tray as large as a child’s torso.
Behind him, servants entered in a line, each carrying similarly sized trays.
The large table was instantly filled with trays.
Looking at the covered trays, Ha Hoo Young smiled with satisfaction.
“You’ve truly served this body for a long time, haven’t you? You show up right when I need you.”
“It’s been more than a year or two.”
“Give me the decoction first.”
“Why so eager? Let’s start with this.”
Geum Cheom Sang lifted the lid of the tray he was carrying.
Five bowls of warm, steaming medicinal soup were neatly arranged on the tray.
Ha Hoo Young’s pupils shook.
“…You expect me to drink all of this just because my legs are broken?”
“This is just one bowl.”
“What about the others?”
“Aren’t these the usual ones you take?”
“Five bowls of tonic? Even if my body is weak…”
“Huh? What are you talking about?”
Geum Cheom Sang placed a straw in one of the tonic bowls and pointed at the table.
“There’s more over there.”
“What?”
“Ten types of soup to protect the mind and body, ten types of tonics to regulate energy, and five types of soup prescribed for Young Master’s chronic illness. A total of twenty-five bowls.”
Ha Hoo Young’s jaw dropped, and his eyes widening.
All those on the table were tonics?
‘…Do I have to drink all this every day?’
Did this guy fill his stomach with only medicine?
Even water would be impossible to drink in such quantities.
As Ha Hoo Young stared blankly, Geum Cheom Sang placed the straw in his mouth.
Slurp, slurp, slurp.
Ha Hoo Young, as if entranced, automatically moved his mouth to suck up the soup.
Even when he first woke up in this body and could barely see, he had no trouble finding the straw.
“Good, good. Keep drinking. Slurp, slurp!”
“Damn it.”
“Don’t curse. Positive thoughts. Positive mind. That’s how the medicine works best.”
The bowls were emptied one by one. As expected of tonics, they were disgustingly bitter.
Yet somehow, he felt healthier.
Gulp, gulp!
He even drank directly from the bowls after removing the straw.
Ha Hoo Young felt a deep sense of doubt as he emptied the bowls.
‘How does this body end up like this despite eating this every day?’
A short while later, all twenty-five bowls had entered Ha Hoo Young’s stomach.
“Ugh!”
It felt like bitter liquid was rising from his throat.
His insides felt full of the medicinal soup.
He roughly wiped his mouth and frowned.
“Next time, bring pills instead!”
“Here are the pills.”
“…”
Crunch, crunch!
Ha Hoo Young chewed on the pill Geum Cheom Sang handed him, his eyes widening.
“Huh? What’s this?”
“It’s called the Golden Spirit Pill, made by the head of the medical hall.”
“I have to eat this every day?”
“Three pills a day.”
“Ha!”
Ha Hoo Young exclaimed in genuine surprise.
The quality of the Golden Spirit Pill was exceptional.
Just one pill made his body feel warm and his breathing easier.
It seemed to have an excellent effect on replenishing vitality.
Taking a deep breath and regulating his breathing, his mind felt clearer.
It was undoubtedly a top-tier tonic.
And he had to take three of these a day.
The wealth of the Namgoong Family was truly impressive.
‘The soup wasn’t ordinary either. Not quite at the level of the Golden Spirit Pill, but still.’
Ha Hoo Young rubbed his chin.
‘Since I’m already here, maybe I should stay for a while and take advantage of the medicine.’
On second thought, with them spoon-feeding him like this, there was no reason to refuse.
He had to refine his internal energy and body from scratch anyway.
In that case, it seemed better to take as much as he could and expand his capacity.
Then, when he went to the Heavenly Mountain, ascension would be even easier!
‘That’s the smart move. No point rushing and messing things up.’
His gaze swept across the luxurious room of Namgoong Hyuk.
‘Since I’m Namgoong Hyuk now, it’s not like anyone will complain if I act the part.’
Enjoying a bit of luxury for a while didn’t seem so bad either.
‘While I’m here, I’ll just be Namgoong Hyuk.’
Ha Hoo Young, no, Namgoong Hyuk, made up his mind.
As he was organizing his thoughts, a group of servants entered the room.
Seeing them each carrying a tray, Namgoong Hyuk gave Geum Cheom Sang a wary look.
“What’s that now…?”
Geum Cheom Sang directed the servants and spoke loudly.
“It’s time for lunch.”
“…I’m already full.”
“You need to eat it all.”
Namgoong Hyuk stared blankly at the luxurious food piled mountain-high on the table.
“All of it?”
“Is it not enough?”
“…Bring me a spoon.”
“Here.”
Geum Cheom Sang handed him a golden spoon.
Cheom Sang placed a small table in front of Namgoong Hyuk, selecting rice and side dishes separately.
“Ha, a golden spoon, huh.”
“Should I switch it to a silver one?”
“No, it’s fine.”
Namgoong Hyuk hesitated as he took the spoon.
It was heavier than expected, and each scoop required effort.
Bringing the rice from the bowl to his mouth was a struggle.
‘Since when was eating rice such a delicate task?’
It was different from climbing a wall, but it was just as exhausting.
Was this body even capable of daily life?
Tremble, tremble.
Unbelievably, his hand started shaking after emptying half the bowl.
Glancing up, Namgoong Hyuk noticed Cheom Sang staring intently at him.
“…What?”
“Shall I feed you?”
“The rice? Am I a child?”
Even a three-year-old can scoop rice with a spoon. There’s no way he can’t do it.
“Try some of the ginseng salad.”
“What salad?”
“Ginseng salad.”
“…Ginseng salad as a side dish?”
Who in their right mind coats ginseng with seasoning and serves it as a dish?
“…Here it is.”
Namgoong Hyuk quietly picked up the ginseng salad Cheom Sang brought and chewed.
‘Huh, what luxury.’
The amount of ginseng in this side dish far exceeded what he had eaten in his entire life.
The rice bowl, the spoon, everything exuded immense wealth.
If only his body were in good condition, this kind of luxury would be worth enjoying.
‘Right, if only my body were in good condition.’
Namgoong Hyuk decided he needed to properly assess his physical condition.
Only by understanding his body could he figure out what to gain from the Namgoong Family and how to manage it.
If he merely relied on the meals and medicine provided without taking action, he’d be stuck like this forever.
“We’ll clear the table now.”
Cheom Sang and the servants quickly cleared the table.
As Cheom Sang headed out, Namgoong Hyuk called out to him.
“Hey, I want to be alone today, so don’t come in.”
“Huh? I can’t do that.”
“No, you can. Don’t come in.”
“I can’t. The family head will scold me!”
“Then wait outside. Get out.”
“B-But, Young Master, I really can’t…”
“Get out. Unless you want trouble.”
Under Namgoong Hyuk’s threat, Cheom Sang left with a pained expression.
Namgoong Hyuk stared at the door for a moment, then turned his head.
Now that the annoying guy was gone, it was time to do what he needed to do.
Namgoong Hyuk regulated his breathing.
“Alright, let’s check my energy flow first.”
