Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 100 (Part1):
Someone brought up a new topic.
“Helmut, that guy, would be perfect for attracting freshmen just by showing his face.”
“That’s true, his face could raise the average level of the swordsmanship Department’s second-year students.”
“If there’s a guy who doesn’t fit the swordsmanship department, it would be Asuka, but that guy Helmut is something else.”
“He’s handsome.”
Everyone nodded their heads. The topic shifted again.
“As for Asuka, I just hope the first-year students don’t provoke him.”
“I bet 10,000 marks that Asuka beats up at least one first-year student.”
“I bet 100,000 marks.”
“I bet 1,000,000… is that too much?”
“If your family heard that, you’d get beaten up.”
“Anyway, it’s a problem. The first-year students… they’re different from us, right?”
The second-year students in the swordsmanship Department were quickly getting used to the academy’s policy of ensuring equal education between nobles and commoners after Sabbat’s incident.
Above all, Helmut, one of the only two commoners, didn’t seem like a commoner at all, and Asuka was the same, but in a different way.
Asuka couldn’t be classified as a commoner or a noble. He was an entirely different breed. He was truly a crazy dog.
The second-year students knew this, but the first-year students didn’t, and that was the problem.
They must have heard rumors about Asuka, but they haven’t seen it with their own eyes.
It was their first semester in their first year. The assimilation has not yet been properly achieved.
If they are of noble origin, they will not treat a commoner senior properly.
The problem was that Asuka wasn’t the type to overlook that quietly.
During a brief moment, Instructor Patricia admonished Helmut.
“Helmut, you need to keep an eye on Asuka. I’m counting on you.”
“That’s a difficult request.”
He wanted to ask, “What’s the benefit for me?” But it felt like not only Instructor Patricia but everyone was entrusting Asuka to Helmut.
Except for the one incident where he beat up Sabbat, Helmut was a problem-free model student and diligent.
That didn’t mean Helmut had a generous personality that was exemplary and took good care of his classmates, but it looked that way.
“But he listens to you. He’s a guy who doesn’t even listen to the instructor.”
“He doesn’t really listen to me either.”
“Still, I ask you. Please be careful.”
Turning her back, Instructor Patricia left, passing her trust onto him as if believing in an honor student. Helmut didn’t know she was a high-ranking expert.
Now that it had come to this, it felt like they’d use Helmut if Asuka did something.
‘It’s a hassle.’
From the moment he met Asuka, it was a doomed fate.
‘I don’t know if I can endure this.’
In reality, essay exams were definitely not his preference.
While scribbling answers on paper without energy and listening to Areia’s nagging, it seemed that quite a bit of stress had built up.
If he let go a bit during dueling, he might feel like beating up his opponent.
In the dueling that was about to happen, Asuka was his opponent. An opponent who doesn’t mind being beaten up a bit.
He was a bit wary, and Asuka approached and spoke to him.
“Helmut, what did Instructor Patricia say?”
“She said to keep an eye on you.”
“Keep an eye on me? why is she always doing that to me?”
Asuka grumbled.
‘Not only Instructor Patricia does that.’
It seemed like Asuka still didn’t know he was the problem. Either he didn’t know or pretended not to.
Asuka quickly got into another topic.
“Hey, did you hear too? There’s a pretty girl in the first year. A girl!”
“There are girls in general classes too.”
But Helmut had been avoiding or completely ignoring female students. He had experienced a few who were annoyingly asking him to deliver gifts to Alea.
Most of the girls Helmut had encountered since coming to Baden were fans of Alea.
They were slightly mentally unstable, a race of people who shouldn’t be messed with.
“But there weren’t any in the second year, right? And she’s pretty too!”
Helmut hesitated to point out to the excited Asuka that the first-year girl would be a noble and likely to ignore him since he was a commoner.
“Well, you’re roommates with Alea. It’s understandable that you wouldn’t find her particularly appealing.”
“What are you talking about?”
Could it be, did this guy notice? Helmut reacted suspiciously.
“What are you talking about?”
Could it be that this guy noticed? Helmut suspiciously reacted.
“Alea is the prettiest in Greta Academy. Probably even in Baden. Being a man is the problem. When I first saw that kid, my eyes widened. But to be a man with that face, it’s nauseating!”
Observing Asuka, who was emitting frustration all over his body, Helmut narrowed his eyes.
‘This guy…’
It’s funny to say that even if she shows up right now in a dress, she doesn’t make the face that would make people believe she’s a girl.
He seemed to not know that the one who was screwed from the womb was himself.
At that moment, Instructor Patricia’s shout echoed.
“Everyone, have you chosen your partners?”
“More importantly, it’s time to duel. Focus.”
At Helmut’s words, Asuka slightly stiffened his expression. He was aware that Helmut may be stronger than him.
“I won’t go easy on you.”
Asuka had a defiant look. No one in the martial arts department had ever defeated him in a duel.
He had faced a senior one year above him, but he had won that too.
“Who asked you to go easy? Do you always talk as if winning is a given? Just wait and see!”
That’s how it should be. If it ends too easily, it will be ridiculous.
