Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 105 (Part 1):
“So, the conclusion is to stay away from Charlotte?”
However, Alea quickly dodged Helmut’s question.
“It’s your judgment. I’m just pointing out that such situations could arise. Until the other party makes a move, it’s just suspicion.”
Despite saying that, Alea’s eyes seemed to criticize him as a fool who would fall into the hands of her followers if he even dared to have a duel with Charlotte.
In fact, it was a straightforward matter. Helmut had no reason to create conflict with Alea over Charlotte. Even if Alea’s judgment was wrong, it didn’t matter.
“If you want me to keep my distance from Charlotte because she seems suspicious, just say so. I don’t care anyway..”
It was unclear why Alea was beating around the bush if that was all she wanted. Helmut preferred clear and straightforward communication.
Alea’s side was undoubtedly more important. After all, she was his roommate, a tutor, and she might even tutor him in the future. Of course, it wasn’t free.
He hadn’t interacted much with the first-year students. Helmut believed having Asuka in the Swordsmanship Department was enough.
Continuing to mingle with the only female student in the first year seemed like an undesirable choice, considering the jealous looks he received when he had a brief conversation with her.
“Really?”
Alea’s complexion relaxed. She seemed pleased that he obediently followed her. A slight upward turn of the corners of her mouth indicated that.
She coughed a few times and continued speaking.
“This is advice because you seem too trusting…”
Alea said with a serious face.
“In the future, if a strange girl approaches you pretending to be friendly, first suspect her. Not only those who want to use you as a bridge, but also those who approach you to hit you in the back of the head will definitely be there.”
“Got it.”
Helmut answered with a cautious expression. Alea’s words resonated with Darien’s advice. The dangers of the human world.
Even if an opponent was weak, as an Academy student, Helmut bore the shackles of being cautious. He understood the importance of vigilance to avoid potential trouble.
In the academy, there wouldn’t be anyone with enough ability and will to target Helmut to that extent, but it wouldn’t hurt to be cautious. Helmut accepted it coolly.
‘Alea is indeed thorough and cautious.’
There was a lot to learn. As a person with secrets. Helmut’s misunderstanding was still rooted in the wrong direction.
For now, he didn’t entertain the idea that there might be female students who feel attracted to him and approach him.
Being a commoner had its flaws, but being handsome and excelling in the Swordsmanship Department compensated for that.
But Helmut was completely unaware of that fact.
He unconsciously felt that only peculiar guys like Sian and Asuka approached him, apart from Alea who approached him first.
There were also rough guys in the Swordsmanship department, but Helmut was a strong individual. It was only natural for the weak to follow the strong.
Growing up in the Forest of Roots resulted in Helmut not experiencing the favorable gazes of girls his age, and then meeting Alea. His unfortunate destiny was partly to blame.
So, Helmut finding it plausible that girls approaching him might have ulterior motives wasn’t entirely surprising.
‘Does he believe this? Does he even realize how he appears to others?’
Alea felt a sense of discomfort while speaking. Looking at Helmut, who agreed as if saying, ‘You’re right,’ even her non-existent conscience stung a bit.
Alea decided to take it easy. The important thing now was the tutoring, and Helmut had just handed over his answer sheet.
“…Let’s review the answer sheet.”
Because she didn’t say anything that didn’t make sense at all.
Why she was upset when she heard the story that Helmut had received a date request, why she is feeling better now, and why she made such an extreme statement, is a mystery.
‘Was I upset because I used a trick as an excuse to talk to him?’
Alea dispelled these thoughts from her mind. There was no need to dwell on it any longer.
