Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 107 (Part 1):
Charlotte greeted them formally.
“I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Did you also order the special toast of the Swordsmanship Department?”
“Yes.”
Asuka felt a sense of awkwardness. Charlotte, with a petite figure that didn’t seem much different from ordinary girls, had an aristocratic air that could be noticed anywhere. There seemed to be no place for that large sword of hers.
“Can you finish it all?”
“Why do you think I can’t finish it all? I’m also from the Swordsmanship Department. I’ve been practicing, so I get hungry.”
“The first-year student from the Swordsmanship Department? The one who challenged Helmut to a duel?”
Alea asked quietly, her eyes scanning them. Unintentionally, they showed interest, especially in Charlotte. Despite her age, she had a calm atmosphere. The gaze that observed her from top to bottom was intense.
“Isn’t she pretty? There’s a rumor going around about a beautiful girl entering the Swordsmanship Department.”
Sian whispered softly, leaning on his chin. As Asuka scanned the faces of the other two, he asked, “Besides, is it okay for you to be out late with male students?”
The two of them turned their heads, not wanting their conversation to be mixed.
“In the first year of the swordsmanship department, I’m the only female student. If I worry about that, I can’t hang out with anyone.”
Charlotte responded confidently. Although she seemed like a noble lady who associated with noble boys, her behavior indicated otherwise.
Asuka, at a loss for words, offered his farewell and stood up from his seat.
“Well, we were about to leave. Take care.”
“Okay, senpai. It was nice to meet you, senpai Helmut.”
Helmut stood up and nodded. Alea stood up, taking out her wallet.
“I’m calculating separately.”
Everyone paid their own share. While nobles might take turns treating each other or have one particularly wealthy person lead the way in paying, this common group had a different style.
The wealthiest, Alea, had no intention of buying for these guys. There might have been a willingness to buy for one of them, but the problem was the other two paupers.
Before leaving the shop, Alea stopped in front of Charlotte and gave her a look.
“Did you say your name is Charlotte?”
“Yes, yes!”
“I’m Alea. You know me, right?”
She spoke as if anyone who didn’t know her was an idiot. When her purple eyes pierced her, Charlotte’s cheeks flushed.
“Of, of course. I know. Alea, the senior of the magic department.”
Her sudden stuttering was rather awkward.
“I thought so.”
Alea responded casually and passed by.
Charlotte pressed down on her flushed cheeks while the two classmates looked at her displeased.
‘Oh my god, Alea talked to me!’
That was exactly her expression. Even Charlotte, who was thought to be an exception, was no exception in front of Alea.
Asuka made a face as if he had eaten a bug. Sian’s expression also became nervous. The only indifferent one was Helmut. Well, he was feeling something too.
‘Was Alea right? She’s trying to approach him through me…’
While misunderstanding.
“I realized one thing.”
After finishing the calculation and leaving the store, Sian said with a serious face.
“As long as we’re with Alea, none of us will be able to date a girl.”
Asuka affirmed with a brief silence. Helmut had no particular thoughts.
Having a few friends was enough to cause a lot of trouble. A girlfriend seemed to be something that would make life several times more tiring and steal time.
Sian grabbed Alea’s shoulder. No, he tried to grab it, but Alea quickly dodged it. Very skillfully. Unfazed, Sian suggested.
“In that sense, don’t you think about wearing a mask?”
“No.”
“A mysterious magic department valedictorian with a mask! Isn’t that cool? You could even create fantasies for Academy students!”
Alea made an astonished face. Even if she was Alea, doing such a thing might make people doubt her mental state.
“You do it. It’s fine to be a mysterious spirit mage wearing a mask.”
“That? Yeah, that might be quite cool. Becoming a mysterious spirit mage and enchanting Academy girls one by one…”
“I can’t listen because the level is low.”
Alea turned her back abruptly. Even Asuka spit out a pitying expression.
“Don’t talk to me if you’re going to wear a mask or whatever.”
“You guys, aren’t you too unsupportive? Helmut! What do you think?”
Sian sparkled his eyes as if looking at the only sympathizer. But Helmut, who was indifferent to almost everything, showed a reaction after some thought. In a bad way.
“…It’s your freedom, but I think I’ll hate exchanging conversations with you.”
Even Helmut turned his back and left, Sian became gloomy.
Alea, Asuka, and Helmut walked toward the Academy, leaving him behind. Shouting loudly, he said,
“No, it was a joke. You guys are too much. Guys, let’s go together!”
That day passed like that.
