Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 131( Part 1):
Andro hesitated.
‘Can Asuka handle that guy alone? It was tough for the three of us to even hold on, let alone gain the upper hand.’
But he knew that James had reached his limit. He also understood what Asuka had in mind.
As he was about to move with James, Fasho mocked him, saying, “I won’t give you much time. It’s better to make a decision quickly.”
“Step back. I have a plan.”
As Asuka forcefully gestured with his chin, Andro reluctantly supported James and retreated.
James was not only bleeding but also sweating profusely. He needed treatment. Andro gritted his teeth.
There was no choice now. He had to trust Asuka.
The showdown began.
Fasho played with his dagger, looking at Asuka as if his weakness was obvious.
Seeing how confident he was, it was clear how lightly he was taking them.
There’s no shame in it. The strong look down on the weak, and that’s natural. But sometimes, they get hit back.
‘My heart is pounding.’
Facing such a formidable opponent one-on-one, Asuka had never been in a battle where he might actually die.
Any brilliant plan can become useless once the real fight begins.
But Asuka intended to succeed.
‘If I fail, I die. Not just me, but those two as well.’
Since there’s no way back. And since he has decided to fight alone, the responsibility of failure falls solely on him.
The grace period was over. Fasho lifted the dagger he had been holding loosely.
“Being weak means being powerless. You will die feeling your powerlessness. You look prettier than that guy, so I’ll take care to leave a nice scar.”
“Pervert, stop spouting bullshit! Like that’s going to scare me.”
As Asuka looked disgusted, Fasho let out a low laugh. At the same time, he lunged at Asuka with almost silent footsteps.
Asuka stared intensely at his movements.
In such situations, the advantage usually lies with the stronger party. If the weaker one rashly attacks, they expose themselves and get struck at their vital points. This is especially true when facing assassins.
‘I know how to fight someone stronger than me.’
Asuka recalled his sparring with Charlotte. He had been confident he would win against her. However, the duel dragged on, and it almost ended in a draw.
He remembered her movements. Strategies to not lose against stronger opponents. Move lightly and quickly, fight as if fleeing. Don’t think about winning. Don’t respond even if you see an opening. Minimize movement and endure.
Charlotte lost because she tried to counterattack Asuka.
That was the opposite of how Asuka had fought until now.
But he could do it. He had to.
Fasho, who confidently attacked, was indeed strong. His dagger tore Asuka’s collar and cut his hair, but it didn’t cause more than a minor scratch.
Asuka’s advantage was his quick reflexes. He couldn’t counterattack Fasho’s moves, but he could respond.
A single mistake could mean death. His senses were sharply honed.
Fasho felt the fight was dragging on. It had been 7 minutes since he started attacking aggressively, and there wasn’t much time left.
He doubted Helmut would return so soon, but he decided not to take any risks.
He planned to wrap things up within 5 minutes and escape. The plan formed very comfortably in his mind.
As Fasho’s assault waned, Asuka gasped for air.
‘Damn, this is tough. Helmut, that bastard, leaving me to deal with this freak alone?’
Choosing not to oppose Helmut was the best decision Asuka had ever made in his life. Fasho, stepping back, sneered and said, “Well, you’re quite strong. I acknowledge that. You know how to fight. Those two must seem like a nuisance to you.”
But that was about to end. A bright red bis flared up, wrapping his dagger like flames.
The manifestation of Vis. Something that only those worthy of being called first-class could achieve.
“Farewell!”
A sword charged with manifested Vis possesses enough power to shatter an uncharged sword. Even if it doesn’t break the sword, the sheer force of the Vis can damage the opponent.
It was like a blade of wind flying towards him from behind the blocked sword.
‘Wow, damn it!’
The blade of death was coming at him. Asuka screamed internally.
“Asuka!”
Andro, who had been watching, shouted his name as if screaming. Asuka’s face hardened, and just as Fasho was about to bring his dagger down on him,
Zing. Magic surged from Asuka’s pocket.
‘Magic?’
Fasho stepped back out of caution, but the phenomenon that followed was something he hadn’t anticipated at all.
Nor had anyone else present.
―Group 9! Group 9!
Something inside Asuka’s clothes was emitting a bright light. Asuka’s eyes widened.
‘The crystal ball?’
