Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 303 (Part 2):
Their meeting was about five years ago. However, for both Antiol and Helmut, that encounter remained a vivid memory. Helmut nodded.
“I remember. I’m not sure if it’s going well, though.”
Antiol had told Helmut not to succumb to the Seed of Darkness and to resist fate. But Helmut was eventually consumed by the Seed of Darkness, and it was thanks to Elaga that he was able to escape from it.
However, in a way, meeting Elaga was also part of Helmut’s fate, and now he had left the Forest of Roots once again. Perhaps fate and skill were intertwined, and so far, things had turned out as Antiol had predicted.
‘Thankfully, since there are almost no humans in the Forest of Roots, no one was hurt.’
“You’ve been through a lot. But now you’re standing here in your right mind. That’s enough. Above all, you have a lover and friends who would risk their lives and walk into danger for you.”
Antiol’s eyes were strangely clear. Those eyes showed insight. He was an Archmage but also an old man who had lived for many years.
“What you have will lead you on the right path.”
“The right path, huh.”
“Of course, that right path may not always be a peaceful one. The life of the strong is always like that.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
While this conversation was taking place, Elaga and Igrelle were observing the newcomers with blank stares.
For them, new humans were a new spectacle.
Igrelle was resting deeply, sorting out its wings that were numb from continuous flying.
[There are two shiny-haired humans now. Interesting.]
[Are they twins?]
[No, from what I hear, one’s older. Mother and daughter?]
[I heard she’s her grandmother. But more importantly, didn’t they say these new humans are Archmages? Their magic power is certainly impressive.]
[The air here feels heavy. It’s going to be harder dealing with humans outside the Forest of Roots.]
If they went around eating humans at will just because they left the Forest of Roots, they might be hunted down. Neither of them had any intention of doing so, though.
Elaga snorted.
[That’s your problem. They’re all about the same level to me.]
[Stop bragging. But don’t you think we’re being ignored right now?]
The humans were only talking among themselves. As if they were beasts incapable of speech!
While Sarah and Susan, who were nervously holding hands, could be excused, Elaga and Igrelle were not the type to be ignored anywhere.
‘Helmut, you bastard, shouldn’t you be introducing me?’
The impatient Elaga immediately burst out.
[You lot, why are you chattering without us? Huh? Am I invisible!]
Igrelle also raised its voice, flapping its wings.
[Yeah, are you ignoring the rulers of the Forest of Roots?]
Subtly showing off.
Only then did Heike and Antiol’s gazes turn to them. In fact, even though they were Archmages, they were also shaken by the sight of Elaga and Igrelle.
Having never conversed with demonic beasts before, they didn’t know how to deal with them and had pushed it to the back of the queue.
“My apologies. I’m Heike, an Archmage.”
“I’m Antiol, also an Archmage.”
The two stepped boldly toward the two demonic beasts. They were demonic beasts with intimidatingly large and terrifying demonic energy.
No matter how much they tried to contain their demonic energy, it was difficult to hide their enormous presence.
Helmut introduced them half-heartedly.
“This is Elaga, ruler of the central region of the Forest of Roots. And this is Igrelle, ruler of the southern region.”
“We just heard how you came to be together.”
Heike smiled with her eyes. A wave of seductive magic emanated from her. It was effective not only on humans but also on animals.
However, it didn’t work on Elaga or Igrelle, who possessed powerful demonic natures. Igrelle asked bluntly.
[That shiny-haired human said meeting you would be beneficial to me.]
“You mean Alea?”
Heike asked with a subtle nuance, as if wondering if Igrelle couldn’t remember the name.
Igrelle, who had been internally placing humans below itself and thus not properly using their names, responded grudgingly.
[Y-yes, Alea.]
“Of course. I’m a mage specializing in artifacts. It would be difficult for you to live in the human world in that form. You’d stand out and probably encounter many annoyances. So, I’ve thought of something. Would you like to come along?”
Igrelle agreed immediately.
[Well, even if they’re like flies, humans can be annoying. Fine, let’s go.]
Since everyone else was already part of one group, only Igrelle, who had just joined, needed to follow.
This place was where they had come to meet up. It was safer to leave and erase their traces.
With the Archmages now involved, there was an even better way to leave than using teleportation magic.
Antiol waved his hand in the air, opening an entrance to his hideout.
The circle drawn in the air gradually expanded until it was wide enough for even Igrelle or Elaga to pass through.
He smiled gently.
“Well then, shall we change locations?”
