Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 327 (Part 1):
In Davis’s office, the King of Veneta. Teresa was reporting to the king immediately after returning from Rodril.
“The conversation ended smoothly. Rodril will come to the royal capital, and Your Majesty can have a leisurely discussion with them.”
Teresa appeared slightly excited. This was understandable, as everything had gone according to her plans so far.
She was a mage who graduated at the top of her class from Greta Academy. Her wit and sharp mind were admirable.
Davis stared intently at Teresa’s face, as if trying to unearth something he didn’t already know.
The story he had heard echoed chaotically in his head and heart.
Even a king is an emotional being. Particularly certain emotions are impossibly intense to resist.
The beautiful Teresa Fidelis was the only one who could stir such emotions in Davis, who had risen to the highest position in the Kingdom of Veneta.
“There’s one thing I want to ask.”
“Please, ask.”
Unlike Teresa who responded readily, the king hesitated. Only when Teresa’s brows began to furrow did his lips finally part.
“How did it feel to see your old friends after so long?”
‘Is he suspecting a collusion between me and Rodril?’
Although the king supposedly trusted her, Teresa never believed in such words to begin with.
She knew how easily that trust could be shattered.
Having quickly processed this, Teresa responded almost immediately.
“They weren’t old friends but juniors. Just casual acquaintances. There’s no need for feelings there.”
“You started this whole affair based on those casual acquaintances.”
“I didn’t use the acquaintance as leverage, but rather my knowledge. I merely thought it worth trying because I know them, and they know me.”
Teresa’s voice was confident and full of conviction.
If Davis, who had unexpectedly ascended to the throne, needed to prove himself worthy of being Veneta’s king, then she too needed to prove her worth.
She had risen rapidly and reached the core of power. Not as the daughter of the Duke of Fidelis, but as Teresa Fidelis herself.
To grasp more, one must be willing to take bold risks. If anyone had ambition, it was Teresa, even more than Davis.
“Are you saying you have no personal feelings toward them whatsoever?”
“Of course. I wouldn’t shed a single tear even if any of them died.”
Though it might feel a bit uncomfortable, since they were acquaintances after all. After pondering her response briefly, Davis dismissed her.
As she left the room, Teresa contemplated the king’s strange questions.
‘Why such questions? Did someone from Black Hawk try to drive a wedge between us?’
It was an accurate guess. She was aware that Black Hawk and House Fidelis were competing. But the conclusion was simple.
‘I just need to succeed in this matter.’
The King of Veneta trusted her, and Teresa would show results worthy of that trust.
By doing so, the scales would tip further in her favor. The path ahead of her, as she walked away proudly, seemed bright indeed.

Before departing for the royal capital, Alea first conveyed the situation to Heike.
[So, that’s how it turned out.]
[By the time my research is complete, you’ll be in Veneta’s royal capital rather than Greencana.]
Alea’s communication with Heike wasn’t simply to inform her of their destination.
[In Veneta’s royal capital, how many people might be able to detect the magic cast on Elaga and Igrelle?]
[My magic isn’t that flimsy. Duke Fidelis might notice, or perhaps a High Priest. But I haven’t heard of any High Priest being in the Kingdom of Veneta.]
[Then we’ll have to keep those two away from anywhere Duke Fidelis might be.]
[In any case, if they get excited and release demonic energy, the spell will break. You need to be careful.]
[I don’t think I’m the one who needs to be careful, but I’ll tell them.]
The preparations in Greencana were completed quickly. The members had already been selected. Each one was objectively a formidable force. Moreover, their capabilities were unknown to the other side.
Azer decided to stay behind to look after Greencana.
However, Sian decided to head to the royal palace with Terra. After all, he was the one with connections toTeresa.
Asuka, who was decent enough as a swordsman, would also join them. Charlotte, the Duchess of Renosa, was also a significant presence.
Helmut, Alea, and the unpredictable Igrelle and Elaga rounded out the group.
‘This is enough force to destroy a country.’
Sian thought. Elaga wouldn’t be a problem since he was a cat, but Igrelle’s conspicuous behavior was concerning.
“Why am I a problem? I’ve gotten pretty good at imitating humans.”
She demonstrated the etiquette of a noble greeting the king with fluid grace. From her gait to her speech and gestures, she appeared remarkably human compared to before.
Watching her performance, Sian spoke in astonishment.
“How……”
“You think I’ve been wandering around the village for nothing? Learning isn’t exclusive to humans.”
[Not that I care about such things. Staying quiet suits me just fine.]
Elaga added. Even he seemed to have grown accustomed to living as a cat, currently pinning down a plump passing mouse with his front paw.
Everyone waited for the appointed time in an atmosphere that was neither too tense nor too relaxed.
