The light emanating from Levant’s sacred sword began to fade.

The blessings poured upon him by the High Priests still enveloped him, but Levant abandoned the sacred sword’s overwhelming power.

Helmut’s sword, slipping past the sacred sword, plunged directly into the shattered armor.

They had all resolved to eradicate the one bearing the Seed of Darkness, to complete the holy war, even at the cost of their lives!

Yet none had ever considered defeat, for the Temple had never once lost in such a sacred battle.

Those who followed Lumen’s will were righteous, and the light surrounding them shone brilliantly.

The name of Lumen was a light that dispelled all darkness.

But the darkness dwelling within that man, Helmut, was an abyss.

An abyss that devoured all light.

Faced for the first time with a darkness that overwhelmed their light, they were at a loss for what to do.

Even the eldest High Priest was no exception. This place was shrouded in a moonless night, with no dawn in sight.

At that moment, a telepathic message arrived from Levina.

The Temple had been half-destroyed by a demonic beast and was in grave peril. They must return at once.

One priest let out a sigh-like lament.

Used in times of war to erect barriers to protect the priests, its power wasn’t inherently strong.

It amplified holy power, but it required a steady supply of holy energy to function.

While the priests were reeling in shock and unable to tend to it, the weakened barrier had been breached in a single blow.

Helmut exhaled slowly. His sword hand ached.

His mind remained sharp, but his body felt fatigue for the first time in a long while.

Helmut was exhausted.

Immediately after Levant’s fall, the Holy Knights had rushed at him. Though he hadn’t allowed any attacks to land, merely facing their potent holy power was steadily wearing him down.

His body, touched by holy power, stung as if burned, and his Vis was rapidly depleting.

Like Elaga, he couldn’t replenish his strength here.

Only when this battle ended could he finally rest.

And the end of the battle was drawing near.

Among the flock of white-robed priests, Helmut easily spotted the five High Priests, their ornate garments standing out.

Their presence blazed like five massive torches.

A question struck him unexpectedly.

‘Do they believe even this situation is Lumen’s will?’
