Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 477 (Part 2):
“That means it’s hard for Elaga to fight.”
Sian spoke up.
“For now, I’ll try luring it. Elaga, can you kill your demonic energy for a moment?”
[Yeah.]
The instant Elaga suppressed his demonic energy, Sian spread his hands.
A veil of darkness descended around them. A darkness different from that created by magi.
The strengthened dark spirits enveloped them.
Beyond the darkness that cloaked them, a bright figure of light flickered.
The light moved toward the creature, then soared through the air as if leaping over it. The motion was strikingly similar to Elaga’s jumps.
The creature’s tentacles shot out swiftly into the air.
But the light nimbly evaded the attacks and drifted farther away.
Belatedly, the creature began chasing the light.
Pasasasasa.
The sound of it skimming over the sand echoed loudly.
Sian let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s an illusion created by the light spirit. Pretty convincing, right? To that thing, it should look like us.”
As a demonic beast, it had likely never encountered such an illusion before. Lacking developed demonic nature, it was easily fooled.
The light spirit, with its knack for taunting humans, was quite skilled at luring.
But it wouldn’t last long.
“It’ll figure it out soon. I can’t lure it far from here.”
[Good, let’s go quickly.]
Elaga immediately kicked off the ground and leaped.
Running while cloaked in the curtain of darkness, Elaga soon neared the entrance to the demon realm.
Fortunately, there were no other guardians.
The abyss-like dense fog of magi writhed on all sides, but as they drew closer to the entrance, the air cleared in an instant.
Inside, it was pristine—empty.
“Look over there.”
Everyone stared at the gate to the demon realm.
The gate, like a cracked rock wall with fissures running through it.
It was the entrance to a hidden world at the very bottom of Elaga’s domain.
From the gaps in the cracks, black rays like thin branches extended and coalesced into a circle in the air.
That circle formed a pillar shooting up to the sky.
“Do we have to destroy that circle?”
Levant said with a serious face.
Sian, having leaped down from Elaga’s back without hesitation, moved freely.
“I’ll do it.”
Without waiting for a reply, Sian lay prone right in front of the demon realm’s entrance. His hands pointed toward the ground.
Elaga stood guard over his back, watching the tentacle demonic beast.
His role came next. He knew it instinctively.
From Sian’s body, green and brown energies mixed and burst forth intensely.
The Earth Spirit began its descent.
Sian’s body trembled faintly. A power far too immense for him to digest was surging through.
On the other side, the light spirit luring the tentacle demonic beast gradually faded.
Only then did the tentacle demonic beast realize. The intruders approaching the demon realm’s entrance!
Kraaaaa!
Demonic energy exploded from its body in a torrent.
It whipped its tentacles and charged at the enemies like a tidal wave.
Its sheer presence kicked up sand and created a gale. It was like a sandstorm.
Grains of sand infused with demonic energy struck Elaga’s group.
They weren’t sharp enough to pierce skin, but the force made it hard to keep eyes open.
[Can you handle this on your own?]
Elaga asked doubtfully.
He couldn’t fight that thing which manipulated demonic energy. Moreover, he had something else to do.
The three swordsmen—Luke Yeager, Levant, and Asuka—dismounted from Elaga’s back and faced the creature.
Sian was summoning the Earth Spirit, and Elaga couldn’t fight it.
That left dealing with the creature to the remaining members.
Asuka, Levant, and Luke Yeager drew their swords in unison, as if synchronized.
Luke Yeager grinned.
“Fighting on sand is my specialty.”
“Demonic beasts are a holy knight’s specialty.”
Levant said bluntly. Asuka raised his voice without losing ground.
“If the sandy ground is a problem, why not just freeze it?”
He had a cheat-like magic sword. Luke Yeager’s expression suddenly turned serious.
“We can’t let it get close.”
“Alright, let’s go!”
With Asuka’s shout, they charged forward.
The creature rushing at them with tentacles extended was as massive as a small mansion.
The thick demonic energy rolling in with it was utterly terrifying. Simply standing before it would make most people faint in shock.
But these were unequivocally among the top-tier experts of humanity.
Trembling was for the weak; a swordsman’s role was not that.
Luke Yeager, leaping first into the sandstorm, drove his sword into a tentacle.
Kwadeuk!
The Vis-infused blade dug in but stopped.
‘I thought it would be soft, but it’s tougher than expected?’
“Watch out!”
With a sharp cry, Levant sliced through a tentacle aiming for the halted Luke.
Seogeong!
Surprisingly, it cut cleanly.
“Ah, the holy sword! It really is cheat-level.”
Asuka muttered and cleaved another tentacle.
Kwadeuk!
The spot he cut froze over.
Demonic energy surged from the demonic beast.
Gwooooooo!
Roaring in rage, it extended tentacles toward the three swordsmen.
From the thick tentacles sprouted numerous smaller ones.
“This is insane! Disgusting.”
Asuka recoiled in horror and slashed through the tentacles. The same went for the other two.
Using the creature’s broad body as footing, they leaped and carved relentlessly with their swords.
Kwajijik! Kwadeuk!
Levant’s performance was especially dazzling. Wounds cut by his holy sword did not regenerate.
The opposite of Luke’s cuts, which healed quickly. Asuka’s were in between.
“This puts me at a huge disadvantage.”
Luke muttered, and Asuka shouted.
“Skill bought with money is still skill!”
No one here could deny that fact twice from now on.
The three had astonishingly good synergy.
Not coordinated attacks, but chaotic hit-and-run strikes from all directions that scattered the enemy’s focus.
Yet if one fell into danger, the others swiftly assisted.
The creature couldn’t concentrate to seize even one of them.
Enduring the one-sided assault, it thrashed wildly. The sandstorm grew even fiercer.
