Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 78 (Part 1):
“Shouldn’t we just leave him alone?”
One of them asked as they sharpened their blades.
“He’s going too far. Thinks he’s something special.”
“By avoiding the dirt, he’s only getting more arrogant. Shouldn’t we teach him a lesson?”
Sabbat grinned nastily and stepped forward.
“A crazy dog needs a leash. Let’s take the day and give it a try.”
And so, the target shifted from Helmut to Asuka. No, it became both of them, just a change in priorities.
And Helmut, even from a distance, didn’t miss their conversation.
‘Well, there’s a character like that?’
Helmut found Asuka intriguing. Asuka had claimed to be keeping an eye on Helmut, but Helmut had also started keeping an eye on Asuka.
He had never seen someone as wild as him in the human world. He had some resemblance to Elaga.
That meant he had a personality akin to a demonic beast. At times, Asuka seemed even more unpredictable than Sabbat’s gang when it came to starting arguments.
It was as if he was declaring with his body, ‘I’m the crazy dog of this territory!’
‘In that case, he’s going to have a lot of enemies.’
Anyway, Sabbat and his friends didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving Asuka alone.
Helmut suddenly became curious. Could that Asuka guy, who was essentially the top student of the second year in the fencing department and known as both a madman and a genius, take on ten or more fencing students by himself?
In practice, it was difficult to gauge human strength. He knew who was weaker than him.
It was difficult to measure the difference in strength among those weaker than himself.
‘This is going to get interesting.’
A faint smile crossed Helmut’s lips.
Fencing department classes were ultimately similar to what Darien had taught. They trained their bodies, practiced the Vis training techniques, and practiced fencing.
It had already become Helmut’s daily routine. He had surpassed the point where he needed someone else’s teaching.
There were no students here who could be his competition.
Watching the upcoming event was a small pleasure for Helmut.

On that day, Helmut met Alea after a long time.
When the semester started, Alea had been busy. The number of days he had entered the dormitory before Helmut could be counted on one hand.
When Helmut changed into his training clothes and headed to the training ground first, Alea had entered and fallen asleep before Helmut even returned.
But today, Alea had returned earlier than usual.
“It looks like Alea is going to rip my spine out!”
On his way, Helmut overheard Sian crying out.
It seemed that Alea was engrossed in new magical research using his spirits, as promised upon.
Today, it seemed that Sian’s resistance was strong enough to take a break.
Alea, who was sitting by the window, asked, “How’s life in the Fencing Department lately? Are you adapting well?”
“Adapting, I guess.”
Helmut replied casually. The only privilege he received was permission to use Ethan’s training ground.
Being known as a commoner justified the privileges he received, as it was known that he was subject to harassment.
So, apart from class time, Helmut didn’t really clash with the Fencing Department students.
Especially during the early days of the semester when they were stretching their bodies, he had even less reason to.
“Aren’t you practicing just fencing? Even if the Fencing Department guys have empty heads for theory subjects, they should study ahead. It’s a class that other department students take too. If you’re going to be known as Ethan’s protege, you should get decent grades, right? For Ethan’s sake.”
Helmut found it annoying that no matter what he did, “for Ethan’s sake” always followed.
There were many perks thanks to Ethan’s support, but this part was uncomfortable.
Helmut replied lightly, “It’ll be fine. I remember all the class material.”
Helmut had good concentration and a good memory.
Knowing this, Alea closed his mouth.
He himself was also being called a genius, but Helmut somehow irritated him.
The most humane time was when he grumbled while studying for exams.
Even now, he heard that he was being ostracized in the Fencing Department, but he didn’t seem to care at all.
And as Alea thought, Helmut seemed unfazed. In terms of feeling hurt or feeling isolated, at least.
After all, a predator didn’t mix with a rabbit herd.
In Helmut’s eyes, no matter how annoying they tried to be, the Fencing Department guys felt no more intimidating than a herd of rabbits.
From the beginning, they were beings that couldn’t mix. Among the newcomers, there was one guy who was something between a predator and a herbivore, like a fox or a dog, rather than a rabbit.
Helmut suddenly said, “Instead, maybe I should raise a dog.”
Alea was disgusted.
“A dog? You’re not thinking of bringing a dog into the dormitory, are you? Don’t even dream about it. I’ll report it, so be prepared.”
It seemed like he misunderstood Helmut’s intention as wanting to bring a dog into the room.
‘I already have something similar.’
Helmut thought as he stared at Alea, but he didn’t bother to say it out loud. It was obvious that Alea would jump around in agitation.
“I won’t bring one in.”
“A dog from the Kudro Mansion? Why would you even think about raising a dog? What if it gets hair everywhere? No, do you even have time to take care of it?”
Listening to Alea’s grumbling that had turned into nagging, Helmut was lost in thought. A leisurely time was passing by.
