Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 82 (Part 2):
“Don’t you see my face?”
Asuka pointed to his split lip and pleaded.
Patricia, the instructor who couldn’t possibly be unaware of the fact that he had been attacked during the holiday and ended up bloody, was unyielding.
But she said it coolly.
“You look quite healthy. Enough to thrash other students, it seems. You better give a proper reason. If you don’t want to almost die yesterday and avoid running on the field today, that is.”
Asuka cursed inwardly, calling her a heartless witch, and muttered with resentment.
“I went out into the city on holiday and got attacked by some guys called Black Hawk. I was on the verge of life and death. But the bastards I managed to hand over to the soldiers managed to escape, what’s up with that?”
“Instructor, please understand. I’m scared that those guys who ran away might attack me, so I’ve become sensitive. It’s to the point where I might develop paranoia and think anyone who argues with me is trying to attack me.”
His voice was loud enough for everyone present to hear. Everyone listened intently.
Instructor Patricia sighed. She didn’t know what crime she had committed to deal with this troublesome situation.
It was a dilemma she had encountered in her otherwise smooth career as an instructor. Other instructors had also given up on Asuka.
“So, you’re saying someone over there started the argument?”
“That’s correct.”
“How did they start the argument?”
“They were just enjoying the fact that I got stabbed. Those guys.”
Asuka’s finger pointed precisely at those who had provoked him.
“Several of them started the argument, is that it?”
“Instructor! He’s the one who used violence, not us!”
“That’s an issue that should definitely be punished. But is it right to engage in an argument with several people?”
“Yes, and I only punched one of them and forgave the others generously.”
Suppressing her skyrocketing blood pressure, Instructor Patricia looked at Asuka with disbelief.
Erun, who had just stopped bleeding from his nose, couldn’t hold back and shouted.
“Are you going to just let him go like this? He’s obviously not in his right mind! He’s acting like a maniac!”
“If you tease me, I’ll attack you one by one.”
“Asuka!”
Smack! The second strike hit Asuka’s head. This time, it hurt enough to bring tears to his eyes.
No matter how angry Asuka was, he wouldn’t confront the instructor. He wrapped his head with his hands and pretended to be in pain.
“Instructor, please stop hitting me!”
“I’ll officially bill you for the medical expenses for this injury! Let’s see if you can pay for it!”
Asuka taunted Erun, who was shouting loudly.
“Go tell your family about it! Mom, Dad, I got punched by a commoner at the academy! Please kill that bastard! Waaaah! Oh well, understood. My useless son!”
Smack! The third strike hit Asuka’s head. After taking a deep breath, Instructor Patricia spoke.
“Alright, gentlemen? Get his wounds treated first. Just keep in mind that this guy’s a maniac when you talk to him in the future. And Asuka! Come with me.”
Instructor Patricia grabbed Asuka’s ear.
Asuka, making a fuss and exaggerating everything, was dragged along by her.
After they disappeared from view, the students of the swordsmanship department continued their conversation without much enthusiasm.
“It was quite noisy…”
“What a windy day.”
Helmut, deeply empathizing with that statement, raised his wooden sword.
He had always been confident in his ability to focus on training in any kind of disturbance, but that confidence had crumbled today.
He had to admit it. Asuka was truly a troublesome guy.
‘Man, I had to write a ten-page reflection letter. My fingers are killing me. That witch has absolutely no mercy.’
Asuka grumbled as he approached. His exaggerated complaints were excessive even for someone who easily ran 20 laps around the track.
Helmut was sitting on a bench on the first floor of the dormitory with Sian.
Well, to be precise, Helmut had been kind of locked by Sian, who was on his way to the training ground.
His training had been constantly disrupted at the academy where he was supposed to learn swordsmanship every day.
Sian waved his hand in greeting.
“Hey there, Asuka! I heard there was a fight in the Swordsmanship Department, and I thought it had to be you.”
That’s why he had grabbed Helmut to ask about it. Helmut gave a brief explanation.
“I hit this guy named Erun and made his nose bleed. He got taken away by the instructor.”
“The guy who started the argument is at fault. Why should I have to write a reflection letter?”
Asuka muttered shamelessly. It’s doubtful how this guy even passed the ethics test.
Helmut thought the academy’s entrance exam was quite lax. At this rate, even a notorious murderer could get admitted to the academy without any issues.
Asuka looked back and forth between Sian and Helmut.
“How do you two even know each other when you’re from different departments? This guy just transferred recently.”
“Well, there’s a story to that.”
When he briefly explained the ghost incident, Asuka became interested.
“Well, that’s an interesting story.”
Sian had a question too.
“How do you get along with the guy you share a room with?”
The fact is nobody would want to share a room with a crazy dog from the Swordsmanship Department, right? yet he had never heard any complaints about it.
It was strange that a troublemaker like Asuka, who constantly started fights, didn’t cause any problems in the dormitory. It was like a miracle.
Asuka scratched his head.
“I’ve been sharing a room with the same guy since last year, and he doesn’t even know my name? He’s always wandering around with vacant eyes. What was his name again, Colin or something?”
“Oh, Colin. He’s known as a weirdo even in the Magic Department.”
Helmut was with Alea, and Asuka was with Colin. They had grouped together the troublesome guys, and somehow, there was a balance.
Regardless of who assigned them, it was a stroke of genius.
