Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 90 (Part 1):
“Damn, you’re more of a man of action than words.”
Somehow, it’s an unpleasant reaction. Helmut raised his eyebrows. Sian, who had sensitively detected his reaction, intervened.
“Still, it’s a relief that the culprit was caught. There won’t be such incidents in the future, right?”
“I don’t know. Will the guys who use people and even steal back off just because they got caught once?”
Asuka was right. It doesn’t seem like this will be the end.
The guys from the swordsmanship department were slowly turning this way, but they could turn back depending on what Asuka does.
“How was it last year? Didn’t you have a similar incident last year?”
Sian casually asked. In fact, not many people knew about what happened last year.
A fight broke out in a deserted schoolyard, and Asuka bit someone’s ear. That was the known story of the incident.
Even in the swordsmanship department, there were few who knew the full story, and the guys who caused the incident were not around as they transferred to other academies nearby or dropped out.
The only ones who could answer were the instructor and Asuka, but so far, no one has dared to ask Asuka.
“Well, there were several fights, but the decisive one… last year, they just called me to a deserted place and openly attacked me. Were there five of them? It was just a brawl. Honestly, the guys who jumped me last year were of a higher level than this year. It wasn’t easy for me alone.”
“What about biting the ear?”
“If I act crazy here, they’ll shrink back there. Isn’t that obvious?”
It feels like a beast that deliberately shows its teeth and growls threateningly.
Asuka was instinctive. He instinctively knows how to choose what is advantageous for him.
The likelihood that he yielded to Helmut for that reason was high.
“So, you wanted to avoid punishment this year? Then, no matter what anyone says, try to endure it. Helmut is enduring well.”
“That guy, no, he just has no emotions. He’s always swinging his wooden sword with a blank expression. He’s not a person, maybe he’s a doll or something.”
Asuka quickly changed his vocabulary, seemingly conscious of Helmut’s warning to watch his words. It was a somewhat softened tone. Sian felt that and laughed.
“A doll? That’s not something you should say. Helmut helped in your treatment and ended up owing Alea.”
Just then, Sian remembered the incident and asked.
“What did Alea ask for?”
If it’s Alea, she wouldn’t just end it with words, she would demand a hefty price. Sian could guarantee it.
“Not yet. She said she would tell me when she needs it.”
“Besides, Asuka. We helped you, don’t you have anything you want to say?”
“What do you mean?”
Asuka reacted dumbly. That day, he didn’t even say thank you, but just lost his temper and disappeared. He was a shameless guy.
His attitude seemed to be subtly saying thank you, but it seemed difficult to unify it to his mouth.
“What are you doing this holiday?”
“I don’t have much to do.”
“I thought so. Well, I have a good idea for you. You can repay us for helping you.”
“What, you mean hanging out with you guys on the holiday?”
Helmut’s gaze was fixed on Sian. He spoke as if it was a matter of course, even though he had not agreed. As if he had preempted Helmut’s holiday.
While it was a reasonable assumption, they had never discussed it.
“So, you’re not going to wash your mouth out just like that, are you?”
Unexpectedly, Asuka responded obediently.
“What, you want me to buy you food? Okay, but it can’t be expensive? The cost of living in Baden is high. I’m not in a good financial situation either.”
“We’re all commoners, we don’t ask for much. I know a good place…”
Sian excitedly explained about a place where you can drink cool beer cheaply.
Helmut looked towards the clock tower. There was about 10 minutes left.
There wasn’t much time left to stop by the locker.
“It’s almost class time.”
Looking back, he could have just handed over the textbook and left, but he unnecessarily stayed and had his holiday taken away.
Or not? It would have ended up like this anyway. Sian knew well how to subtly get what he wanted from the other person.
And as one of the few friends of Helmut, he also earned Ethan’s trust. Not that Ethan particularly disliked Asuka.
“Oh, right. I have to go too. I have to put this in the locker.”
Asuka stood up from his seat. Sian asked from the bench, resting his chin on his hand.
“Can you ask Alea if he’s going too?”
“He won’t go. And why should I buy him food.”
Asuka quickly retorted. It seemed that his tolerance range was up to Sian.
Asuka and Alea were polar opposites. If the two of them sat together for just five minutes, that place would turn into a battlefield.
Helmut also didn’t think Alea would agree. She hadn’t explicitly said anything to Helmut, but in the current situation, with him sticking around like a leech in an uncomfortable situation, he had no reason to accompany them.
Alea was just as exclusive as Asuka, if not more so. She had her reasons for that.
“The one who healed you was Alea. Looking at your wound, even though he was going to get a reward from Helmut, he still took care of your treatment, didn’t he? So, Helmut, you ask him.”
“You ask him.”
“Alea won’t listen to what I say. You’re different.”
“I have to go.”
No matter what Sian babbled about, Helmut took big strides.
Asuka ran after him, following him. It really felt like raising a dog.
They put the textbook in the locker and headed straight to the class.
“We arrived just one minute before.”
Asuka grumbled next to him. The eyes of those who came together poured out. The gaze was a little different from yesterday.
It can’t be said to be friendly, but it’s not hostile either.
Sabbat, Jerome, Erun, and the two guys who clashed with them. In total, five guys from that gang were backed into a corner.
Looking at what they’re doing, they won’t be able to pick a fight for a while.
