Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 90 (Part 2):
From the other side, Patricia, the instructor, appeared with a leisurely stride. She shone her sharp eyes and carefully took in her students, especially Helmut and Asuka.
She intended to monitor them so that they wouldn’t cause any more trouble, as they were the problem children of the week.
“Is everyone here?”
After taking attendance, Instructor Patricia immediately started the basic class.
Due to the unpleasant incident that happened yesterday, dueling was prohibited.
Once again, the students of the Swordsmanship Department had to repeat the boring basic training.
Unlike the Academic Department or the Magic Department where something new pops up every day, the pattern of swordsmanship classes was somewhat monotonous.
Swordsmanship is like a habit ingrained in the body. One must continuously maintain the correct posture and train the body.
Just as muscles don’t grow overnight, habits don’t form overnight either.
The teaching of the Swordsmanship Department aims to firmly instill the basics in students and improve their skills through competition.
Dueling, competition, and teaching bring new enlightenment. It’s not a huge shortcut, but all the students who graduated from Greta Academy were recognized for their skills.
Graduation itself is impossible without passing the exam.
In the same daily routine, maintaining discipline, going through competition, and training system.
Greta Academy’s Swordsmanship Department provided that system to the students.
It’s not for nothing that the graduates of famous swordsmanship schools enroll in the academy.
From the beginning, Helmut met a harsh and thorough teacher and developed a habit of training on his own.
So, for Helmut, the swordsmanship class was easy. Even the monotonous and strenuous training of the Swordsmanship Department didn’t feel boring.
He easily finished things like muscle training with push-ups or horse-riding posture without using bis, and increasing lung capacity by running around the playground at a fast speed.
“Everyone, rest for 20 minutes!”
Today, Instructor Patricia, who was particularly tough on the students, declared a break, and everyone, including Asuka, collapsed on the ground, exhausted. Helmut was the only one still standing.
Today, he broke a slight sweat. Wiping the sweat that had formed like steam on his white forehead, Helmut sat down in the shade.
It felt like his body had loosened up a bit. There was a slight tingling sensation in his muscles.
Instructor Patricia, who was approaching, raised an eyebrow and asked.
“How’s the class, soldier? Seems bearable.”
“It’s not hard.”
At least for him.
However, as soon as he said that, he felt the collective gaze of the others.
They were worried that Instructor Patricia would increase the intensity of the class because of Helmut’s words.
“The other guys don’t seem to think so. Have you always been training this hard? You look familiar with it.”
She seemed to subtly dig into Helmut.
‘Isn’t this much unspeakable?’
Helmut pondered for a moment and then answered. But Helmut’s answer was unexpected to Patricia.
“I think I did about five times this much.”
“Five times…?”
“Are you crazy?”
“Is that even possible for a person’s stamina?”
The surrounding students murmured. Somehow, they hadn’t thought much of running 100 laps around the training field before. Now, they were astounded by Helmut’s words.
“It’s not good to torture your body from too young an age. Aren’t your muscles hurt?” Instructor Patricia inquired.
“My teacher didn’t think so. He thought that as long as people don’t die, they become stronger the more they are pushed to the limit.”
Helmut, who had the Seed of Darkness, knew that he wouldn’t die easily.
High-intensity training is hard to maintain, but Darien made it sustainable. Semi-forced.
Beating and rolling around, having a good meal, feeling a bit uplifted, then being thrown back into hell, repeating this cycle until his mind was emptied. There was no one to escape to, and he had the determination to become stronger.
Helmut also felt something about Darien’s teaching.
When he passed through the barrier and almost died, his body was completely emptied, and because of that, he was able to absorb more Vis.
Perhaps the closer to death, the greater the progress.
Passing through the barrier was too risky to attempt again, but it had been worth it.
Instructor Patricia made a bored expression. But she soon nodded her head.
“That’s a valuable lesson. I’ll keep it in mind for future classes.”
Helmut added on the spur of the moment.
Taking advantage of the situation, Helmut added, “And right now, the training intensity seems too low. Shouldn’t we increase it a bit?”
The reason why he could torment his opponent, whether he was a commoner or not, was because he had stamina left.
If they rolled around to the point of exhaustion, they wouldn’t have the energy to resist.
In the afternoon, the classes are mainly theoretical or cultural, so you can rest your body, so shouldn’t you increase the intensity a bit more in the morning? Helmut thought simply.
Every day, training at this level of intensity felt lacking.
“Good point.”
Instructor Patricia nodded her head at once. As Helmut said, the training intensity seemed weak.
But it’s still a semester. She was thinking of gradually increasing it, but her mind changed when she heard from the student that the training intensity was weak.
“From the next class, we’ll try to increase the intensity.”
While Instructor Patricia positively accepted Helmut’s remarks, the other second-year students couldn’t.
‘What kind of guy is that!’
‘Devil-like guy!’
‘Are you kidding?’
It seemed like he was paying back for watching the behavior of the Sabbat gang all this time.
Ignoring the glaring eyes pouring on him, Helmut stood up with his wooden sword.
The break time was too long. 20 minutes. If you train this easily, a talented guy like Asuka is the top in skill.
His body had loosened up a bit, so he thought he’d lightly swing his sword. Asuka muttered as he lay down.
“Terrible guy.”
Due to his remarks, Helmut became the public enemy of the Swordsmanship Department, regardless of his intention.
But the opportunity to improve his image came quickly.
