How the Regressed Munchkin Chews Up the Tower - H.R.M.C.U.T Chapter 35 (Part 2):
“You both hit level 24, right? I told you to gain at least one more level by today.”
At Yujin’s words, both of them subtly averted their gazes.
“Well, uh, things suddenly came up, and….”
It was a valid reason.
One anyone would accept.
But Yujin wasn’t just anyone.
“You couldn’t even do what I asked and you’re just fooling around here?”
“Who’s fooling around?!”
Ishia snapped, but Yujin was quicker.
“Aren’t you going to go hunt? Or should I just leave you behind and move on?”
A chilling threat.
It was scarier than when Didaskalia had threatened to kill them earlier.
“I-I’m going!”
Ishia shouted, turning around.
And then she saw it.
Park Jihoo’s back, already sprinting off into the distance.
‘That kid’s fast.’
She couldn’t quite figure out his personality.
Shaking her head, Ishia quickly dashed off.
‘I need to reach the fifth floor!’
The Administrator, Didaskalia, had clearly said during the tutorial floor.
Every fifth floor, they could go outside.
It was only for a week, but still, wasn’t that something?
She had to get stronger quickly, climb to the fifth floor with that monster of a man.
As fast as possible.
As soon as possible.
Even a second faster.
* * *
Progress was smooth.
There were slight hiccups in the plan along the way, but overall, it was satisfactory enough.
‘All thanks to the 【Akasha System 2.0】.’
Yujin was thrilled with the enhanced system’s performance.
After forming a party, experience points were accumulating at an absurd rate.
Plus, the rewards from daily quests were substantial, so he was growing at breakneck speed, like a sailboat catching a tailwind.
‘The fourth floor’s almost done already.’
Bickering and hunting like crazy with Ishia and Park Jihoo.
Before he knew it, they’d reached the fourth floor.
Yujin’s current level was 31.
The other two had hit level 30.
It was a massive difference compared to his first run.
‘Back then, I was around level 20 when I reached the fourth floor, right?’
Not exact, but something like that.
A ten-level difference.
That alone showed how effective the party and daily quests were.
Though, regrettably, he hadn’t used the shop yet.
“Hmm.”
Yujin’s gaze turned forward.
A scene completely at odds with his relaxed demeanor unfolded.
*Kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwang-!*
“Die, you bastard!”
Ishia’s sword sliced through the air.
*Shibam-kwang!*
Park Jihoo’s fist distorted the atmosphere.
‘I still can’t figure that kid’s character out.’
*Kraaaaaak-!*
A massive roar, far different from the light battle cries of the two, shook the space.
“Flame Dragon.”
The gatekeeper of the fourth floor.
Despite its grandiose name, it was closer to a lizard spewing flames.
But its power was worthy of a sub-dragon, matching the strength of the two at level 30.
“Should I help out a bit?”
Ishia’s sword was effective against the Flame Dragon.
Its tough scales split with a crack-.
But Park Jihoo’s gauntlets? Not so much.
The compatibility just wasn’t there.
Pure physical strikes struggled to deal meaningful damage to the Flame Dragon.
He was punching away as hard as he could, but…
“There’s a gap in their items.”
Compared to 『Black Wing [C]』, Park Jihoo’s no-name cheap gauntlets were far too weak.
Probably E-grade, or at best, D-grade.
“I should get him something better.”
It was decent enough up to the tenth floor, but it had its limits when the matchup was bad.
Considering that, it was about time to get him something good.
“For now, let’s deal with the situation at hand.”
The two were struggling against the Flame Dragon, but lacking proper skills and traits, it was taking them a long time.
This was a boss monster designed for dozens of players to raid, not just two.
Even at level 30, it was only natural they’d find it tough.
“Step back, both of you.”
As Yujin spoke softly, the two immediately pulled away from the Flame Dragon, as if they’d been waiting for it.
“I’m helping just this once. From the fifth floor, you’re on your own.”
He gathered his mana.
Since 『Fire Dragon Blade [E]』 was broken, he’d have to face it with direct strikes.
*Wuuuuung-.*
The mana concentrated in none other than his fist.
“Park Jihoo, watch closely.”
Yujin glanced at the boy who’d sidled up next to him, then stomped the ground.
*Kuuung-!*
The earth shook as if an earthquake had struck.
Immense power surged through his legs.
Feeling it, Yujin rotated his body.
Ankle, knee, waist, shoulder, and elbow.
Every joint moved smoothly, transferring perfect force.
*Paaang-!*
His outstretched fist collided with the Flame Dragon’s scales.
The sound wasn’t loud.
Just the noise of air bursting.
But the result was different.
The Flame Dragon, which had been rampaging wildly, stopped moving.
A massive hole, big enough to fit ten fists, had been punched through it.
Red blood dripped- from Yujin’s outstretched hand.
“This is a fist.”
He spoke to Park Jihoo, who was staring wide-eyed.
