“Still, he’s an Aura Master in appearance, so he shouldn’t be dead, right? I didn’t use the Magic Staff, so its power must have diminished.”
The merciless attacks left all the cast and crew stunned. The protective barriers, created to withstand the might of magic, were momentarily shattered and then restored.
The power of 7-Circle magic was formidable, capable of reducing a castle to rubble with each spell. Considering its role as the main cannon of the sky fortress, it was natural for everyone to worry about the heavily injured Felix the Count.
“Medics! Lady Ivril! Hurry!”
The MCs urgently called for medical staff and Ivril, who was a candidate for Saintess. A crowd of people, including Ivril, rushed in.
“No need to worry.”
I reassured them, extending my hand despite the chaotic scene on the set.
“I used an appropriate amount of power, so he shouldn’t be dead.”
“This… you call using an appropriate amount of power?”
“You saw that he didn’t use his Magic Staff.”
“Ah…”
Using the magical glasses, I examined Felix and confirmed that he was still alive. As I magically cleaned up the battlefield filled with flames and smoke, the sight of the burnt Vanguard with a Force Sword planted in the ground at the center caught my eye.
*Sizzling*
Following that, the Force equipment worn by Felix shattered like glass.
“Cowardly…”
And Felix, with white smoke, uttered those words once again as he collapsed.
Force equipment costing more than 50 billion was ultimately destroyed by the shock.
However, if he had used the Magic Staff, it wouldn’t have been just the destruction of the equipment; he would have been truly dead.
The Magic Staff created by Archduke Lucas had high efficiency, so the spell power could increase by about 50% or so.
Ivril used healing magic, and the medical team quickly applied potions to treat him.
Perhaps due to the sacrifice of the Force equipment, the wearer’s injuries didn’t seem too severe.
He might recover soon, right?
“Um, with this battle, we technically declare Marquis Lawrence’s victory, but… this is a bit unusual.”
The Judge showed a puzzled reaction while looking at me.
This reaction implied doubt about whether this was a proper duel.
I responded simply, “In real battles, such situations can occur.”
Originally, my argument was that a mage could utilize a variety of spells in combat.
However, so far, I have only shown four spells, so my argument couldn’t carry much weight.
Nevertheless, one clear fact was that Felix had fainted twice during the battle, which seemed to weaken the notion that mages were weak in combat.
Due to the one-sided magical assault that could be described as harassment, even people who had a negative image of Count Felix were starting to sympathize with him.
“If Count Felix intends to fight again, I’ll make sure not to use the same spell repeatedly with Memorize ability. I’ll try to use magic in various ways.”
“Gah! Do you think this method will be accepted? We should have a proper rematch.”
“Oh, he’s waking up.”
Count Felix struggled to his feet.
His Force equipment was destroyed, and his clothes turned into rags, but his eyes were still wide open.
His determination was commendable.
“Count Felix, are you sure you’ll be okay?”
Now, people were more concerned about Felix than me.
Felix, who hadn’t expected such a reaction, responded gruffly to MC’s question.
“Are you saying this to me now?”
“Oh, no, not at all. It seems like you should change your clothes first.”
“Tsk, maybe you’re right.”
With Jimmy’s suggestion, Felix, realizing the state of his appearance, reluctantly withdrew.
I spoke to his retreating back.
“Please contact my agents to pay for the destroyed Force equipment.”
“There’s no need!”
He yelled and left the shooting area.
What’s that pride of his? He could have easily earned 50 billion if he just accepted it.
With Felix’s departure, the shooting took a brief break.
I approached Ivril, patted her on the back for her hard work, then occupied the seat next to Arcia, who was enthusiastically eating popcorn.
“Although it’s a battle, doesn’t it seem like you went overboard? Count Felix was so excited.”
To me, Jimmy, the MC, approached and expressed his concern.
It seemed that he had noticed that I was teasing Felix.
“The more excited he gets, the less likely he is to win in a fight.”
“Is that so? Well, it’s… Even though it’s a broadcast, I feel trembled.”
I wanted to talk to him first, but he came over like this.
I asked him, saying everything was going well.
“I heard that Jimmy is famous for having a wide network in the entertainment industry, both domestically and internationally.”
“Well, I do have a lot of close friends.”
“Can I use your connections a bit?”
“Hmm?”
He gave me a puzzled look at the unexpected topic, and I smiled, clarifying that I didn’t bring up this conversation to threaten him.
“I’m thinking of having Ivril appear on a broadcast to boost her recognition, but I lack connections in this field. It may sound a bit self-serving, but with my status, isn’t it quite a tempting offer?”
“Well, Marquis Lawrence is already a highly regarded noble among commoners. Moreover, you are suitable for broadcasting, have good looks, and are talented, so there should be many opportunities available.”
After a brief moment of consideration, he seemed to judge that it wasn’t a bad idea for himself either.
If he could make good use of me, he might be able to owe favors to his acquaintances.
“Alright then. Let me try to be a manager. I’ll bring you plenty of opportunities.”
“Haha, thank you. I’ll make sure to show my appreciation.”
“Oh, appreciation? It’s not about material rewards; forming a connection with Lord Lawrence is a much greater benefit.”
It’s fortunate that he’s an easygoing person to talk to.
However, even though I initiated the request, I silently sighed at the prospect of multiple broadcast appearances.
I ended up looking like the brain behind Ivril’s Saintess Creation Camp, as ‘Eric’ intended.
“I’m ready!”
Felix, who alternated between formal and informal speech, depending on his mood, addressed me. He had been completely set up, even his hair was immaculate.
“Luckily, you had spare Force equipment, didn’t you?”
“Do you need to talk longer?”
Clearly agitated, he once again looked towards the judge, who sent me a questioning glance.
I gave him an okay sign in response.
The judge had no choice but to start the countdown.
“This time, I won’t launch a surprise attack, so feel free to run without worries.”
“Thinking about letting up your tramp card against me? You’ll regret it.”
Whether I give up my tramp card or not, he was wearing Vanguard armor, while I continued to get nerfs during his duel.
Wouldn’t viewers who watched the Anthony 10th-anniversary special think like this?
In reality, a knight shouldn’t be a match for a mage, right?
I remained composed, twirling my magic staff and loosening my body.
My actions resembled those of a spear master more than a mage.

And the final duel began.
* * *
“Huh? Earl Elfrid?”
“Oh? Duchess of Riverdale?”
Olivia Riverdale who was currently busy with the ongoing war in Bringum Empire, met someone she didn’t expect to encounter in an unlikely place. She wore a bewildered expression.
However, the problem was that the expression on her counterpart’s face wasn’t significantly different.
About a month ago, they had met once more with the common theme of Adrian during their investigation of Adrian’s Lordship War. The locations of Olivia Riverdale and Elfrid were famous for being dueling islands in the Jordi Kingdom.
Today, Adrian was filming on one of those islands, and they coincidentally crossed paths in the VIP room of the arena where the duel with Aura master was to take place. Olivia was accompanied by her colleague Preston, while Elfrid was with her apprentice and deputy head of the Information Department, Viscount Joseph.
Witnessing the two women, who clearly had some unresolved issues, the others in the group had to suppress their amusement.
“We thought you’d be busy with the war these days.”
“Facing the might of our empire, will the Prius Republic stand a chance? Our situation here isn’t significantly different from usual.”
“Why do you keep showing interest in our apprentice?”
“I’m just interested as a fellow mage. That’s why I brought my apprentice to observe his battle.”
“Is that so? Hmmm.”
The two lower-ranking men, comrades but lower in the hierarchy, kept quiet in the presence of the two women whose sparks were flying.
Not only the two women but also the VIP room was filled with numerous individuals, including royalty from the Jordi Kingdom.
A direct confrontation between an Archmage and an Aura master was a rare spectacle to witness outside of the battlefield.
“Master, it looks like they’re about to begin.”
Joseph intervened between the two women who were glaring at each other.
In response, lady Riverdale and Elfrid quickly took their seats with brisk steps.
Wasn’t it annoying that their seats had been assigned side by side?
“Ho-oh…”
“Count Felix. How foolish.”
Everyone except for Lady Riverdale and Elfrid’s party seemed to expect the outcome to be quite obvious. However, once the first round began, exclamations of amazement echoed from various places.
While they had thought that Adrian, with space teleportation magic at his disposal, would undoubtedly win, they hadn’t expected that he would be toyed with and the outcome would be so one-sided.
Thanks to this, Lady Riverdale covered her forehead with her hand. She wanted to support her fellow magician, but she didn’t want Felix, a fellow noble from the same kingdom, to be defeated so easily.
“They underestimated the mage too much.”
“Perhaps the next round will be different. Felix won’t let his guard down, and lord Lawrence can’t use space teleportation magic.”
However, the second round was even more serious than the first, and it was by no means less intense.
-Quaaaaaaaang!
-Drrrrrrrrrum!
“Uwaaah!”
“Kyaaah!”
The VIP room, far from the dueling arena, shook violently as if it might collapse at any moment due to the commotion.
However, Lady Riverdale, who knew that this facility wouldn’t easily crumble, had to sigh more at Felix’s foolishness than the aftermath of the explosion.
“Doesn’t he have evasion spells in his mental lexicon?”
Charging head-on towards an opponent who had 7th-circle magic stored in Memorize Magic was the worst choice.
“In reality, it’s easier to watch and critique from a distance. In actual combat, moving as you think is not that easy. Felix’s charge was too simple, but Marquis Lawrence’s strike, aimed at an unavoidable distance and timing, was exceptional.”
“That may be true, but…”
“This battle will be a great opportunity for him. At least you won’t have to die like that stupidly on the battlefield, right?”
The Duchess of Riverdale had to click her tongue at the sight of Elfrid going back and forth between mocking and shielding.
However, separate from them, Preston and Joseph, who had joined them, were captivated by Adrian’s dazzling performance and paid no attention to their conversation.
And so, the third round began.
When a fierce battle unlike any before began, everyone was not just amazed but shocked.
“What kind of mage is he?”
“Can such a thing even be possible?”
“Look, there’s a possible candidate right there.”
It was because Adrian was engaged in close combat against an Aura master-level Vanguard.
Lady Riverdale and Elfrid, on the other hand, raised the corners of their mouths, saying they wanted to see this.
“It seems like the perception of mages is already starting to change.”
