One Punch Of Justice - O.P.J Chapter 56: You're Nothing at All
Meanwhile, Saitama’s anticipation grew as he impatiently awaited the next thunderous strike.
Shifting his gaze, he narrowed his eyes and confronted the middle-aged woman, who stood before him in utter disbelief. “Your so-called ‘God’ is a total disappointment, acting like a spoiled child… I gotta ask, why do you still believe in such a lousy deity?”
“It’s not blind faith,” the middle-aged woman responded, her voice tinged with a mix of apprehension and conviction. She swallowed nervously, her gaze locked onto Saitama as if searching for understanding.
“On these islands, the leaders are called ‘gods.’ Enel, by defeating the previous gods, became the new ruler who controls the sky islands with immense power…”
“I see it now…”
Tashigi whispered, her eyes widening in understanding. She let out a deep sigh and spoke with a tinge of disappointment, “Controlling the power of lightning…
that person is truly possesses an awe-inspiring strength, almost godlike.
The ability to oversee everything and enforce righteous justice from the sky should have been employed to protect and uplift society.”
“Yeah… Yeah…” Saitama narrowed his eyes, looking up at the sky. “Oh, and don’t forget, he’s also incredibly dull…”
Tashigi looked at him with a smile and said, “It’s disheartening to see such incredible power being misused for cruel dictatorship…” She paused, her expression thoughtful, before continuing, “Why can’t there be more people like you, Saitama-san?
Not only are you the most powerful person I’ve ever crossed paths with, but your unwavering spirit of justice is truly unparalleled.”
“Because it’s easy to quit, but sticking with it is hard.” He looked at her, weariness evident in his eyes. “When you suddenly gain incredible power, just one wrong move can turn you into that kind of person…”
She nodded solemnly. “You’re absolutely right, Saitama-san… Unfortunately, not everyone possesses the same values as you do.”
“I’ve actually thought about it sometimes…” His gaze drifted, lost in thought. “Being too powerful, emotions gradually fade. Do they really find happiness in using such power for evil?”
Tashigi stared at him, a mix of surprise and disbelief in her eyes. Then, she couldn’t help but smile. “But Saitama-san, you would never do something like that, right?”
“Hmm…”
Saitama nodded, his gaze unwavering. “Nope.”
He affirmed with conviction, “Because I’m a hero!”
In the realm of simplicity, words carry profound meaning, igniting an unquenchable passion.
While emotions may fade, convictions stand resolute.
It is an authentic and fervent interest.
It embodies the indomitable power of justice against the forces of evil!
——————————————————————
The sky roared with gathering thunderclouds.
Amidst the deafening roar of thunder and the resounding march of the ark.
A godlike entity descended!
“Navy from the Blue Sea…”
Enel’s figure appeared at the helm of the ark, towering over Saitama and everyone below. With a commanding stance, he gazed down upon them.
“Well, well, well… Look who’s got the nerve to challenge me!
You skinny, useless moron, and to top it off, bald too!
You’ve seriously pissed me off.
So, what should I do with you now?
Go ahead, spill your last words, ’cause they’re gonna go up in smoke along with your sorry life.
I ain’t showing any mercy!
Not for you, not for your lame crew, and definitely not for this damn island!
Get ready to burn!”
“…Ugh, another one who just won’t shut up!”
Saitama let out an annoyed sigh, his gaze moving from the ground to Enel’s Ark, sporting his usual deadpan expression. “Why are all the villains in this world so talkative? They must have way too much free time on their hands.”
“Alright, keep talking tough. I’m just dying to see if that goofy expression of yours can last when my attack comes crashing down!”
Enel’s body crackled with electric energy as he unleashed lightning bolts, charging the storm clouds around him. They swirled into enormous dark spheres, filled with intense airflow and electrifying currents that anyone could sense, even without special vision!
The sky flickered intermittently, shifting between luminous radiance and ominous gloom, as if nature itself was in turmoil.
“Watch closely! This is the end!” Enel’s laughter boomed as he stretched out his arms.
“This electric-charged sphere of clouds is about to unleash a devastating lightning strike that will annihilate everything in its path! You, this village, and this entire damn island! Hah-heh-heh-heh…!”
“What’s that!? The thunderclouds… are changing shape!… That…”
Tashigi’s voice quivered as she stood frozen in fear, her eyes locked onto the immense sphere of impending destruction before her.
“Are you insane?!” she exclaimed, her disbelief mingling with anger.
“Those villagers are your own people! How could you, claiming to be a god, stoop so low? It’s absolutely shameful!”
“Hah-heh-heh-heh…”
A chilling laughter escaped Enel’s lips as he squinted his eyes, his gaze devoid of mercy.
“Heh, well, well, well… Look at you, thinking you can challenge a god.
Let me remind you, as a god, it’s my call to decide the fate of every creature on this island.
Their existence, until now, has been a gift from me.
But now…
I’ve grown weary of these despicable beings.”
Suddenly, his voice filled with hysteria, he exclaimed, “Everything is an eyesore! The people, the trees, the land!
Return to where you belong!
Let everything rain down into the Blue Sea!
Anything that doesn’t belong in the sky will be obliterated!
Only gods have a place in the sky! Hah-heh-heh-heh…!”
“You’ve lost your mind!” Tashigi exclaimed, her voice laced with disbelief and frustration. She waved her hand dismissively.
“You’re insane!”
Tashigi exclaimed, her voice laced with disbelief. She gestured emphatically. “The title of ‘God’ is just a label bestowed upon the rulers of this place. There’s no such thing as actual gods here!”
“Hah-heh-heh-heh…
Now you will learn that the heavens are mine! With the Maxim and my power, I can accomplish such acts of God!”
Overwhelmed by despair and a sense of powerlessness, people found themselves trapped.
No matter where they turned, there was no escape from the impending doom.
Their voices were silenced, replaced by mournful cries and hearts burdened with sorrow.
But true heroes…
It is precisely during moments of oppressive tyranny and the crushing weight of fate that heroes emerge, defying the odds and standing tall for those who cannot fight back.
“You think you’re some kind of god? Haha, that’s a good one,” Saitama chuckled, tilting his head up to look at Enel on the ark. “Can you even grow crops in the fields nearby?”
Enel looked perplexed. “What are you babbling about?”
Saitama pressed on, with a laid-back demeanor. “And can you rebuild all those houses you just smashed?”
Enel’s patience wore thin. “Seriously, as if that matters now, what’s your deal?”
Saitama nonchalantly brushed off his comment, maintaining his typical deadpan face as he spoke earnestly, “Oh, here’s an even simpler task for a ‘God.’
Can you create life?
Can you restore my lost emotions or perhaps bring back my hair?
Seriously? you keep flaunting your godly status, but you can’t even perform the most basic miracles that a true God can do? Talk about disappointment!”
Enel’s eyes narrowed with disdain. “…You damn baldy!”
Saitama met Enel’s gaze, undeterred by the impending thunder.
“Your all talk about wiping out everyone, but let’s be real here.
They’re the ones who feed you, give you a roof over your head, fear you, and serve you. Imagine if they all disappeared…
Without them…
You’re nothing, Enel.”
This talk revealed the main differences between Saitama and Enel.
Saitama saw himself as just a regular person in society. He knew everyone had their own skills and abilities, including himself. He recognized his strengths but also knew his limits, like when he lost to KING with just two fingers. (Video games)
But Enel believed he was a real god. He didn’t realize there were many powerful monsters in the ocean, much stronger than him, except for Shiki.
When Saitama said, “You’re nothing, Enel,” he was showing that Enel was overconfident. It also showed that the world was much bigger, with many stronger beings that Enel didn’t know about.
“You dare challenge a god? How foolish.”
Enel found himself momentarily speechless as Saitama’s words struck a nerve.
He attempted to mask his unease with a defiant roar. “I’ll shut you up for good!”
His face twisted into an evil grin as he declared, “Raigo.”
“But the voices within people can never be silenced!”
Saitama clenched his fist and swung it towards the massive thundercloud overhead.
