Pirate’s Achievements System - P.A.S Chapter 292: Decision to Relocate
“We’ve done our best to conceal this secret, Shirahoshi and I, but it seems we still haven’t managed to completely keep it hidden…”
Neptune took a deep breath, his gaze resolute as he looked at Ron and said, “However, I will absolutely not surrender Princess Shirahoshi!”
Nami shook her head, somewhat helpless, and said, “We’re not here to force you to hand over Princess Shirahoshi.”
“Then…”
Neptune hesitated for a moment, looking at Nami, he asked, “What is your goal?”
“Shirahoshi’s identity inevitably makes her existence very dangerous. Even if she herself won’t use these powers, there will always be people who desire this power, just like that individual Vander Decken IX.”
Nami gazed at Neptune and slowly continued, “We actually don’t have a great thirst for this power. We just don’t want it to fall into the hands of others.”
Neptune frowned upon hearing this.
Ron took over the conversation calmly and said, “Since this secret is already at risk of being leaked, it signifies that Shirahoshi’s situation isn’t safe. Vander Decken is a minor player, not much of a concern. But once the World Government or figures like Blackbeard and Kaido, the Hundred Beast Pirates, take an interest, your troubles will grow.”
Upon hearing Ron’s words, Neptune’s expression instantly became serious.
He was well aware of this fact.
Shirahoshi’s power is capable of destroying the world. If it were to be controlled by the government or those dangerous individuals at the top of the sea, it could indeed pose a threat to the world.
While fully grasping this point, Neptune’s heart sank deeply, because he was now uncertain about how to handle this matter.
An existence like Ron, having learned about Shirahoshi’s secret, clearly couldn’t be left unchecked. As Ron had mentioned, even if he himself wasn’t interested in Shirahoshi’s power, he would absolutely not allow this power to fall into the hands of the government or other pirates.
But…
Handing over Shirahoshi was also an impossible task. Not to mention her gentle and timid nature, just as the father of Shirahoshi, he couldn’t possibly give away his own daughter.
However, faced with the likes of Ron and Nami, he didn’t truly have the power to resist. He knew that even though Jinbe had arrived at Ryugu Palace, there was hardly any possibility of resisting Ron and Nami. After all, the person before him was one of the Yonko, standing at the pinnacle of the sea!
As for informing Whitebeard, that was clearly not an option either.
The fewer people who knew about Shirahoshi’s secret, the better. If Whitebeard also knew and conflicts arose with Ron, then this secret would likely be impossible to keep hidden any longer.
Thinking about this, Neptune couldn’t help but feel a little disheartened. He leaned back in his coral chair and after a while, he said, “I didn’t wish for Shirahoshi to possess such power. If it were possible, I would rather she be just an ordinary princess…”
“But this is reality, a reality that must be accepted.”
Ron shook his head and said, “I won’t force anything upon Fish-Man Island, but Vander Decken must be dealt with. This secret can’t be revealed to more people.”
“Furthermore, your situation isn’t safe, so I have a proposal.”
Neptune looked at Ron and asked, “What proposal?”
“Relocation.”
Ron slowly stated, “This place isn’t safe. While it’s underwater, it’s right beneath the World Government and the Marine Headquarters, and it’s also the route pirates take to the New World.”
“Even if you manage to conceal Shirahoshi’s secret well, you’ll always encounter various pirates and all sorts of troubles. There’s always a risk of the secret being exposed.”
“So, I suggest you undertake a relocation, away from the Red Line, away from this troublesome place, to a safe sea area.”
Neptune had been assuming that Ron would likely demand him to hand over Shirahoshi, after all, Shirahoshi’s existence inherently carried great danger. However, he hadn’t anticipated that Ron’s proposal would be about relocation.
In fact, Neptune had considered the idea of relocation countless times before.
Fish-Man Island was located at the bottom of the Red Line continent, a mandatory route for pirates to the New World, constantly facing threats from pirates. Moving away from here would undoubtedly be the best option.
However, the issue lay in the complexity of relocation, a problem he couldn’t solve… One of the difficulties was that Fish-Man Island was too massive to be easily moved.
Even if they managed to move it with great effort, the speed of relocation would be so slow that it would be akin to that of a snail. It might not even move very far after years and years, rendering it practically meaningless.
Next.
Fish-Man Island is enveloped in double-layered bubbles, and the existence of these bubbles relies on the presence of Yarukiman Mangrove trees in the sea area. Otherwise, the bubbles would burst.
Once the bubbles burst, seawater would rush into Fish-Man Island. While Fish-Men and Merfolk aren’t afraid of seawater, the island’s structures couldn’t withstand the water pressure from the sea floor, causing everything to shatter, and the entire island would be destroyed.
Hence, moving Fish-Man Island away from this sea area is quite challenging.
Unless they were to abandon Fish-Man Island entirely and relocate, but that would be incredibly difficult.
Without encountering a real threat to life, without reaching a point where relocation becomes a necessity, no one would willingly leave their homeland where they’ve lived for countless years.
“Relocation… I’ve thought about it as well, but there are several obstacles that seem insurmountable.”
Neptune’s face showed a troubled expression as he voiced the difficulties of relocation to Ron. His eyes also held a hint of distress.
Ron calmly listened and responded, “I can assist you in the relocation, and I’m reasonably confident we can move Fish-Man Island intact. However, the decision rests with you.”
Upon hearing Ron’s words, Neptune was slightly surprised.
However, considering Ron’s capabilities, having the ability to relocate Fish-Man Island wasn’t an entirely unimaginable concept. After all, he was already considered a legendary figure across the seas.
After a brief moment of surprise, Neptune seemed to realize something and sighed helplessly, saying, “I suppose you’ve already planned it out, including the decision to relocate.”
Since Ron had come knowing about Shirahoshi’s secret and even knew some information that Neptune himself wasn’t aware of, it was likely he had strategized in advance, and relocating Fish-Man Island was probably a premeditated plan.
“Yes, what’s your decision then?”
Ron didn’t hide his intentions, nodding slightly.
Neptune shook his head with a sigh, “I guess there’s no option to refuse this, is there…”
“That’s not entirely true.”
Ron looked at Neptune and said, “Relocating Fish-Man Island is also troublesome for me and would require a considerable amount of time. If you decline, then so be it.”
Upon hearing Ron’s words, Neptune’s expression immediately became uncertain.
Following Ron’s relocation plan would lead to an unpredictable future, and not relocating meant they still had to face significant threats. Furthermore, if Shirahoshi’s identity were truly exposed, it could indeed spell disaster for Fish-Man Island. The island’s current location was undeniably perilous.
After a period of difficult contemplation, Neptune finally made a decision.
He chose to relocate.
Since there was an opportunity to relocate, he decided to leave this place… Even if they had to face unforeseen risks, someone like Ron probably wouldn’t intentionally bring harm to Fish-Man Island. With Ron’s power and influence, even forcibly conquering the island wouldn’t be much of a challenge.
“The decision you’ve made is wise.”
Seeing Neptune’s choice, Ron smiled faintly and said, “Next, I’ll help you deal with the little trouble that is Vander Decken.”
“I appreciate it.”
Neptune responded in a solemn tone.
