Reincarnated With the Book of Knowledge - RWBK Chapter 105 One Strike
“You are all a bunch of trash!”
With such obvious contemptuous words, the proud and haughty elite agents could not tolerate it. They all became indignant and took their fighting stances.
Mr. 1 transformed into a blade-man, making his whole body as hard as iron. Mr. 2 grew thorns all over his hands, and Feng Kurei, Mr. 2, was ready with his hermaphrodite Martial Art…
The rest of them also displayed their unique abilities; standing together, looking quite imposing with murderous intent.
“Boy, what do you think now?” asked Miss Valentine, controlling her weight and floating in the air, with a cold sneer.
In her view, with so many fruit ability users gathered together, even the famous swordsman of the sea, Mihawk, would have to be careful.
Of course, although they posed a threat, no one dared to make the first move.
Because everyone knew that in a brawl against a strong opponent, the first to rush in would inevitably suffer the most.
Moreover, facing a powerful figure like Rhodes, these people were always a little bit frightened, especially the swordsman, Mr. 1.
“Gathered together or not, a bunch of trash would still be trash.”
Watching this scene, Rhodes remained calm and composed.
Until… Mr. 5, the user of the explosion fruit, stretched out his finger and dug out a fresh piece of booger from his nose.
And he made a gesture as if he was about to flick it.
This crossed Rhodes’ bottom line! He didn’t want to be attacked by this kind of move!
Even though it couldn’t cause any actual harm to him, just the thought of it made one’s scalp tingle.
Zap, zap…
Only then did his eyes slightly narrow, and a lightning power suddenly erupted from his body, surging in front of him.
There was a faint smell of electric arc in the air.
These thunderous powers hummed and vibrated, and in the blink of an eye, they condensed into a lightning spear, more dazzling than the sun, traversing the sky in an instant.
The speed was too fast!
The elite agents couldn’t react at all.
In the blink of an eye…
The lightning spear pierced through Mr. 5’s body, then exploded, releasing an astonishing light and heat.
Boom!
In the next moment, a terrifying shock wave swept out like a tidal wave, causing a big explosion in the air.
The surrounding elite agents were almost instantly knocked out, spitting out blood in mid-air, and falling heavily on the ground in the distance, unable to stand up for a while, their faces pale, and blood dripping from the corners of their mouths.
“So this is the power of the swordsman of legend?”
“Wow, incredible!”
Robin gasped in awe.
With one powerful blow, all the elite agents of the Baroque Works were crushed like dry leaves.
What a terrifying display of strength!
Seeing is believing, and Robin was forced to put aside any doubts and look upon Rhodes’ back with a newfound reverence.
In this world where might makes right, nothing impresses more than raw power.
“If he truly possesses information about the history, then working for him wouldn’t be so bad,” Robin thought to herself, her resolve strengthened by this realization.
As for the agents who managed to survive this devastating attack, their minds were left blank, completely overwhelmed by the sheer force of it all.
Struggling to lift their heads, they gazed at the center of the destruction, only to find that the ground had already melted away, leaving behind no trace of the massive Mr. 5.
“This sword-slash is truly worthy of his title,” Mr. 1, the strongest of them all, said with a hint of bitterness, as he slowly came to his senses.
As a user of the Supa Supa no Mi, a Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to transform any part of his body into a steel blade, Mr. 1 considered himself to be a natural swordsman, but he had never expected to be severely injured by the residual shockwave of Rhodes’ attack.
His body, which he had always thought was as tough as steel, was now as fragile as paper, covered in bloodstains, and riddled with internal injuries.
“The difference in power is too great,” the other elite agents thought to themselves, their minds flashing with the realization that they were hopelessly outmatched.
They wanted to flee but found their bodies paralyzed and wracked with pain every time they tried to move, feeling an overwhelming sense of despair wash over them.
Meanwhile, Rhodes showed no mercy.
He slowly approached Miss Valentine and gazed down at her pitiful figure. Blood dripped from the corners of her mouth, and her beautiful face was twisted in terror as if she had just seen a demon rise from the depths of hell.
“No, don’t kill me!” Miss Valentine begged, her voice trembling with fear.
She was a fashionable and beautiful woman, and her current state of dishevelment, combined with her expression and torn clothes, revealed her white and delicate skin, evoking a sense of pity from those who saw her.
Robin had thought that Rhodes might be weak to beautiful women, based on his previous flirting with her, but she was proven wrong as Rhodes lifted his foot and stomped on Miss Valentine’s chest, shattering her heart with his incredible strength.
“Uh…” Robin could not help but be surprised by this turn of events.
Rhodes desired a new Baroque organization, one that was not simply a killer syndicate. Of course, some cancerous elements had to be removed.
After a bloody spree, only the strongest business-minded, cold-hearted swordmaster Mr. 1 remained, as well as Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, who had the potential to imitate others’ abilities, and Miss Goldenweek, a professional assassin who was essentially an underage artist.
“I understand now why you asked for information on these elite agents. You were selecting,” Robin observed with relief.
Working for anyone was just that– work. But Robin certainly didn’t want her boss to be a merciless, heartless killer with no boundaries. After all, she was inherently a woman of light.
“Do any of you have any objections to me becoming the president of the organization?” Rhodes asked calmly, hands behind his back.
“We fully support you,” Mr. 1 replied, exchanging a glance with the others before bowing their heads in submission.
They were all assassins by trade, emotionally detached, and not prone to resentment over the death of their colleagues.
Their biggest emotional swing was actually the sense of loss they felt when they were defeated by Rhodes’ incredible power and authority.
“With these people here, and with your abilities, you should be able to continue maintaining the Baroque organization,” Rhodes said to Robin.
“Absolutely,” Robin nodded, sensing the implicit meaning behind his words.
“Excellent. In the future, the organization will specialize in intelligence gathering. Work with the Arabasta Kingdom, support each other, and strive to develop as soon as possible.”
“Understood,” Robin said dutifully, knowing this suited her temperament perfectly.
Upon hearing their conversation, Mr. 1 and his companions couldn’t help but show some bewilderment.
What was going on? Were they being pardoned?
Mr. 1’s thoughts were complex, but Miss Goldenweek breathed a sigh of relief. She had been recruited into the organization because of her unique abilities but had always disliked the profession of an assassin and only wanted to be a quiet artist.
This time, it seemed her wish had been granted, and the little girl couldn’t help but let out a faint smile.
“Now, only Crocodile remains,” Rhodes said flatly. “Proceed according to plan, Robin.”
“Understood,” Robin replied, settling into her role as the secretary and executing her boss’s orders to the letter.
