Against unknown terror… against the Monarch of the Abyss…
Even Ian had been afraid. Just like us, he had trembled.
Just like us, he had despaired.

And yet.

Ian overcame it.
He didn’t crumble.

Because he couldn’t afford to.
Because if he did, the heroes who believed in him—and everyone on the continent—would fall with him.

Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, Hero Ian.

There was something he once told me:

—“Endure it, Adrian. If you falter, who will the Special Operations Unit rely on?”

Special Operations Unit under the Allied Command.
Commander of the Special Warfare Division.

That was who I had once been—my past life.

But now, no longer.

This won’t be my future.

Never again. Never—again.

I will never relive that nightmare.

Let fear and terror be theirs now.

It’s my turn to become their nightmare.

I ground my teeth.

That wasn’t enough, so I bit into my cheek.

Still not enough—I bit my tongue.

I didn’t suppress the pain.

The stinging taste of blood, the searing agony.

It swept away the creeping fear that had begun to consume me.

Serapia had activated her ability.

By the time Kai realized it, it was already too late.

Ice flowers bloomed in every direction.

They continued to blossom, slowly expanding their domain.

The eerily beautiful petals of frost held deadly power—just brushing past them could mean death.

And the moment Serapia extended her hand—

Death spread through beauty.

When he came to his senses, the monster legion had been turned to statues.

All those monsters that had once blanketed the Snowy Mountains—now reduced to a grotesque, pitiful sight.

There was no blood.

All had been frozen, suspended in place.

Kai’s head had gone numb with frost, his breath coming in short gasps.

His frozen limbs had lost all sensation. No matter how hard he drew on his Aura, he couldn’t move.

Even the Lycanthrope stood frozen in place. The cold creeping up from its legs surged upward, swallowing its entire body in seconds.

Thin frost settled on its thick fur and hide.

Shards of ice began forming in bursts, completely immobilizing the Lycanthrope.

Its bodily fluids froze instantly, bursting even its iron-like muscles.

Its blood froze as well, tearing apart its tough veins.

The wild, rage-filled gleam in its eyes—

Was slowly consumed by fear.

But ironically, that fear wasn’t directed at Serapia.

“Struggle all you want—it won’t matter.”

Suddenly, a voice rang out.

Kai couldn’t move his eyes to see, but he knew whose voice that was.

Adrian.

‘H-How…?’

Shock rose in Kai’s eyes.

He knew Adrian had withstood the Ice Breath of the Gelu Drake.

But this—this was different.

The frost Serapia emitted was on a completely different level from Ice Breath.

Compared to this, the Ice Drake’s breath was practically warm air.

Kai only survived because he was within Serapia’s protective zone. Had he not been, he would’ve frozen to death in an instant.

Even inside the protected space, he couldn’t move a muscle.

And yet Adrian—

“Even the Monarch of Beasts feared the Monarch of Frost.”

The Lycanthrope’s eyes widened. As if asking: How do you know that?

Adrian stepped into view.

His skin was pale and frosted over. Not even a trace of breath escaped his lips—his lungs, likely frozen solid.

The price of stepping beyond Serapia’s protection, into the domain of pure frost.

Yet Adrian’s eyes did not waver.

With willpower that seemed to defy mortality itself, he pressed forward.

Finally, standing before the Lycanthrope, Adrian reached out.

His fingers were frostbitten and blue, cracked from the cold.

His face twisted in pain.

But even that pain, Adrian endured.

Driven by sheer resolve, he grabbed hold of the Lycanthrope’s heart.

And then, Adrian smiled.

“If you can, send a message to the Monarch of Beasts.”

That smile—it was like that of a beast soaked in black hatred.

“Tell him his heart is next.”

With a yank, Adrian tore out the Lycanthrope’s heart.

A spray of crimson blood scattered—

Only to freeze instantly and fall to the ground like shards of glass.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

And then, Adrian burst into laughter.

That howl of vengeance and madness—it sent a chill down Kai’s spine. He recoiled before he even realized it.

The moment the Lycanthrope’s heart was ripped out—

◆ You have slain the Lycanthrope!
◆ You gained 107,506 Combat EXP!
◆ Level up!
◆ Level up!
◆ Level up!
◆ Level up!

The translucent messages filled my vision.

Proof of the Lycanthrope’s certain death.

Only then did I finally let my guard down.

And of course—what else could you expect from a Commander of the Beast Legion?

The EXP was absolutely insane.

When I defeated the Ice Drake, I barely earned around 8,000.

But now? Over a hundred thousand.

No wonder this guy held the rank of Beast Legion Commander.

In my hand still rested the Lycanthrope’s heart.

But this wasn’t just any heart.

The Lycanthrope had sworn fealty to the Monarch of Beasts and had become his Commander—empowered by the Monarch’s authority.

That meant his heart bore the genetic imprint of none other than the Monarch of Beasts.

The Monarch possessed the genetic code of nearly every living being on the continent.

In some ways, his genetics were even more powerful than that of a dragon.

And a portion of that power—

Was now engraved in the heart of the Lycanthrope, Commander of the Beast Legion.

But once it loses vitality, no genetic material can be harvested.

Even now, the heart was frozen solid—I didn’t have much time.

Without hesitation, I brought the Lycanthrope’s heart to my mouth.

Crunch!

It didn’t feel like flesh—it felt like biting into a block of ice.

There was no sign of life in it.

But perhaps because of the Lycanthrope’s tremendous vitality…

By some miracle, the heart wasn’t completely dead yet.

Still—there wasn’t much time left.

I shoved the rest of it into my mouth and bit down hard.

And just as I was swallowing the final piece—

◆KIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEK!!!!!!◆

A frantic message popped up in front of me.
