Avarus, the Crafter of Greed.

His epithet alone said it all.
He was a being overflowing with greed.

If Avarus was using Viscount Benneron’s county as a base, then odds were near certain—there had to be a “secret vault.”

He probably slathered the whole thing in magical barriers and buried it deep.

With my Mana Sensitivity basically at zero, I couldn’t detect anything… but right now, my Agility stat was sitting at a whopping 111.8.

A sense bordering on genuine ESP (extra sensory perception), no longer just a vague intuition.

Sharpened to a razor’s edge, my senses didn’t miss a single scrap of information fed through the five senses.

‘Let’s see…’

I carefully scanned the ruins of the mansion.

Adrian flopped like a fish dragged onto land.

Kai stared at him, his eyes a whirlpool of confusion, surprise—and a trace of fear.

No matter how hard he tried to accept this baffling phenomenon of someone returning from death… Kai simply couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Seriously—

“He resurrected.”

He couldn’t make sense of Adrian as a person.

Only one explanation settled Kai’s swirling thoughts: That’s just Adrian.

He was trying to calm his dazed mind when—

“It should be around here somewhere…”

Adrian suddenly began looking around, peering left and right.

“What are you looking for?”

“Dessert.”

“…Excuse me?”

“I already finished the main course, so now I need dessert.”

What was he even…? Eat and then eat again?

He literally died from picking up and chomping on some weird stuff—!

“Oh, maybe over there?”

Adrian suddenly took a bold step forward.

Kai’s gaze followed him naturally—

…but there wasn’t anything noteworthy.

Just a landscape littered with shattered debris.

But when Adrian pushed aside the wreckage—

Craack!

To be precise, when he ripped out an entire wall along with the debris—

CRASH—!

A barrier shattered, and the space around them shimmered as if reality itself was warping.

The distorted space gradually settled back into its true form.

A spiral staircase leading down into a pitch-black underground entrance emerged.

As the hidden space revealed itself, Kai’s eyes widened on instinct.

…He had no idea.

“How did you know?”

“Just a hunch.”

Adrian answered casually and descended into the darkness.

But a moment later, he reappeared.

Kai tilted his head in confusion.

Adrian’s body was swallowed by the darkness below—but his face alone floated into view.

It was like seeing a ghost—just a face, hovering in midair.

“Kai, come down here and use your Aura to light things up.”

Kai scrambled to collect his scattered wits and drew his sword.

Using the blue Aura clinging to Kai’s sword like a torch, they headed down.

A massive door blocked their path.

At a glance, it was clearly no ordinary door.

Adrian swept his gaze across it, then spoke.

“It’s made of RuneSteel.”

“RuneSteel, you say…?”

RuneSteel—a special alloy imbued with magical properties.

Its strength and durability weren’t particularly impressive. From what Kai knew, it was only a little tougher than ordinary steel.

But RuneSteel’s true value lay elsewhere: in its resistance to mana.

All energies rooted in mana—like Aura and Mana Force—were met with tremendous resistance.

Not just resistance, in fact. RuneSteel could temporarily nullify both Aura and Mana Force.

In other words, Kai couldn’t even cut through this metal.

“If they used solid RuneSteel for this, there’s definitely something valuable inside.”

A door forged entirely from RuneSteel…

Craack!

Suddenly, the RuneSteel tore like paper.

Kai’s mind shut down again.

RuneSteel, shmune-steel—whatever.

Crack, rip!

Adrian peeled it open like it was made of cardboard.

…Was he even human?

Still, Kai found himself muttering, That’s just Adrian, and somehow that made it okay.

…Was he going mad too?

Adrian tore off the entire RuneSteel door in seconds.

Then he boldly strode into the room.

And came right back out.

“What are you doing? Come in here and light it up.”

Kai barely pulled his mind back together and followed him in.

When he lit the room with his Aura—

“Th-this is…!!”

Piles of gold and silver coins, glittering gems—stacked from floor to ceiling.

The wealth, radiating golden and silver light even in the dark, sparkled brilliantly. Priceless ornaments and relics were laid out like decorations on top.

At the very least, tens of millions of gold.

Kai’s soul nearly flew out of his body.

It was an astronomical amount of treasure—unseeable and unattainable in any normal lifetime.

No wonder they hid the vault behind multiple layers of barriers.

And used solid RuneSteel for the door.

Clink.

Suddenly, a soft clinking sound reached Kai’s ears.

Looking toward it, he saw—

Adrian was sweeping gold coins into a bag?

He was shoveling coins into a large sack.

Each time, the clatter of coins echoed as they slid into the bag.

Where the hell did he even get that sack?

“……”

Adrian remained as incomprehensible as ever.

There were at least tens of millions of gold coins in that vault.

I made sure not to leave a single one behind, scraping them into the sack.

Yet the pile just never seemed to end.

‘Man, I really wish I could just dump all this into my inventory.’

Put crudely, my hands were itching for Inventory.

Unfortunately, Inventory came with a weight limit.

Specifically: [Strength stat x 40kg].

And my current Strength stat was 87.4.

◆ Your current Inventory weight limit is [3,496kg]. ◆

Pretty hefty capacity—but still not enough.

The mountain of gold and jewels in front of me made it painfully clear why Avarus was called the Forger of Greed.

3,496kg wouldn’t even scratch the surface.

Just as I was manually scooping gold into the sack—

‘Wait. Could I combine Inventory with Infinite[M]?’

The thought crossed my mind.

Without much hope, I activated Infinite [M]—

◆ Linking Concept Skill, Infinite [M], with Inventory. ◆

A translucent message floated before my eyes—and my mind lit up.

◆ Inventory weight limit has been converted to ‘∞kg’. ◆

…It actually worked?
