*Snein Lake.*

Located at the center of Rainbow Island.

As I approached the lake, I saw ‘Day 1 players’ huddled together, resting.

‘This is the safest place, after all.’

One of the standard strategies for Rainbow Island.

This place was more dangerous at night than during the day.

Even in the plains, the Silver Fangs, which had only been active in the southern region, expanded their territory northward.

A formidable enemy that Day 1 players stood no chance against!

And that wasn’t all.

In the wasteland, Antlions widened their sand traps.

Additionally, the apex predators of each region started moving in earnest once the sun set.

A harsh environment for beginners.

Of course, this didn’t apply to top-ranked players.

Hunting monsters at night granted extra points, so they often moved around to secure higher scores.

High risk, high reward.

I didn’t pay it much mind.

If I kept this up, securing first place in the tutorial would be easy peasy.

What mattered were the essences and hidden elements only obtainable in Rainbow Island.

A place I could never return to.

I had to devour every last thing worth taking, without missing a single one.

And to do that…

‘First, I need to meet the merchant.’

Rummaging through my memories, I walked along the lake.

My destination was an island in the middle of the lake.

To meet the merchant in the tutorial stage, you had to cross the lake bare-handed.

While walking, I found a shallow part of the water and waded in.

Chilly.

Moving my arms and legs, I pushed through the water, advancing bit by bit.

In my past life, I’d experienced all kinds of environments.

A little swimming was nothing.

What I *really* needed to watch out for was…

‘These guys.’

I glanced beneath the water’s surface.

Dark shapes flickered in the depths.

Several black figures, each at least five meters long.

The monsters of the lake.

They were predators on par with the Antlions in the tutorial.

With my current stats, I’d be torn to shreds in under a minute.

Yet, I could still consider swimming across because of their nature.

‘Fish that are diurnal, imagine that.’

Unlike monsters in other areas, the lake’s creatures were only active during the day.

That was exactly why I’d come at night.

‘Still, I can’t let my guard down.’

Staying alert for any unexpected variables, I kept swimming.

Fortunately, no fish woke up before I reached the island.

“What’s this? A player’s already here?”

A gruff voice reached my ears.

A squat man.

A dwarf merchant, frowning deeply, stared at me.

Above his head floated the name [Joik] in green letters.

“That’s right.”

[You have discovered Midron Trading Company.]
[You are the first player to make contact with a trading company member in the tutorial stage. 10 points have been awarded.]

No reason to refuse free points.

Listening with half an ear to the system’s announcement, I focused on the dwarf’s movements.

“Hey, player. Isn’t this Day 1 of the tutorial?”

“Correct.”

“You’ve got guts. Swimming across the lake on Day 1?”

The dwarf let out a dry laugh.

Considering the monsters lurking beneath, it *was* a reckless move.

“Are you the only one here?”

“Hm?”

“The trading company folks.”

“Hahaha! Since you already know, this’ll be easier. Follow me.”

The dwarf scurried ahead on his short legs.

A lone house stood on the island.

The dwarf pushed open the front door.

[Liron]
[Hairin]

An elf and a gnome inside jumped in surprise when they saw me.

“A player?”

“A human?”

Similar reactions to the dwarf earlier.

“As you can see.”

I smiled leisurely.

These three were NPCs—residents of another dimension who assisted in running the Tower of Babel.

Being an NPC was like landing a high-paying part-time job in their world.

Drawing on my past-life knowledge, I turned my attention to the three merchants.

“Name’s Joik. You can see it floating above my head.”

“I’m Player Yu Jin-Ho.”

“Keh keh. I handle weapons. The pointy-eared one over there deals in magic, and the little guy sells miscellaneous goods.”

“L-Little?! I-I’m taller than a dwarf, y-you know?!”

“As expected of the earth-dwellers, so vulgar.”

The three bickered in front of me.

Though they operated under [Midron Trading Company], they were actually from different dimensions.

Even if they were from the same company, each race earned different points based on sales, so they competed over customers.

“T-Today’s the f-first day, right? Y-You probably d-don’t have many p-points yet…”

The gnome stammered but got his point across.

The elf and dwarf narrowed their eyes.

“Come to think of it…”

“Got excited for nothing.”

The Tower’s merchants traded using two currencies: CP and Mission Points.

CP (Clear Points) were earned by clearing missions, while Mission Points reflected performance.

A player just starting the tutorial wouldn’t have any CP, so what they wanted was Mission Points.

The problem? It was Day 1, so players wouldn’t have many points yet.

No wonder the three looked disappointed.

“Hey, Mr. Gnome.”

“Y-Yes?”

“I’ll take 32 Moonstones.”

“T-That’s… Each M-moonstones c-costs 20 points, s-sir.”

Man, that stammer’s intense.

“I have a little over 600 points right now.”

“J-Just a moment.”

The gnome merchant stammered as he checked my points.

“P-Player Yu Jin-Ho, your points are… Heeik?!”

[Yu Jin-Ho: 667 Points]

The gnome hiccuped in shock.

No surprise there.

Earning 600 points on the first day was impossible under normal circumstances.

Defeating the Hidden Boss and Deep Slime had already pushed me past 400 points, and I’d also hunted Wolf King Seorin.

Points were overflowing.

The elf and dwarf stared at me with strange expressions.

“Hey, shorty.”

“Why are you so shocked?”

“T-This gentleman… has over 600 points on Day 1!”

The elf and dwarf’s jaws dropped.

“600?!”

“Is that even possible on Day 1?!”

“I-if you’re c-curious, ch-check f-for yourselves!”

The three merchants erupted into chaos.

Without my past-life knowledge, this would’ve been unthinkable.

Their shock was justified.

Keeping my composure, I spoke up.

“If you don’t want to trade, that’s fine.”

“N-No, we do!”

The gnome, forgetting his stutter in his panic, hastily handed over the Moonstones.

[Moonstone]
– Grade: Normal
– Type: Consumable
– Description: Repels monsters using lunar energy.
– Effect: When used, drives away monsters within a 10-meter radius for 10 seconds.
– Effect cancels if the user is attacked.
– *Monster-repelling effect only applies in Rainbow Island.

Furthermore, it was filled with useless options like the tutorial usage restriction.

It wasn’t something I particularly needed.

But here’s the thing—if I took these Moonstones to Mount Emirates, they could be used for something else entirely.

‘Just wait until the full moon rises.’

I suppressed a grin.
