0.0000001% Demon King - 0DK Chapter 35: The Holy Land (1) (Part 2)
“…The direct knights of the Sun God? Why are they here?”
The knightly order that had welcomed her was an old order that protected the interior of the Holy Land, more symbolic than powerful, akin to an ornamental piece that had never fought in battle.
But the ones appearing now were different. The direct knightly order of the Sun God. The direct knights of the order had experienced numerous battlefields.
Their mission was one.
To kill the demon.
“It seems the message was delivered.”
Karos muttered.
“Vain?”
“…Oh.”
“Hero? Something seems off…”
The mercenaries started to back away slowly as the knightly order approached at full speed.
“Sinclair. Or should I say, hero of the Sun God. You asked me who I was, didn’t you?”
Karos twisted his lips.
“I’ll give you the answer.”
“Heeheehee!”
The arrived knights surrounded them. The mercenaries screamed and collapsed. The knights’ eyes were filled with murderous intent.
“Hero.”
“Knight commander? What’s going on?”
Sinclair approached the knight in golden armor with a confused face. The knight gently pushed her back.
“That place is dangerous. Step away from the filthy demon king.”
“Demon king…”
Sinclair’s eyes wavered. She turned her gaze away as if it couldn’t be.
“…Vain?”
“I am not Vain.”
Karos grasped his necklace.
“I am Karos.”
He tore off the necklace. The suppressed demonic energy spread out in all directions. The knights stiffened their faces and pointed their spears.
Chachachang!
“Eeek!”
“What, what’s this!”
The mercenaries huddled together in terror. Demonic energy. The power not granted to humans, capable of being held by only one.
“I am the Demon King of madness and greed, Karos. Your enemy.”

In the frozen space, Karos threw the necklace into the air. The space opened wide, and the necklace disappeared.
“Demon King? What are you talking about?!”
The gruff man screamed, still not grasping the situation. Karos clicked his tongue.
“Literally. Idiots.”
“…Ah.”
The face of the slender man turned pale instantly. Karos found this interesting.
“Quick on the uptake. I’d like to talk more, but you’ll have to wait.”
Karos grinned at the knightly order.
“To think the direct knights of the madman would come to this weak Demon King. Is he that scared of little me?”
“Vain, what are you saying!”
Sinclair yelled again. Karos just shrugged his shoulders.
“I told you. I’m the Demon King.”
“Leave this place to us.”
The knight commander pushed her away. Sinclair was pushed back helplessly like a child.
“So what? Hurry up and take him away.”
“Filthy demon!”
The knight commander thrust his spear at Karos, who merely sneered.
“Don’t make me laugh.”
Karos tapped the spear blade lightly with his hand.
“You can’t kill me now. So stop with the empty bravado?”
“Vain.”
Sinclair stuttered, seeing a completely different side of him. The knight commander gritted his teeth.
“This filthy demon…”
The knight commander moved, but it wasn’t the spear that swung but his fist.
Thump!
“Ugh!”
Karos coughed out after being hit in the stomach. He laughed and wiped his mouth while sitting down.
“That hurts.”
“Bind him, and those mercenaries too.”
“By the will of God.”
“Eek!”
“Please spare us!”
The mercenaries struggled, but the knights subdued them emotionlessly. Sinclair, puzzled, grabbed the knight commander’s arm.
“Knight commander. They are harmless. It shouldn’t come to harm…”
“Hero.”
The knight commander bluntly cut off Sinclair’s words.
“It’s the Pope’s order.”
“The Pope?”
“Yes. I’m sorry, but please follow our instructions here.”
“…”
Although Sinclair was a hero, the Pope was a higher authority to her. Ultimately, she had no choice but to step back quietly.
Once all the bindings were complete, the knights began dragging the mercenaries and Karos into the Holy Land. When they reached the golden barrier, the knight commander put the necklace on Karos.
“If you don’t want to melt away, wear it.”
“I appreciate the kindness.”
Karos had no intention of committing suicide. Wearing the necklace, they entered the golden barrier. A tingling sensation covered his entire body, but it wasn’t unbearable.
‘To think I would enter this place with my own two feet.’
He entered the Holy Land with an unpleasant sentiment. Many people were waiting there.
“What, this number.”
Sinclair’s pupils shook. People were packed so densely that they blocked the road. It was a number that couldn’t be prepared unless planned in advance.
Their gazes were all fixed on Karos. Hostility, murderous intent, anger, madness. Karos indifferently accepted all their gazes.
“People of the Holy Land!”
The knight commander raised his voice.
“The great hero has captured the Demon King!”
“…What?”
She didn’t know that Vain was the Demon King. Confused, she tried to ask the knight commander, but her voice was drowned out by the ensuing cheers.
“Oooo!”
“Hero! The great hero!”
People erupted in unison with praises. The noise was so loud that the mercenaries had to cover their ears.
“Look! The filthy demon!”
The knight commander lifted Karos by the neck. Praise quickly turned into hostile shouting.
“Filthy demon!”
“Die!”
Objects flew towards him, causing Karos to grimace.
“It hurts.”
“In ten days, the Demon King will be executed!”
The knight commander added.
“And those who follow him, the filthy traitors, will be executed along with him!”
“What!”
The mercenaries were shocked.
