0.0000001% Demon King - 0DK Chapter 45: The Masterless (1) (Part 2)
“Wow.”
Sinclair exclaimed.
“This is the Demon Realm.”
A crimson world unfolded before her.
“Except for the overall color, it’s similar to the surface.”
“I told you it’s different from what you think. Bathesia, where’s the city?”
“Wait a moment.”
She replied in a calm voice. Sinclair looked at Bathesia with a peculiar gaze but didn’t pay much attention and asked Karos.
“Are the others staying at the Demon King’s castle?”
“Adventurers or armies might come, so we need to leave basic personnel behind. Besides, Lillis refused to come.”
The reason was simple. She didn’t want to experience what had happened before again.
With such firm resolve, Karos gave up on forcibly bringing her.
“There it is.”
Bathesia, having found the location, opened her eyes. They soon reached the city. Sinclair marveled.
“This is a city in the Demon Realm…”
By human standards, it was a huge city.
“It’s bigger than the Imperial Capital.”
“This is the largest city in the Demon Realm.”
It was the city where the Great Demon King resided, housing various important buildings including the Demon King Academy.
Bathesia’s face relaxed as it was also like her hometown.
“Great. Let’s go in quickly. I have many familiar faces to see.”
She walked quickly. Karos grabbed her hair.
“Hey! What are you doing!”
She yelled as she fell to the ground. Karos clicked his tongue and opened the air, throwing something at her.
“Where do you think you’re going? Put this on.”
“A robe?”
It was a robe that covered her entire body and face.
“Why?”
“Bathesia, did you have good relations with other Demon Kings?”
“Of course not!”
Bathesia proudly put her hands on her hips.
“A Demon King who gets along wouldn’t become a lord!”
“That’s why you need to wear this. Right now, you’re like a dessert with lots of decoration.”
Currently, she had no power or influence as a Demon King. If other Demon Kings knew she was here, it was obvious what would happen.
“If you don’t want to start a war, wear it.”
“Damn popularity.”
Bathesia grumbled but obediently put on the robe. Karos opened the air again and threw another robe to Sinclair.
“You wear this too.”
“It feels eerie.”
“It’s a robe made with Bathesia’s power. It suppresses holy power.”
Although the time limit was short, it was effective while in the Demon Realm. Karos also donned a robe.
“Let’s go in.”
The three, now robed, entered the city. As they passed through the gate, Sinclair muttered with a curious face.
“There are no checks.”
“This is the Demon Realm.”
“Even so, shouldn’t there be minimum precautions? In such a large city, the chaos would be great if a disturbance broke out.”
“Who would cause the chaos?”
“Well…”
Sinclair fell silent.
“Could it be that demons don’t…”
“It’s similar.”
“This is quite…”
Sinclair smiled bitterly, looking shocked.
“So demons are more unified than humans.”
“It’s different, but no one attacks the cities in the Demon Realm.”
There were frequent battles among Demon Kings, trying to take each other’s territories in the surface world.
But not in the Demon Realm. The goal of a Demon King was the surface world, not the Demon Realm.
“And there’s hardly anyone crazy enough to cause trouble in the city where the Great Demon King resides.”
“Shut up.”
Bathesia quietly protested and kept walking.
“Wow. Amazing.”
Sinclair constantly uttered words of admiration as she walked. For someone who had lived on the surface, the Demon Realm was a new world. Sinclair tugged at the hem of Karos’s robe.
“Demon King, Demon King. What’s that?”
She pointed to a fish tank in a food shop. Inside, a creature with eight legs was wriggling.
“That’s an octopus. You don’t know it?”
“I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never seen it. Is it ornamental?”
“No. It’s food.”
Sinclair’s face stiffened.
“…You eat that?”
“It’s quite tasty.”
“Uh…”
While Sinclair was experiencing cultural differences, Karos turned into an alley. Bathesia tilted her head.
“There’s no one here who handles renovations.”
“We’ll go there later. There’s something we need to settle first.”
As they entered the alley, an old blind woman was begging.
“Wait here.”
Karos approached the woman and tapped the ground irregularly. The old woman flinched and tapped the wall.
“It’s done.”
After about a minute of wall tapping, Karos entered the alley. Bathesia, who had been idly standing, hurriedly followed.
“What’s this? Is there an information organization here?”
“Roughly.”
“They’re the only ones who use such codes. How long have you known?”
“For quite some time.”
“You’ve kept a lot of secrets.”
Bathesia had a discontented face.
“An information organization in the Great Demon King’s city. How bold.”
Basically, there was no such thing as an information organization in the Great Demon King’s city. More accurately, there was no underworld. The Great Demon King had decreed that only the front side should exist where he lived.
“How did you find out about this? Is their information useful?”
“They have strange conditions, but it’s decent.”
“What’s their name?”
“Where the Old Snake Dwells.”
“Where the Old Snake Dwells. That’s a good name…”
Bathesia closed her mouth. A pale look spread across her face.
“Wait. How do you know this place?”
“Is it famous?”
“It’s not just famous!”
Bathesia whispered urgently.
“It’s run by the former Great Demon King! How do you know about this place?”
