All Stat Slayer - A.S.S Chapter 48 (part 1): Season 1: Preparation
Hyun-seok is an All-Stat Slayer. He has evenly distributed all his stats, although currently focused on strength, allowing him to possess the unique characteristics of Jong-won, Se-young, Min-seo, Pyeong-hwa, and Myeong-hoon. However, despite that, he only has one body.
Due to the penalty of his skills, he was unable to use weapons or armor. He couldn’t move at lightning speed either. Hyun-seok threw his body. There was only one person who could protect his body.
He threw his body towards Min-seo. In reality, there was no time to think and consider things rationally. It wasn’t a thought that came from his mind; his body moved on its own. Hyun-seok blocked the green liquid spat out by the Giant Turtle and took damage. Of course, the damage value was 0, but if Min-seo had been hit, it would have been a dangerous and powerful attack.
Surprisingly, despite receiving adjustments as a boss monster, this Giant Turtle seemed weaker than the Giant Turtles in the field. Based on what Jong-won, who had personally been hit, said, its approximate attack power was around 5000 to 6000.
The attacks could instantly kill Min-seo or Pyeong-hwa. Considering that Twin-headed Troll has an attack power of around 4500, it wasn’t strange for the Giant Turtle, considered a higher-level monster, to have an attack power of 5000 to 6000. It was actually weaker than expected, except for the fact that its area attack posed a threat to multiple targets. It seemed weak, probably because it was the boss monster of the “Training Dungeon.”
However, the strength of this Giant Turtle wasn’t an immediate concern.
“Damn it… Pyeong-hwa!”
Along with a feeling of relief for saving Min-seo, Hyun-seok was also worried about Pyeong-hwa.
Psssh!
A smoke-like substance emerged. In terms of entering Normal Mode, apart from the decrease in H/P, there were no other changes. While it might seem simple, the fact that smoke appeared when the shield and liquid collided meant that something was happening, even if he didn’t know what.
Yeon-su shouted as he blocked Pyeong-hwa’s way.
“Step back further, Pyeong-hwa!”
Pyeong-hwa was too bewildered to fully comprehend Yeon-su’s words. Yeon-su grabbed Pyeong-hwa’s waist and leaped forward. Although he wasn’t as agile as Se-young, he had decent reflexes as a top-tier Slayer.
“The smoke is also a dispersed attack.”
Yeon-su held his shield and stepped forward. The innocent and gentle Yeon-su had disappeared somewhere. Now, only Yeon-su, a top-tier Slayer faithfully performing the role of a tank, remained.
The smoke also caused damage. Normally, in Normal Mode, only the decrease in H/P would occur externally. Therefore, the fact that smoke was produced when the shield and liquid collided meant that it wasn’t real corrosion. The smoke was also an attack. Although the damage was much weaker than the acid, it was still a threat to Pyeong-hwa and Min-seo.
Feeling relieved for saving Min-seo, feeling sorry for Pyeong-hwa, and a sense of great relief that Pyeong-hwa was safe—pushing aside all those overwhelming emotions—Hyun-seok quickly moved his body. After experiencing all the complex emotions he had just felt, anger surged within him.
The previous attack was truly dangerous.
“This damn bastard!”
The faster the situation is understood, the better. Hyun-seok saved Min-seo, and Yeon-su saved Pyeong-hwa. The other members are Slayers capable of handling their own share. Pyeong-hwa, who has been proven through her experiences, was rapidly casting heals on guild members with the lowest H/P, including Se-young, Jong-won, and Yeon-su. Min-seo was also providing buffs that she could use to support Se-young, Jong-won, and Yeon-su, who were mainly focused on offense and defense.
In Hyun-seok’s eyes, the body of the Giant Turtle was getting closer. The Giant Turtle’s acid spray attack seemed to have a slight delay. In that short time, Hyun-seok reached right in front of the Giant Turtle.
Hyun-seok clenched his fist tightly.
‘The weakness should be the same as before.’
He jumped high. Jumping over three meters high, as if easily crossing a neighborhood fence, Hyun-seok shouted.
“Yeon-su! Jong-won! Protect Min-seo and Pyeong-hwa!”
He took a brief pause, barely stopping himself from swinging his fist with full force due to his anger.
Upon hearing Hyun-seok’s words, Yeon-su and Jong-won quickly moved. They were also top-tier Slayers. Their ability to assess the situation was not lacking. When the Giant Turtle’s shell broke, it would instantly transform into a fierce and rapid attacker, using its tail and all four legs for its attacks. A Giant Turtle without its shell showed a fairly agile movement. That’s why over 40 Slayers died from it last time.
Se-young stepped forward. She knew what Hyun-seok was planning. She was trying to attack its weakness and break the shield.
“Then my job is…!”
At the moment the shell broke, during that brief moment when the Giant Turtle became ferocious, she had to distract it. In other words, she had to lure its attention towards her and prevent it from attacking the supporting Slayers and the healing Slayers who had lower defense.
“Just 2 seconds. No, I just need to hold its gaze for 1 second!”
Afterward, it would be up to Hyun-seok, the Platinum Slayer who had already defeated himself and soloed the much more powerful Cyclops, to take care of it. If he could hold its gaze for just 1 second, during that momentary distraction when his stance was disturbed by breaking the shield, Hyun-seok would be able to attack the Giant Turtle again.
“Just 1 second! It’s my job!”
While attacking the Giant Turtle, Hyun-seok reassessed the situation. Jong-won and Yeon-su took positions to protect Min-seo and Pyeong-hwa, and Myeong-hoon had also found his place. And Se-young was preparing to make the move.
“Stay calm. Stay calm. Stay calm.”
He barely suppressed his momentary rage. He approached the situation as rationally as possible. Even though the likelihood of a dangerous situation arising was not very high as long as Hyun-seok was present, it was better to proceed with caution when lives were at stake.
“Alright. Se-young is ready for the distraction.”
During the process of slaying a bug-level monster like Cyclops that greatly exceeded the standard, the presence of other Slayers actually hindered Hyun-seok. However, in this case, it seemed that they could provide some assistance.
Soloing had its limits. In the worst-case scenario, if Hyun-seok couldn’t gain the Forced Transformation Stat and couldn’t transition to the next mode, remaining at this state forever, then he had to strengthen the guild members. In such a situation, soloing should be avoided. It’s better to go together if it’s possible to overcome it together. It wouldn’t take away any achievements. And in the current situation, the guild members were each fulfilling their roles and positions quite well.
As Hyun-seok extended his fist, he said, “The shield is breaking. Everyone, be prepared!”
At the same time, the shield shattered, and Hong Se-young instantly caught the attention of the rampaging Turtle. She was slightly grazed by the green liquid, perhaps due to a slight miscalculation or mistake, but at the same time, Pyeong-hwa’s healing restored her H/P.
[Hunted the Giant Turtle.]
[Calculating the total number of cleared dungeon participants. Total: 6.]
[Recognized as a difficult achievement.]
[Achievement points slightly increased due to the successful raid of the dungeon boss monster.]
[Bonus stat +12 granted.]
The Slayers changed, the field monsters changed, and even the appearance of the dungeon changed. Various changes continued to occur, and the concept of a “dungeon boss monster raid” was introduced for the first time.
“And… it seems that the total number of participants determined the achievement this time as well.”
If it had been 60 participants instead of 6, they could have raided the Giant Turtle much more easily. Of course, the probability of casualties would have been higher.
