Rodin used Teleport magic to return to the inn. He felt a slight dizziness, but it subsided quickly.

Thankfully, nothing had happened here during the night.

‘It’s bright outside. Hmm, I should tell Karis and Jena, right?’

Karis and Jena were currently acting as escorts. They were likely to remain by his side until the day they died.

To prepare for that, they needed to know in advance who had fallen out with whom, and who might become an enemy.

“Karis, Jena!”

At Rodin’s call, Karis and Jena rushed in. It seemed they had been waiting right outside the door.

“You’ve returned?”

“We were worried when you weren’t here in the morning.”

“Sorry. From now on, at least one of you will accompany me wherever I go. And if I absolutely have to move alone, I’ll let you know beforehand.”

Rodin hadn’t originally intended to move without Karis and Jena. Jito had been in such a hurry that he hadn’t had time to consider them.

“There’s no need to apologize.”

“That’s right, Master. Simply give the command.”

“No. You two are my escorts. Escorts should know the whereabouts of the person they’re guarding. This was my fault. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Rodin apologized once more.

This incident was clearly his own mistake. It was because of Jito, but it wouldn’t have happened if Karis and Jena had stayed on his mind.

“Understood.”

“I’ll explain what happened after I left at midnight. Jito…”

Rodin described everything he had experienced that night in as much detail as possible. He didn’t leave out even what he thought might be unnecessary.

Whether it was necessary or not was for Karis and Jena—as his escorts—to decide. Rodin’s role was to relay the full truth so that they could make the right choices.

“Hmm, then we should assume that your relationship with the Tower Lord Bison of the Herias Magic Tower has soured.”

“We’ve fallen out, but I wouldn’t say we’re enemies. Unless we meet in some deserted area with no one around, he’s unlikely to attack in a public space.”

“Understood. We don’t know the faces of the Tower Lord Bison of Herias Magic Tower or Tower Lord Tamia of Chronoa Magic Tower. If we see them later, could you give us a heads-up?”

“You’ll recognize them right away. Image Projection!”

Rodin cast a spell. Soon, the images of Tower Lord Tamia and Tower Lord Bison appeared like a hologram in the air.

The 5th Circle spell Image Projection was a combination of the 4th Circle Printing Magic and the 5th Circle Illusion Magic. Since Printing Magic was frequently used and he was already familiar with Illusion Magic, combining them wasn’t too difficult.

“Confirmed.”

“I’ve seen them as well. Tower Lord Tamia looks much older.”

“Yeah. Tower Lord Tamia is over 100 years old. She’s never revealed her exact age, but she’s around 102 or 103. Tower Lord Bison is 81 this year. He was born seven years before Tower Lord Francis.”

Rodin dispelled the illusion. Karis and Jena stepped back and returned to their proper positions as escorts.

“What about Larry?”

“He finished his morning training and is resting.”

“I’m pretty late, huh? Didn’t expect him to already be done with morning training.”

Fortunately, he wasn’t late for breakfast. If he went out and waited a little, the meal should arrive soon.

“Would you like to train even now?”

“No. I’ve got a lot to do today, so I’ll skip a day. Let’s go.”

There were a few things Rodin had sworn to himself to never neglect, and one of them was not skipping meals. Unless there was no other choice, he intended to eat regularly without missing a single meal.

He headed to the lounge where meals were served. Just then, Larry entered, drying his wet hair after taking a shower.

“Oh? Brother! When did you get back?”

“Just now. Undine, dry him off a bit and wash me up.”

—Hiii. I like it.

It seemed that when Undine said “I like it”, it didn’t mean “I like it.” She used it even in conversations where it made no sense to express liking something.

‘Is it like an onomatopoeia?’

Rodin set aside his curiosity about Undine and sat down in a chair in the lounge. Bianca arrived shortly after.

“Big Brother Rodin!”

“Mm? What’s up?”

“They said you weren’t around this morning?”

The moment she sat down, Bianca picked up her utensils. The food hadn’t even arrived yet, but she was already preparing to eat.

“Yeah. I had some things to take care of. Ah! I took down the giant wyvern, so we won’t be ambushed anymore.”

“Huh? You took it down?”

“Big Brother Rodin took down the giant wyvern? Last night?”

“Yep. I happened to get the chance.”

Rodin spoke casually, but it was no trivial matter. For the Aramia County, which lacked military power aside from its naval forces, it was a huge relief.

“Wow! That’s great. A lot of people were worried about the giant wyvern.”

“Big Brother Rodin. As expected, you’re the best.”

“I’m not the best, come on.”

Just then, the door opened and breakfast was served.

Maybe because it was a high-class inn, even the breakfast was quite luxurious. The taste wasn’t bad either. The only problem was that even the tableware was too fancy.

‘Makes it awkward to order food.’

He was thinking of stocking up on food in his subspace, but the tableware was an issue.

The convenient thing would be to store the food as-is, in the containers it came with. To prioritize convenience, he’d need to buy the tableware too.

The price was one thing, but he also doubted whether the inn would even sell it.

If they required the dishes to be returned, then he’d have to transfer all the food into new containers. That process was far from simple.

‘Should I ask if they can give me food in my own containers?’

He had already been staying at this place for over ten days. As a long-term guest bringing in a good sum of money for the inn, they might accommodate a reasonable request.

‘Let’s give it a shot.’

He finished his meal. Larry went out again to resume training, and Bianca headed to the garden to draw.

She had once been into writing poetry for a short time, but now she was completely immersed in painting. Wherever they went, she’d pull out her art supplies to draw the scenery.

‘How long will it last?’

Her interest in poetry faded before she even finished reading a single poetry book. Her interest in painting likely wouldn’t last much longer either.

—

After breakfast, Rodin went to see the innkeeper. He casually asked if it was possible to serve food using different containers. Fortunately, the answer was yes.

“How many servings can you prepare?”

“As many as needed, sir.”

“Would 1,000 servings be possible?”
