Evan glanced at the wall to his left. At this time, inside the Room of Requirement…

What Professor Trelawney saw must have been Malfoy. Could it be that he was so excited when he went in that he forgot to close the door?!

If so, it meant he must have been extremely agitated — so much so that he even forgot to close the door!

But why would he be so agitated?

There could only be one answer: he had fixed the Vanishing Cabinet!

Evan estimated Malfoy’s progress. If Malfoy had managed to solve those few problems, then fixing the Vanishing Cabinet around this time was entirely possible. And if he had fixed it, then the Death Eaters could appear at Hogwarts at any moment.

This was the method to enter the school undetected — completely unexpected. But if Voldemort’s goal was truly Dumbledore himself, Evan didn’t think sending a bunch of Death Eaters to storm in was a good idea.

Unless Voldemort was certain that Dumbledore wouldn’t be at the school, or was absolutely sure to defeat him.

Was Voldemort that confident? Before transforming himself into an evil god, he probably wasn’t.

Thinking this way, if Dumbledore were to leave Hogwarts tonight, it would undoubtedly be the best opportunity for those Death Eaters to strike.

Likewise, it would also be the best opportunity to capture the remaining Death Eaters all at once. The Order of the Phoenix should take action.

Evan thought so and felt that he should remind the headmaster later…

Of course, there was also the possibility that Malfoy had repaired the Vanishing Cabinet to let the Death Eaters — those who had ties to the Malfoy family — into the school to serve as reinforcements. He hoped to use this method to create chaos and seize the opportunity to kill Dumbledore, thus completing the task Voldemort had given him.

Evan even suspected for a while that this might be the truth — that the helper Malfoy brought in was the werewolf Fenrir Greyback.

This idea might have started out behind Voldemort’s back, but by now, there was no way Voldemort wasn’t aware of it.

And since he hadn’t opposed it, he must be planning to make use of Malfoy’s idea in some way.

In any case, this was a dangerous sign — something to be on high alert for!

Beside Evan, Harry continued to ask, “You said there was a voice in there? What was it saying?”

“I don’t know that it was saying anything,” said Professor Trelawney hesitantly. “It was … whooping.”

“Whooping?”

“Gleefully,” she said, nodding.

“Oh, gleefully,” Evan asked with interest, “And it sounded happy?”

“Very happy,” said Professor Trelawney sniffily.

“As though it was celebrating?”

“Most definitely.”

“And then —?”

“And then I called out ‘Who’s there?’ “

“You couldn’t have found out who it was without asking?” Harry asked her, slightly frustrated.

“The Inner Eye,” said Professor Trelawney with dignity, straightening her shawls and many strands of glittering beads, “was fixed upon matters well outside the mundane realms of whooping voices.”

“Right,” said Harry hastily; he had heard about Professor Trelawney’s Inner Eye all too often before. “And did the voice say who was there?”

“No, it did not,” she said. “Everything went pitch-black and the next thing I knew, I was being hurled headfirst out of the room!”

“You were just thrown out like that?” said Evan. “Did he use magic? You didn’t see that coming?”

“No, I did not, as I say, it was pitch —” She stopped and glared at Evan and Harry suspiciously, then said hesitantly, “As for whether it was magic, I suppose it must have been — probably the Impediment Jinx hit me, although I didn’t see any light…”

The Vanishing Cabinet wasn’t that close to the Room of Requirement’s entrance. Using an Impediment Jinx from that far away, and it was still pitch-black?

It would be more credible to say that Malfoy had been hiding behind the door and threw her out!

Evan glanced again toward the Room of Requirement. Maybe someone had already infiltrated Hogwarts.

For someone to throw Professor Trelawney out like that, they’d have to be quite strong, someone like Fenrir Greyback, for instance.

But if it really was him, wouldn’t the more logical move be to pull Trelawney inside rather than throw her out?

“Well, do you have anything else to add?”

“The eyes of the mundane world may no longer see, but the Inner Eye tells me that something ominous is drawing near to Hogwarts. I saw —”

“Whatever you saw, I think you’d better tell Professor Dumbledore,” said Harry, interrupting her. “He ought to know Malfoy’s celebrating — I mean, that someone threw you out of the room.”

To their surprise, Professor Trelawney drew herself up at this suggestion, looking haughty.

“The headmaster has intimated that he would prefer fewer visits from me,” she said coldly. “I am not one to press my company upon those who do not value it. He doesn’t understand what I see. If Dumbledore chooses to ignore the warnings the cards show —”

“Cards?” That was new!

“Indeed,” Professor Trelawney pulled a card dramatically from underneath her shawls. “Again and again, no matter how I lay them out, this card always appears in the end… Endless darkness shrouds the sky above the castle, that is ominous … the lightning-struck tower. Calamity. Disaster. Coming nearer all the time …”

“Is this a prophecy, Professor?” Evan’s heart moved, and he asked uncertainly.

He remembered, at this time Dumbledore…

“Of course it is!” Professor Trelawney looked deeply offended. “Only one with the Inner Eye could draw this card from so many and recognize it for what it truly is. Believe me, my child, I see shadows gathering around you all.”

She looked a little abnormal, but Evan couldn’t be sure if this was her normal state.

But in any case, it seemed that tonight was destined to be not peaceful!

“Right … well, I still think you should tell Dumbledore about this voice, and everything going dark and being thrown out of the room —” said Harry a little impatiently. “— and your cards and the ominous things you saw.”

“You think so?” Professor Trelawney seemed to consider the matter for a moment, but it was obvious that she liked the idea of retelling her little adventure, and she seemed quietly pleased with herself.

“It’s necessary. We’re going to see Dumbledore right now,” said Evan.”We could go together. I’m very interested in your cards.”

He had been staring at the yellowed card, which showed a castle tower shrouded in black. A bolt of white lightning slashed downward, illuminating the outline of the tower. The top of the card was pitch-black, deeper and darker than the shroud below, so dark that even the lightning couldn’t pierce it.

Strange… Was there really a card designed like this?

Evan wanted to see more information from it, but it was useless, and finally he had to give up.
