Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures - H.P.S.T Chapter 1706: The End of a Cycle
BOOM!!!
Evan became magic itself.
Carried along with the roaring beam, his consciousness rode the torrent of power as it tore free from the Ravenclaw castle. With sheer force of will, he drove the vast sea of magic surrounding him straight towards the grotesque statue of the evil god, hurling it forward with merciless intent.
His mind was empty now — utterly blank — save for the image of that statue ahead.
That was his target!
He compelled the overwhelming magic to surge forward with only one remaining thought in his mind: to crash into the statue of the evil god and destroy it.
As for his physical condition, the power he controlled, and other follow-up matters, Evan had no feeling or thought whatsoever. There was no time left to think. He only knew that he was now controlling magic beyond measure, far beyond anything he had ever imagined possible.
The magic enveloped him, gathering around him, taking him as its core. With it, he could annihilate anything in his path.
When a person grasps overwhelming power, there is often a sense that the world itself could be shattered at a whim — but Evan felt he had gone beyond even that. He no longer needed thought — nothing remained that could stand in his way.
A huge magical roar cut through the air, and the entire space trembled violently.
At that moment, it was as if nothing existed between heaven and earth but that lone beam of magic.
Countless streams of power collided and fused. Red and blue magic twisted together, boiling and surging, forming an unimaginably vast column of light centered on Evan and the two Philosopher’s Stones. It cleaved through the void itself, racing forward with apocalyptic force.
The hideous, terrifying phantom of the evil god, upon contact with the magical beam, was instantly annihilated and vanished, unable to even offer a moment’s resistance.
The previously arrogant statue of the evil god abandoned its devouring of Herpo and the surrounding souls, fleeing in desperation towards the Veil of Death. It had to leave this space immediately. It no longer sought to consume Herpo’s power. It sought only to escape.
Now it knew with absolute certainty: if that beam struck it, it would be annihilated without a trace.
This terrifying magic was far beyond the power of mortal spellcasters.
A thousand years of accumulation — power gathered by the Ravenclaw family since the age of ancient magic — had erupted in this single moment.
The energy converging here was enough to tear the void apart. Had the Devouring God’s true body been present, it might not have feared such an attack — but not now. Not in this form. The so-called indestructible evil god’s statue could not possibly withstand such a collision.
It hurled itself towards the Veil of Death, its unnatural crimson light flaring to its utmost. The stone door, already closing, was forced violently back open, the sickly green stone and the space beyond it flooded with blood-red radiance.
Yet compared with the onrushing beam of magic, that red light, which could have illuminated the sky, was no brighter than a dying glowworm — flickering, fragile, on the verge of extinguishing, demonstrating the immense power disparity between the two.
Entangled together, the god-statue and Herpo the Foul were dragged into the Veil of Death as one.
The next second, Evan, carrying immense magical energy, also shot in.
BOOM!
The Veil of Death shook violently, and cracks instantly appeared on the massive pillars.
The cracks grew larger and larger!
The Veil of Death seemed about to be shattered by the two evil gods and the powerful magical energy, shaking violently for more than ten minutes before gradually stopping.
Inside the stone gate there was nothing but darkness — a vast, boundless void.
Endless darkness flowed slowly within the Veil of Dearth, swallowing even light itself. It seemed to lead into infinite emptiness. Only after everything had finally fallen silent did the massive gate begin to close, inch by inch, until it was completely shut.
Silence!
Utter silence!
The entire Ravenclaw territory was deathly still; not a single living creature could be seen.
The souls that had not been consumed by the evil god gradually faded into the air. They had been slain by Herpo’s blasphemous creation, cursed by the power of the God of Death to wander here forever — until, a thousand years later, when Evan would arrive, and a new cycle could finally begin.
In the deathly silence, the music from the music box slowly rose from the central tower, sounding exceptionally monotonous and sorrowful, as though lamenting the terrible battle, recounting the fall of the Ravenclaw family.
But soon, a tremendous roar erupted from within the castle, drowning out the music box’s sound.
Having absorbed far too much magical power, the Ravenclaw castle began to collapse at terrifying speed. The eternal magical lights atop the five corner towers flickered out one by one. The Valkyrie statues toppled from their spires and shattered upon the ground.
The glory of the Ravenclaw family vanished at that very moment.
From this day onward, the once-mighty Ravenclaw lineage became nothing more than history!
About two hours later, the roaring sounds from within the castle gradually subsided.
At this time, more than half of the Ravenclaw castle had been destroyed by the unleashed magic. The magical energies that had converged upon the central tower began to dissipate.
The land centered around the castle and the Veil of Death was filled with chaotic magic. Even though the entire Wizarding world soon realized that something was terribly wrong here, no wizard dared enter the Ravenclaw domain before the magic had fully settled.
The first to arrive were nearby Muggle lords, adventurers, and thieves. By the time the wizards of the Council of Elders reached the site a year later, all they found were scattered ruins, a thoroughly looted castle, and the remains of the Veil of Death.
No one knew what had truly happened here!
After careful investigation, the Council of Elders concluded that something had gone wrong with the Veil of Death itself.
They transferred it to a heavily guarded location under the Council’s control. On the surface, it no longer showed any trace of magic. Yet those who had witnessed death could still hear the whispers of the dead when standing before it — proof that the space beyond the Veil was far from as calm as it appeared. …
………………………………………………………
A thousand years later, in Ravenclaw territory, the Dark Witch’s magic had reached a crucial stage.
The ghosts of the Ravenclaw family were reenacting the magic of the past. The Veil of Death was about to be opened once more…
On the plaza before the Veil, cultists of the evil god committed suicide one after another in brutal and horrifying ways.
With each death of a Dark wizard, an ancient rune flew out from the cracked stone walls flanking the illusory Veil of Death.
These ancient runes soared into the air, resonating with the two evil god phantoms hovering above the gate.
High overhead, the phantom of the God of Death and that of the Devouring God twisted together, merging — or rather, the Devouring God extended countless grotesque tentacles, wrapping them tightly around the God of Death, around that dreadful eye, constricting ever tighter.
The two evil god phantoms, tightly entwined, appeared ever more grotesque —
something twisted beyond description.
The Dark Witch was so overwhelmed with excitement that she was on the verge of suffocation. She could feel it clearly: the power of the evil god was growing rapidly, surging with every passing moment.
With her assistance, it would not be long before her master descended upon this world.
Purification was about to begin!
The Master would cleanse everything!!
Let all mortals kneel and tremble —
and receive the judgment of the Great God!!!
