Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 183 (Part 1):
The cross-dressing contest unexpectedly turned into a fierce competition. Except for the first contestant who was disappointing, the quality of participants notably increased after Asuka.
“Contestant number 8 is a fourth-year from the magic department, ‘Kiss’! It’s not his real name but a pseudonym!”
Amidst cheers, the contestant named Kiss blew kisses to the crowd. Wearing a pink wig and a bizarre dress adorned with stars and decorations, he resembled an actress performing on stage.
Using magic to appear female was prohibited in the contest. It would give the magic department an unfair advantage, though it was true that the department had an edge in creating disguise items.
Kiss didn’t completely look like a girl as Asuka did, but he managed a plausible appearance with the help of prosthetics, decorations, and makeup.
Above all, he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the contest, actively posing and exuding a coquettish charm. While no one could match Asuka in pulling off cross-dressing, Kiss’s efforts to make the contest fun elicited a strong response from the crowd.
“Wow, awesome! You’re the best!”
“Kiss, I love you!”
Watching the event, Alea became increasingly bewildered.
‘These guys are taking this cross-dressing contest more seriously than their exams. And what’s with the crowd going wild?’
The puppet show earlier was also of high quality. As a perennial top student, Alea found it all incomprehensible.
Yet, it was undeniably entertaining. Unknowingly, Alea became fully absorbed in the contest, unaware that Helmut beside her was also engrossed.
There were twelve contestants in total, with a notably lower participation rate among upperclassmen. Sian’s turn came up quickly.
“Next up, second-year from the magic department, Sian!”
As Sian stepped forward, the anticipation in the crowd was palpable. Asuka’s expression hardened, his eyes ablaze with competitive fire.
The moment Sian appeared, a loud cheer accompanied by whistles erupted.
Wow!
He confidently chose an unexpected approach, unlike the cute appearance many had anticipated. With a red rose in his hair and lips painted red, Sian presented a completely different persona.
Gone was his gentle and soft image, replaced by a provocative and sexy girl on stage.
Sian held a whip in one hand. As soon as he appeared, he snapped the whip on the floor, causing an uproar in the audience.
“Amazing!”
“Hit me, please!”
Sian winked seductively at the frenzied crowd.
His tight-fitting black dress perfectly accentuated his figure, making him a much more active contender than Asuka. His determination to win was palpable.
Alea muttered, “He’s sold his soul for the prize money.”
“Rather, he seems to be enjoying it,” Helmut replied, prompting Alea to close her mouth. Seeing acquaintances behave like this was utterly baffling.
Although a few more contestants appeared, none made as strong an impression as Sian. The atmosphere was different from when Asuka first appeared. The later entrants were too aggressively enthusiastic, causing them to overshadow him.
After all contestants had appeared, the host raised his hand as the voting was about to start.
“Ladies and gentlemen! One last chance to charm, just one! Those who haven’t shown everything, please raise your hand! This is your last opportunity!”
Several hands went up, eyes filled with a desire to win. After they showcased their skills on stage, the host asked one more time.
“Anyone else? If not, we’ll proceed to the voting…”
“Wait.”
Asuka gestured.
“I’ll do it.”
“Oh, indeed! Let’s see what the second-year cold beauty Miss Asuka from the swordsmanship department has to offer! Please, come forward!”
As Asuka passed by, he whispered.
“I don’t know which department you’re from, but let’s see after the contest.”
The host laughed nervously, well aware of Asuka’s notorious reputation, and sweated profusely.
Asuka lifted the hem of his dress and pulled out something hidden inside. It was a sword, cleverly concealed.
Those who knew Asuka widened their eyes.
‘Is he planning a murder here?’
‘Even if he’s annoyed at the host!’
Some wondered if they should intervene as Asuka drew the sword from under his dress. His eyes flashed coldly.
“Bring me something to cut.”
He had no intention of performing a dance or singing like a clown. If he was from the swordsmanship department, he would showcase swordsmanship! That was Asuka’s idea.
However, this was hardly a skill fitting for a cross-dressing contest. Murmurs of disapproval spread through the crowd.
Even in drag, Asuka maintained his domineering presence. The image of a delicate beauty wielding a sword fiercely suited him strangely well.
The host received something from the audience.
“As expected, how about this apple for the cutting show!”
“Place it above your head.”
When Asuka directed with a gesture, the host, terrified, shook his hands.
“Ha, ha, maybe throwing it in the air would be better.”
“If you don’t throw it correctly, you’ll be cut along with it.”
“Then, let’s use magic. With magic.”
It turned out the host was from the magic department. He levitated the apple with magic.
