Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 337 (Part 1):
After coming to terms with the King of Veneta, there were no further conflicts with Veneta. Treated with generous hospitality, Helmut and his companions safely returned to Greencana.
It seemed Heike’s artifact was still incomplete, as there had been no word from her.
Helmut’s group decided to stay in Greencana until Heike finished her research and came to find them.
“Don’t worry about food shortages just because you’re staying here. Our house has plenty,” Sian said lightly.
Among Helmut’s group, Elaga was the one who liked Greencana the most.
[I like this village. No chance of getting lost here.]
Meanwhile, Igrelle had grown quiet at some point, with an inexplicable shadow falling over her previously energetic face.
Igrelle spent all day gazing up at the blue sky with her chin propped up.
Elaga accurately diagnosed her condition.
[It’s depression. She’s a bird, after all. Of course she’d feel stifled not being able to fly.]
Sian furrowed his brow.
“Even so, letting her transform here would be a problem.”
If a massive demonic beast like Igrelle appeared, it would cause an uproar throughout Greencana.
Though she didn’t outwardly look like a dangerous demonic beast.
[If she has a breakdown, that might be even more dangerous.]
“It might be okay to let her roam briefly, but without Heike here, we can’t risk undoing her transformation spell and then failing to reapply it.”
[True enough.]
In the end, they concluded that Igrelle had no choice but to endure until Heike returned.
And now there was another remaining issue.
“I have something to say.”
Helmut gathered his friends and began with those words.
It was a meeting with Alea, Sian, Asuka, Charlotte, Elaga, and the dazed-looking Igrelle.
“Have you finally decided what to do?”
Sian asked with a serious expression. Helmut nodded slowly.
“I intend to go to Renosa to reclaim what is rightfully mine.”
Helmut’s voice rang out firmly.
“As a bloodline of Renosa, as its rightful heir.”
Charlotte’s lips twitched. She seemed unable to find words to say. Asuka asked in her stead.
“Does that mean you’re seeking revenge against Renosa?”
“If they try to stop me, they’ll have to pay the price. However…”
Helmut cast his gaze toward Charlotte.
“If you’re asking whether I’ve chosen to raise my sword against them, that’s not my intention.”
The sword symbolizes force and power itself. Simply wielding that power can achieve the goal.
“If I reclaim my rights, that alone will be my revenge.”
As the firstborn son of the Grand Duke of Renosa, if Helmut reclaims his rights as Renosa’s heir, that would be the last thing those who feared him and sent him to the Forest of Roots would want.
The people of Renosa. His mother, and Michael, who must have firmly established himself as Renosa’s heir by now. It would be a difficult battle.
‘They’ll simply claim they did it to protect Renosa.’
Helmut had emerged from the Forest of Roots, and now the anomaly with the sacred barrier had become evident.
The process of breaching the barrier had revealed connections between Helmut, Heike, and Antiol. A bearer of the Seed of Darkness colluding with public enemies—it was enough to provoke the temple into desperately seeking his elimination.
Conflict was inevitable.
Though the Temple had lost much of its power to intervene in worldly affairs, they were still the Temple. No country could ignore their voice.
But the decision was already made. Helmut had already survived several life-threatening trials. Compared to those, this seemed like a challenge with greater possibility.
‘I still have cards to play.’
Helmut had saved his father, the Grand Duke of Renosa, who had been gravely ill at the time. Surely, the duke would have learned the truth by now.
Nobles understand honor, and the Grand Duke of Renosa more than anyone.
Helmut had also saved Charlotte, prompting her to defy her family’s wishes and enter the Forest of Roots to rescue him. Charlotte’s temperament must have come from somewhere – if not from the Grand Duchess, then surely from the Grand Duke.
Even if there was no paternal affection, he couldn’t deny that he owed Helmut a debt.
‘I can demand repayment for saving his life.’
Moreover, Helmut’s early ventures after leaving the Forest of Roots hadn’t been in vain. The connections he had made and the things he had set right would prove useful.
And here were those he wished would join him. Those Helmut trusted more than anyone currently.
“I’d like to hear your thoughts.”
[You’re not asking for mine, are you? I’m coming with you anyway. And that half-mad Igrelle will too.]
Elaga responded quickly.
“The same goes for me.”
Alea also answered simply.
