“But where did Sian go?”

Heike suddenly glanced around.

There were four humans who came here: Heike, Helmut, Alea, and Sian.

But only three were present. Everyone flinched in surprise.

“He didn’t fall off on the way, did he?”

Helmut spoke up. Could he have fallen onto the sacred barrier?

Fearing that Igrelle’s piercing demonic energy might stir the Seed of Darkness, he had focused solely on defense.

Not to mention dealing with Elaga’s frantic outbursts.

Sian had slipped his mind. After all, Sian could use flight magic.

Heike shook her head.

“No, he was definitely with us until just before landing. I was keeping an eye on everyone.”

As the elder and an Archmage, she had watched over the others even in the chaos.

Alea, though she had the capacity, hadn’t paid much attention to Sian.

“He should take care of his own safety.”

“When we landed, the dust made it hard to see… but I think he was with us.”

Energy rose from Heike’s hand. She immediately cast a detection spell to scan the surroundings.

Then, a powerful force was felt from just beyond. It was close.

“The aura of the spirits.”

Helmut muttered. It was Sian. Without hesitation, the humans ran toward it.

The grass around the sacred barrier had already withered, and the trees stood bare and gaunt.

This cleared their view.

Sian soon appeared before them.

He was floating in the air. It wasn’t a bizarre sight but rather a warm, soft image, as if he were drifting in gentle water.

A serene yet unwaveringly powerful force, like the earth itself, enveloped Sian’s entire body.

That force melted into him, radiating the light of nature. A display of colors that couldn’t be pinned down.

It wasn’t holy or radiant like Lumen’s light, nor was it thick or ominous like the Demon King’s.

It was simply mystical yet familiar, as if nature itself resided within him.

Astonishingly, the plants that had withered and lost their vitality around him were regaining their greenery.

Everyone present understood the significance of the phenomenon before them.

“It’s the succession. The Earth Spirit… has chosen a new Rodril.”

Heike spoke as if letting out a groan. The nerves frayed by Igrelle’s rampage were finding calm.

A miracle that could happen anytime, anywhere.

A phenomenon that appeared only when the Spirit of the Earth was succeeded.

To witness this historic scene was a blessing in itself.

Without realizing it, she recorded the scene with magic.

A gasp of awe escaped her lips.

“Those who have seen the birth of a new Rodril could be counted on one hand in this world.”

Was it good luck or bad?

To witness such a scene after escaping a life-threatening crisis.

They had brought Sian along, thinking the Earth Spirit might reveal something.

They hadn’t expected the succession to occur here. The Earth Spirit must have felt a sense of crisis, observing the sacred barrier up close through Sian.

Terra was still young for the succession to occur. This must mean Sian was deemed suitable to embody its will and fight against the enemy.

Sian’s body, having absorbed all the power, slowly descended to the ground.

The newly sprouted grass rose to gently cradle his body.

The Earth Spiritmaster. Here, “earth” didn’t merely refer to the power of the land.

It was a powerful entity that governed all spirits. A being connected to the world’s origin.

And Sian was the medium through which the Earth Spirit manifested its will and power.

Sian’s body trembled slightly. He quietly opened his eyes.

“Huh, what happened to me?”

The moment he leapt from Igrelle’s body, he had tumbled to the ground.

Though he mitigated the impact with magic, the shock reverberated through his insides. His stomach churned.

As Sian rose, he instinctively moved his feet. Though the forest was withered, he felt more at ease the closer he got to the trees.

Then, at some point, he lost consciousness.

He hadn’t sustained injuries severe enough to faint.

Yet his consciousness had simply blacked out.

“Wait… did I just… inherit the Earth Spirit?”

Sian fumbled over his body. He felt an immense power deep within.

The difference was so stark he couldn’t help but notice.

The feeling that his ability to control spirits had reached boundless heights. As if his realm had been forcibly elevated.

Helmut answered.

“That’s right. The succession has happened.”

“Are you okay? Can you handle it?”

Heike asked kindly. Sian looked up.

The expressions of Heike, Alea, and Helmut approaching him were subtle, tinged with surprise.

Moments later, Sian burst out into laughter.

“Hahaha! Alea, now I’m stronger than you. I’m the vessel of the Earth Spirit!”

“Congratulations.”

Though she spoke with a hint of sarcasm, a small crease formed between Alea’s brows, as if she were displeased.

Whether he had become the Earth Spiritmaster or the new lord of Rodril, Sian was still Sian.

It seemed that while his power grew, his mental maturity didn’t follow suit.
