Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 91 (Part 1):
“Gentlemen! Can you stop clinging to each other?”
Before starting the class, the instructor who had separated Asuka and Helmut paired them with different guys.
The guy who was paired with Asuka had an expression as if he was being dragged to a slaughterhouse.
Originally, in the swordsmanship department, the instructor does not interfere with the relationship between students.
However, separating Helmut and Asuka was an extraordinary measure. Those two were harmful when together.
Generally upright and outstanding in skills, but Helmut, who has a somewhat twisted corner, and Asuka, who has a combination of skills and a dirty temperament, caused a big incident a while ago.
Helmut looked at the guy standing in front of him.
‘His name… was it Andro?’
He was the guy who was brutally defeated by Helmut in the transfer exam. He did not participate in ignoring Helmut because he was a commoner, which was fortunate for him.
Andro was the only transfer student who did not belong to the Sabbat gang.
He quietly mingled with the existing swordsmanship department guys and spent his first semester at the academy without any trouble.
That was the academy life that Helmut had hoped for.
“I look forward to working with you.”
Andro first nodded his head and greeted him. Helmut also nodded his head in response.
Asuka, who was standing apart, kicked the ground and expressed her dissatisfaction.
Instructor Patricia, who had looked around, started the class.
“Well, gentlemen! You all must be aware of the correct posture for swinging a sword? It’s not easy to notice your own bad habits. So, you need someone to point out your wrong posture.
From straight cutting, left, right, diagonal cutting, each of you performs. First, the student on the left performs, and the student on the right looks at the posture and points out what is wrong. Sincerely! If you have any objections, you can call me.”
Asuka first swung his sword dryly. It was loose but the speed was hard to catch with the eye.
The opponent murmured in a small voice as if a mosquito was buzzing.
“It seems like the wrist is slightly bent to the left…”
“Is there a problem with your vocal cords? Should I help you clear them?”
“No, it’s not that.”
“So, you don’t want to show sincerity to me? Is that what you mean?”
“Why are you picking a fight?”
While Asuka and his partner were arguing, Helmut was also looking at his partner’s posture.
Andro, who was standing on the left, moved his wooden sword. After finishing his movement, he looked at Helmut with a slight tension.
Helmut was practically evaluated in the swordsmanship department as a guy who is good enough to even hold his own against Asuka.
Andro knew that fact from the beginning.
Helmut pondered a bit. It was his first time pointing out someone.
In fact, the posture is twisted in repetitive training, but when you start like this, it is well-organized, so it does not reveal the flaws well.
Still, there were quite a few problems that could be seen.
Helmut learned swordsmanship from a master who scolded him for losing his focus even if he did it properly. The standard itself was very detailed.
‘I can’t say with that same level.’
If it wasn’t him but Darien in his place, Andro would have been hit on the back of his head more than ten times.
Andro, who was a swordsman, showed his pride when Helmut didn’t say anything.
“Is there no problem?”
“That’s not it.”
Helmut chose his words. How many should he point out roughly?
“First of all, when you lower and raise your sword in a straight posture, your waist shakes. The distribution of power is not properly done. More power is concentrated on the upper body than the waist.”
“Is there more?”
“When you cut horizontally, on the contrary, too much power goes into the waist. The end of the sword is stiff. If you hold a real sword and collide with the opponent’s sword, the shock will be concentrated on the waist.”
Helmut organized his thoughts and spit out the conclusion.
“Overall, the control of speed is lacking. It feels like you’re in a hurry to just adjust your posture.”
He didn’t mean to criticize harshly, but it ended up that way as he spoke.
Andro was a decent level compared to other guys in the swordsmanship department.
Actually, Andro had a stiff expression, but he didn’t seem to feel bad. He nodded his head.
“Certainly, it seems like you’re right. It was a helpful observation.”
The other guys who were listening around also nodded their heads.
These students had never been in a position to observe someone else’s posture, even if they had felt something was off. It was difficult to express what felt strange.
Darien was straightforward and rarely praised.
Helmut learned from him to accurately recognize the problem first. He always asked and heard what the problem was.
The voice of Instructor Patricia came from the other side.
“Again, now the student on the left looks at the posture. Start!”
“Is it my turn now?”
Helmut took his posture. Andro watched Helmut’s movements. There was anticipation for how well a guy who points out so well would do.
Andro, who opened his eyes thinly, soon tasted a sensation as if he was freezing.
‘What… the sword.’
