Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 94 (Part 2):
Helmut took advantage of the noisy commotion caused by Asuka and Sian and discreetly interjected.
“Will this pay off the debt?”
The debt for treating Asuka. Alea hadn’t demanded a price for it yet. She seemed to be trying to let it slide, but Alea, who understood it instantly, chuckled.
“That’s ridiculous.”
It seems like she has something in mind to get. Something not easily given. A bad feeling crept in.
Sian gestured.
“Weren’t you going to buy something? Let’s go in.”
“If you’re not going to buy it, then why?”
“I’m not going to buy it, so I’ll stick around to watch. It’s a bit like that to just look around without buying anything. The merchants here have ghost-like eyes.”
“Do as you please.”
With Alea unexpectedly joining them, they wandered through the marketplace together.
Surprisingly, Alea only bought a few notebooks and writing tools before closing her wallet.
Asuka teased her.
“You acted like you had a lot of money to spend, but it turns out you’re not. Seems like you’re a bit tight on cash.”
“Wasting money everywhere is something only someone thoughtless like you would do.”
“Well, still!”
“If you want to fight, I won’t refuse.”
Their gazes clashed sharply. A battle between a mage and a swordsman. It was quite intriguing.
Alea was the top student in the second year of the Magic Department, and Asuka was the second strongest after Helmut in the Swordsmanship Department. It was curious who would win.
However, unlike Alea who has reason, the problem was that Asuka doesn’t know his limits. But he was confident that he could restrain it at an appropriate level.
But the fight didn’t break out.
“Stop it. What are you two doing in the street like kids? How would people think of Greta Academy if you two damage the properties and fight here?”
When Sian scolded them, the combative atmosphere subsided a bit.
Asuka didn’t care about such things, but at least Alea, who is an honor student, did.
Sian quickly changed the subject.
“Ah, my head hurts. I guess I’m still a bit tipsy. I want some ice cream. There’s a great ice cream shop nearby.”
And then Sian made Alea buy ice cream for them because they helped her previously.
The shop sold twelve different flavors of gelato, and it was quite expensive. It would be a significant burden for Sian or Asuka’s wallets, not Helmut, who had certainly secretly saved money.
As they indulged in the ice cream with three different flavors piled high in their cups, Sian smiled happily. In the end, Sian was the winner.
“I feel like my wallet has been emptied.”
“It must be an illusion. As if such a thing would happen to Alea of all people.”
“The ice cream is delicious.”
Alea was not as stingy as they thought. She also bought ice cream for Asuka.
Asuka enjoyed the rare favor from her while eating ice cream.
‘He’s annoying, but he also has a good side.’
That good side was entirely related to financial matters. Sian chuckled and said, “I think I see the benefits of this situation, at least for you, Alea.”
“What do you mean?”
“We’re not restrained by numbers, and we can’t be overwhelmed by strength.”
Besides, one of them is a crazy dog from the swordsmanship department. It’s hard not to hesitate.
Alea furrowed her brow.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Anyway, an advantage is an advantage. Alea had never walked the streets of Baden with anyone other than Helmut until now. Was it because of the attention they attracted?
These four coming together as a group was unexpected.
Helmut didn’t care, and he knew it was Sian’s obvious intention, but Alea felt uneasy.
‘Such a thing should not happen.’
It was a separate issue from being comfortable. It was a wall that had been well maintained for the past year.
She had to be vigilant. It was a relationship that would be shattered the moment the secret was revealed.
‘More than anything, that guy Asuka is not okay.’
Alea was picky about people. Very much so.
Asuka was especially an out-of-bounds person. Probably for most people.
“Shall we go back to the dormitory now?”
Sian suggested first. He had achieved all his goals. There was also a calculation that if Asuka and Alea were stuck together for a long time, it would only lead to a fight.
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
Helmut also agreed. He had recently gained enlightenment.
He realized that if he completed his training early in the morning, even if the evening time disappeared due to unforeseen circumstances, he could still do that day’s training.
He had trained early in the morning today because he thought he would be out.
It would be good to continue in the evening. There were many things to do on weekdays.
Just one thing was stuck. Helmut thought about the schedule he was now used to.
‘Maybe I should visit Kudrow Mansion tomorrow.’
He had questions about how Black Hawk had tracked him.
He had a conflict with Black Hawk, and he thought he should tell them that Black Hawk found out where he was because of this incident.
He didn’t intend to say that he had killed their personnel.
“Goodbye!”
Arriving at the dormitory, Sian, who left a cheerful voice, disappeared first, and Asuka also waved his hand and showed his back.
Helmut returned to the room with Alea.
Alea put the quill and new notebook she bought on the desk. Helmut, who was about to move to the training ground with his wooden sword, suddenly stopped.
Almost impulsively, the words came out.
“Would you like to visit the Kudrow mansion with me tomorrow?”
Transparent purple eyes stared at him sharply. The eyes quickly disappeared between narrowed eyelashes.
“You’re not going to involve those guys again, are you?”
“I only told you.”
He didn’t say that Sian might sneak in if he met him on the way out.
He also didn’t say that the probability of encountering Sian, who seemed to be watching him, was very high.
“Why me?”
“Ethan probably wants me to introduce you.”
It was a relationship that started before coming to Baden. Ethan heard a lot about Alea through Helmut through tutoring and roommates. He must have wanted to say hello at least once.
It was probably true, but it was hard to pinpoint what to say.
It seemed like that wasn’t the only reason.
But that was a subtle emotion that Helmut himself couldn’t explain.
Alea nodded a little later.
“Okay.”
Upon hearing the acceptance, Helmut left the dormitory room.
Strangely, his heart area was ticklish. If symptoms appear intermittently like this, it is difficult to see it as an illness.
“Why is this happening.”
He thought carefully and realized just now.
‘This seems to be a symptom that occurs after talking with Alea.’
But why? Thinking about the reason, Helmut drew a plausible conclusion.
There was one thing that Alea had that other guys didn’t. His special magic that captivates people.
He didn’t even know if it was affecting him. Although it is said to be more potent for women, it does not mean that it does not work for men.
‘This could be a sign.’
It was a refusal to become a follower of Alea. Helmut felt a sense of caution.
‘Is my mental strength blurred because I’ve been lazy with my training lately.’
He vowed to increase his training time a little more in the future. It was a misguided vow.
