How the Regressed Munchkin Chews Up the Tower - H.R.M.C.U.T Chapter 21 (Part 1):
About 200 of them, huh?
Red Goblins, their eyes brimming with murderous intent, surged toward Yujin.
For the sake of avenging their kin.
It could be said with certainty that no player currently on the 1st Floor of the Tower of Light could stop the Red Goblins’ rampage.
Even among the NPCs, it was likely impossible for anyone except the five lords.
But Yujin, watching the frothing, charging creatures, merely smiled.
To his eyes, they were nothing more than clumps of experience points.
Whether it was 100 or 1,000.
Red Goblins were no match for Yujin.
The black blade of 『Black Wing [A]』 flashed like a bolt of light, slicing through the air.
*Slash-!*
The goblin leading the charge was cleaved in two.
Through the gap of its bisected body, the startled eyes of other Red Goblins came into view.
A moment’s hesitation, fleeting as it was.
Yujin didn’t miss the opportunity, kicking off the ground and plunging through the corpse’s remains.
As he pierced the curtain of blood, his surroundings were instantly dyed red.
His entire body was drenched in blood.
But Yujin didn’t care.
Rather, as if refreshed, he flashed an even wider smile and extended his arm.
Toward the flustered Red Goblins.
*Papapapapapapa-!*
『Unity of Mind and Body [E]』.
His body moved at a terrifying speed, matching the accelerated pace of his thoughts.
Before the first bisected Red Goblin’s corpse could even hit the ground, 『Black Wing [A]』 had been swung dozens of times.
They were torn apart.
Five Red Goblins were dismantled into dozens of pieces, as if diced by a chef.
A rain of blood fell.
Yujin made no effort to avoid it.
Instead, as if he’d been waiting for it, he stepped forward, letting the falling flesh and blood soak him.
Ecstasy.
The emotion on Yujin’s face was unmistakably a mix of excitement and madness—pure ecstasy.
‘Come on, keep coming!’
The more they fell to the blade of 『Black Wing [A]』, the more experience points piled up exponentially.
‘This is the thrill of mob hunting!’
One or two Red Goblins weren’t much.
They weren’t monsters that gave a lot of experience points, after all.
But when it was ten, or over a hundred, that changed.
In the 1st Floor, the only way to gain this much experience in such a short time was through mob hunting.
And Red Goblins were perfectly suited for it.
Yujin bared his blood-stained teeth, swinging his sword like a madman.
Predator and prey.
It was obvious who was devouring whom without needing any analysis.
“Kieeeek!”
As nearly half of the Red Goblins were torn apart in an instant, they finally seemed to realize something was wrong.
To them, Yujin was a target who should be screaming in fear and running away.
A target who should be dismembered by their blades, paying the price for daring to touch their kind.
But the scene unfolding was completely different from their expectations.
Even from a monster’s perspective, it was an unreal sight.
Seeing their kin sliced apart so easily, they instinctively froze.
“Trying to run?”
Yujin’s eyes glinted as he caught the shift in the Red Goblins’ demeanor.
“We’re just getting started. Where do you think you’re going?”
Mana surged forth.
It wasn’t overwhelming.
Yujin’s level was only 10, after all.
Thanks to the 『Grace [C]』 on his arm, it was slightly boosted, but compared to Tailon or Cupiditas, it was still a mere fraction.
It wasn’t enough to intimidate the roughly 80 remaining Red Goblins.
And yet.
The mana swirling from Yujin was, to them, fear itself.
Not the quantity, but the will contained within it.
Realizing this, the Red Goblins turned to flee.
This was no mere human.
They had to escape right now.
Their instincts screamed as much.
“You’re not going anywhere.”
He unleashed the gathered mana.
*Kwagagagagagagaga-!*
A storm of blades began to rage.
The Red Goblins were ground up like tomatoes in a blender.
There were no screams.
It was too fast for that.
In a fleeting moment of pain, their existence was erased from the world.
■ You have triumphed in battle against the common monster Red Goblin.
■ Level Up ■ Level Up ■ Level Up
“That’s what I’m talking about!”
Yujin, now completely red, let out a cheer.
Three levels gained from a single mob hunt.
Simple math suggested that repeating this ten times could raise him 30 levels.
Of course, the higher the level, the more experience points required, so realistically, even 15 levels would be a stretch.
‘That’s plenty.’
At that point, he’d have a fighting chance even against Tailon or Cupiditas.
In other words, there was no one on the 1st Floor that Yujin couldn’t handle.
“Alright.”
Once he surpassed level 20, only one task would remain in Terra.
After resolving that, he planned to head straight to the 2nd Floor.
“Now, let’s see, where are more Red Goblins hiding?”
In the middle of a hellish scene in the grassy field, Yujin heightened his senses to scan the surroundings.
He needed to find another tribe, besides the ones he’d just slaughtered…
“Hm?”
He felt something.
Too weak to be a monster, yet carrying mana, unlike a mere beast.
That left only NPCs or players.
Yujin’s gaze turned in that direction.
He needed to see it with his own eyes to be sure.
To his surprise, he spotted figures trembling, collapsed in the grass.
Clad in shoddy gear, unable to even think of fleeing.
“Players?”
There were people out in the field at this point?
