System ID: ‘BetterLife’, real name: Kim Jung-sik.

He was fairly well-known among those who frequented the 10th-floor public zone in Korea.

Not only did he practically live there—

He had an uncanny ability to recognize hunters who had just completed the tutorial and reached the 11th floor, offering them help.

Explaining how to clear the 11th floor, how not to get swindled in the public zone—

At first, many hunters were put off by his excessive kindness, but as he gained more fame, people eventually began seeking him out on their own.

Helping others made Jung-sik happy. He was kind to his very core.

So then, just how many floors had Jung-sik cleared?

Surely up to the 20th?

Or had he climbed even higher and come back down to the 11th floor just to help beginners?

Wrong.

It was just the 11th floor.

Jung-sik had hit a wall there, stopped climbing, and decided to devote himself to helping others in the public zone instead.

At the very least, he was extremely familiar with the 11th floor and had confidence in it.

Thankfully, he’d inherited enough wealth that repeating the 11th floor provided enough income to live on and even help others a bit.

As a result, his level rose considerably—but most of his stat growth had gone into Agility and Wisdom.

Which is why he now proudly believed he could read people well!

With a philanthropic heart, Jung-sik once again roamed the public zone looking for someone who might need help.

“Hm?”

And just then, his eyes landed on someone.

“Haaaah…”

A deep sigh escaped automatically.

Truly, this was a pitiful sight!

A hunter wandered the public zone equipped with only a single assassin’s dagger on his belt and the most basic protective gear.

His presence was so faint, most people simply passed him by without noticing.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk… How on earth did someone like that make it to the 11th floor?”

When Jung-sik had first reached the 11th floor, there were a few hunters like that, but not anymore.

Now, it was standard practice to spend all your earnings up to the 10th floor on the best equipment possible.

It marked the beginning of real income, so it made sense to invest boldly.

Noting that this guy had reached the public zone, he must’ve had decent skill—but if he thought he could handle orcs like that, he was sorely mistaken.

Unable to stand by and watch any longer, Jung-sik ran toward the shabby-looking hunter.

“Hey there! Please wait a moment!”

“…Yes?”

The hunter pointed to himself in confusion, as if unsure whether he was really being addressed.

Jung-sik nodded.

“Yes, you over there! Is this your first time in the public zone?”

“Huh? How did you—”

Just as he thought, it was the guy’s first time here.

“Hooohhh!”

Jung-sik let out another dramatic sigh.

Such tragedy!

Why were there always so many unfortunate souls in the world?

If only someone like him had been around to offer advice, this hunter wouldn’t have ended up like this!

“You’ve come to the right place. My ID is ‘BetterLife’.”

With eyes moist from sympathy and compassion, Jung-sik introduced himself to the hunter.

“???”

Meanwhile, the hunter could only tilt his head at the display.

Why is this guy suddenly acting familiar?

Lee Hyun was caught off guard by the hunter who’d called out to him so abruptly.

‘BetterLife… BetterLife… I’ve heard that name somewhere before.’

“Ah.”

After thinking for a moment, Lee Hyun recalled the name.

Kim Jung-sik—a famous hunter known for helping newbies in the first public zone.

“You’ve heard of me?”

Jung-sik even popped up his ID above his head, blinking it visibly as he asked.

“Yes, sort of.”

When Lee Hyun nodded, Jung-sik looked genuinely pleased, thinking it would make things smoother.

‘He’s even more of a busybody than I heard.’

Lee Hyun couldn’t bring himself to brush the man off, so he decided to at least hear him out.

“You won’t last long on the 11th floor with that gear. You got it from a hunter supply shop, right? Honestly, those guys don’t know a thing—they just want to sell gear.”

‘I mean, they were pretty nice, though.’

Lee Hyun had picked the items himself anyway.

“There are stalls right here that sell much better gear than the supply shop. They usually take orc parts as payment, sometimes Mana Stones or items too… Wait, this isn’t the time to be talking!”

Jung-sik, suddenly realizing something, shook his head frantically.

Words alone meant nothing!

He needed to personally take him to a reputable vendor to feel satisfied.

“Let’s see… who’s around…”

Jung-sik scanned the area for a familiar vendor.

Ah, there—he spotted one in the distance.

“Let’s go! That guy’s fair with pricing and sells good quality stuff. I’ll even buy you one item myself—huh?”

But just as he tried to take Lee Hyun along—

Lee Hyun, who had been standing right there, was gone.

“Huhhh?!”

Where the hell did he go?

Jung-sik spun around looking for him, but the hunter in the ragged gear had vanished without a trace.

“He looked like an assassin… maybe he knows a stealth skill?”

Even with his high Agility and Wisdom, which normally made him excellent at tracking people, Jung-sik had lost him.

He scratched his head in frustration.

‘If he goes around like that, he’s gonna get into real trouble…’

He thought perhaps his overexcitement had come off as overwhelming, and resolved:

‘Next time, I’ll help more calmly!’

Jung-sik began planning how to assist Lee Hyun if they met again.

Just then, someone else approached.

“Um… are you BetterLife-nim by any chance?”

From the looks of it, another newbie.

“HOOOOHHHH!!!!”

So many pitiful souls!

“Come, come! To celebrate your arrival, I’ll give you a special gift—sob sob sob.”

“Thank you!”

Tears in his eyes, Jung-sik grabbed the newbie’s hand and headed toward a vendor.

With the street finally quiet again—

Shff—

Lee Hyun—now wearing his stealth cloak—moved quietly and discreetly.

‘Man, that was exhausting.’

The guy lived up to his reputation. Really something.

Still, it gave Lee Hyun some useful insight.

‘I really do need to save up and get better gear.’

While hiding and observing, he’d noticed how shady he looked.

Ironically, the gear he bought to avoid standing out had ended up making him even more conspicuous.

Not that it was a huge concern—with Lee Hyun’s skills, gathering orc drops wouldn’t take long.

What surprised him was that, while others barely sensed his presence due to his Stealth stats, Jung-sik noticed him right away.

Maybe it was all the experience he had helping newbies that made his perception so sharp?

In any case, since this was a hub for all Korean hunters on the 10th floors, there were plenty of newbies and other hunters—something like that wasn’t likely to happen again soon.

At any rate, now that he was here, it was time to enter the 11th floor.

「Would you like to enter the 11th Floor of the Korea Main Tower?」

“Yes.”

With a short answer, Lee Hyun was instantly teleported to the 11th floor.

At the same time, a small system notification popped up for everyone in the public zone:

「ID ‘One Shot’ has entered the 11th Floor.」

Usually, people ignored these notifications, but this time was different.

“Huh?”

Someone who happened to read the alert tilted their head.

A nearby party member asked:

“What is it?”

“Check the alert. See who just entered the 11th floor.”

“What? People enter all the time—wha—!”

The initial small exclamations quickly spread like wildfire.

One Shot had finally appeared in the public zone!

Ever since the 10th floor clear alert went out, people had expected One Shot would eventually show up.

Plenty had been waiting for it—and now the word spread instantly.

“I-It’s One Shot!”

“One Shot is here!”

It was rare for every person in the public zone to be talking about a single name.

The name ‘One Shot’ made even hunters about to start a raid or exit the Tower freeze mid-step.

“W-Wait, if we stay here, won’t we get to see One Shot?!”
