Hyun answered dryly.

From the official’s demeanor, it was clear they wouldn’t care if he dropped dead tomorrow.

A conversation between two people with zero expectations of each other — the public servant and the former one.

“Your registration card will be mailed to your address in a few days.”

“Yes.”

Hyun turned to leave the office.

Just then, the clerk asked as if remembering something:

“Oh, did you clear Floor 1? Need to settle your mana stones?”

“Hmm.”

Though he had cleared Floor 1, Hyun decided not to cash in the remaining three mana stones.

The One Shot announcement had just gone live. Selling now could draw unwanted attention from the Bureau or Management Office.

Besides, now that he knew mana stones could recharge his rifle, it felt like a waste to sell one for just 50,000 won.

Hyun shook his head.

“No, I haven’t entered the tower yet.”

“Alright.”

The civil servant nodded and didn’t press further.

Instead, they began typing something into the system.

Unbeknownst to Hyun, it was an automatic update to the central database.

If a Hunter doesn’t settle their mana stones, the system assumes they didn’t clear Floor 1.

After all, why else would someone hold onto them?

Even if they had cleared it, the first floor wasn’t a big deal anyway.

Normally, this part of the day would be slow and relaxed. But thanks to a recent memo, the clerk had been told to ask.

Hyun walked out with no concern.

From a different booth, he overheard another official assisting a Hunter.

“Aah~ Hunter-nim~ that’s not something we can do for you, unfortunately. But maybe if you contact the Management Office directly? Try saying this to the person in charge—should work.”

“Yes, of course, Hunter-nim! You work so hard protecting the country—we have to give you at least that much support. Oh, it’s no trouble at all~”

…There were far more kind and hardworking public servants in the world.

The next day.

“That should be enough prep for the 2nd Floor.”

Back out in the clearing, rifle in hand, Lee Hyun reviewed the data on the 2nd Floor saved to his phone.

From the 1st to 10th Floor, the environments didn’t change too drastically.

The terrain was rolling plains with scattered hills, and the enemies remained goblins.

However, the hills grew steeper, and the ratio of upper-class types—like warriors—gradually increased.

From the 2nd Floor onward, the clear condition shifted to: Eliminate all enemies.

His outfit was made up of sturdy, practical clothes from a military surplus store.

Since combat uniforms weren’t permitted, this was the most comfortable and familiar gear for sniping.

Later on, he’d probably need more serious equipment like the other Hunters.

But for now, it was enough.

Having reviewed everything again, Hyun approached the tower.

「Enter Main Tower of Korea, Floor 2?」

With that message, he was transported inside the tower.

The moment he arrived, he began crawling low and relocating.

His pre-selected sniping point was about 100 meters away.

It was a high ground spot, well-covered with grass—perfect for concealment.

‘Maybe I should get a ghillie suit next time.’

Evading goblin vision wasn’t particularly difficult, but having more precautions was always better.

He still couldn’t heavily invest in Stealth, so for now, he had to rely on his own resourcefulness.

Hyun reached the sniping point almost instantly.

As expected, the goblins below the hill were laughing and chatting amongst themselves, oblivious.

There were seven of them.

Including one Goblin Warrior and one Goblin Archer.

Hyun slowly moved his scope to find his first target.

‘Start with the archer.’

Naturally, the archer came first.

The goblins’ crude bows couldn’t hold a candle to a mana-powered sniper rifle in terms of range.

But it was best to eliminate any possible threats first—no matter how small.

Whoooosh—

A pleasant breeze brushed against Hyun.

The wind rolled down the hill and reached the goblins below.

Kehrk— Kehrk—!

The goblins were still chatting like it was just another day.

But among them, the sharp-nosed archer suddenly twitched and began sniffing.

Carried on the wind was a scent.

The smell of prey.

The scent of a human.

Kekekek—!

The Goblin Archer started waving its bow wildly and shouted.

An alert—enemy on the hill! Attack!

The Goblin Warrior and others looked up the hill.

They couldn’t see anything with their eyes, but their noses confirmed it.

There was someone up there.

KEHH—!

The Goblin Warrior raised a battle cry to signal the charge—

—or at least, it tried to.

But it never finished.

TA-AAANG——!!!

An earth-shattering boom like nothing the goblins had ever heard.

To them, it could only be interpreted as a powerful spell.

In the same instant that sound rang out—

BOOM—!

The Goblin Archer’s upper body exploded, as if it had never existed.

The only evidence left behind was a column of blood erupting where it once stood.

What… was that?

Was this truly a human’s attack?

An invisible human had killed their comrade with an invisible attack.

Perhaps that human atop the hill wasn’t prey at all—

TA-AAANG——!!

The Goblin Warrior never finished its thought.

‘…Solid hit.’

Hyun fired in succession, taking out the elite units first.

And inwardly, he was impressed.

The ten attribute points he’d invested after leveling were paying off.

Stealth reduced the sound of his shots.

Accuracy and Stability were clearly helping by his own standards.

Even minor breezes could now be ignored.

‘At this rate, I might not be able to use another rifle again.’

Not that he had any plans to, now that he was discharged.

Hyun continued pulling the trigger, just like on the 1st Floor.

Leaderless and confused, the goblins were easy prey.

One pull of the trigger.

One deafening boom.

One confirmed kill.

Repeat.

「All enemies eliminated.
You have cleared Floor 2.
Grade: S+」

「Item: ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has leveled up.
Please check your status window.」

Right after the clear message came the level-up alert.

「Would you like to exit Floor 2?」

As always, Hyun confirmed all enemy deaths with his own eyes and nodded.

‘That’ll do.’

From there, the next two days for Lee Hyun could be summarized as follows:

「All enemies eliminated.
You have cleared Floor 3.
Grade: S+」

「Item: ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has leveled up.
Please check your status window.」

「All enemies eliminated.
You have cleared Floor 4.
Grade: S+」

「Item: ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has leveled up.
Please check your status window.」

He stormed through to Floor 4, earning S+ on all of them.

But the 4th Floor clear came with something different.

「Item: ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has reached Level 5.
Please select a skill.」

Hyun grinned as he looked at the three skills displayed in front of him.

‘Obviously this one.’

The choice wasn’t difficult.

Meanwhile, by the time Hyun had broken through the 4th Floor…

The outside world could be summarized even more simply:

[ID ‘One Shot’ marches to S+ on Floor 4! Identity STILL unknown!]
