Deokhun’s credibility took a hit in Hyun’s eyes.

Hyun now figured it was time to shake this guy off.

“Alright, got it. Then I’ll be going—”

“Sometimes you can even get mana stones off corpses from repeat runs! Especially Goblin skulls—they’re the latest material trend. Among insiders, they sell really well! Just for you, hyung-nim, I’ll even add 10% to the purchase price!”

“Sure, I’ll think about it and get back to you.”

Hyun managed to shake off the persistent Deokhun.

He didn’t follow Hyun out of the management office, but he did shout after him:

“Hyung-nim, I sense an aura from you! You’ve got the smell of big success! Great physique too—you’re gonna climb real high! Fighting, hyung-nim!”

Everything else aside—that damn “hyung-nim”…

Hyun nearly pulled his rifle out of his inventory on instinct.

Sharp-eyed yet shady—Deokhun gave off con artist vibes.

Back home, Hyun logged onto Hunternow.

He searched for info on repeating Floor 4 and goblin byproducts.

“Hmm…”

Plenty of posts and guides came up.

Still, Deokhun had been more specific than this basic stuff.

For example, setting a target stat total or saying that mana stones could drop—these were things not commonly mentioned.

There was absolutely nothing about goblin skulls either.

‘Just who is that guy…’

Oddly enough, the prices in the catalog were also slightly higher than online estimates.

A full goblin skeleton—excluding the skull—went for 50,000 won.

The skull alone was 30,000 won.

Since intact byproducts could be harvested automatically via the system, it wasn’t a bad price.

Plus, Deokhun had promised a 10% bonus for Hyun, so maybe the guy did have some pull.

Still, Hyun tossed the business card carelessly into his desk drawer.

Why?

Bang——!

「All enemies eliminated.
You have cleared the 7th Floor.
Grade: S+」

Hyun was Il-One Shot, who hadn’t hit a wall at Floor 5, but rather smashed through to Floor 7 with continuous S+ clears!

‘Easy, but still…’

The 7th Floor had Goblin Warriors mixed with archers, and their gear was noticeably better.

But so what?

They all died without even seeing him.

Hyun checked the goblins just in case.

No mana stone drops.

No intact bones or skulls either.

Naturally—

“They’re all getting blown to bits. What a waste.”

When his rifle fired, the entire upper body was destroyed—leaving no intact skeleton.

He had no intention of manually gathering bone scraps from each corpse—that was gross and way too much work.

For now, he’d live off his severance pay.

Turning his attention away from the mess, Hyun looked at the rewards for clearing the 7th Floor.

「Item ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has leveled up.
Check your status window.」

His sniper rifle was now Level 8.

He distributed 3 points to Range and Rapid Fire, and 2 to Precision and Stealth.

Remaining stat points: 20.

‘From now on, I can probably use the full 15 per level.’

He had saved up enough.

「7th Floor Reward:
You’ve obtained 6 F-rank mana stones.
Check your inventory.」

“Still no E-ranks yet, huh.”

It was a bit disappointing that he couldn’t raise his mana yet, but with his current pace, 31 would be enough for the time being.

Counting his two tiny but precious sidearms, he could fire a total of 33 shots.

「S+ Grade Clear Bonus:
You’ve received a slightly special goblin bone.」

“Huh?”

What’s this now?

“Could’ve just given me more stones…”

Hyun was a bit disappointed.

Compared to the usual S+ bonus, a goblin bone had a much lower market value.

30,000 won vs. under 100,000 won!

Even if it was “slightly special,” he doubted it’d fetch more than an extra 10,000 won from Deokhun.

“Tch, guess I got unlucky this time.”

As Hyun took out the bone and examined it, then tried to put it back into inventory—

BZZZ—

His rifle started vibrating.

“…?”

He felt like this had happened once before.

Just to be sure, he brought the bone close to the mana intake port.

…

Nothing happened.

“Hahaha! Of course not. What’s it gonna do, eat bones like a dog?”

Hyun laughed, smacking his own forehead.

“……”

But then, on a whim, he touched the bone to the barrel instead.

Ssssslurp—

“!!!”

To his astonishment, the goblin bone dissolved and was absorbed into the barrel!

“W-We’re doing this!”

Hyun dumped all the remaining bones into the rifle.

Sssslurp—

Every last piece was absorbed.

Once a full goblin’s worth of bone had been taken in—

「Item ‘Choi Hyun’s Sniper Rifle’ has absorbed a slightly special goblin bone.
You have acquired the exclusive skill: 『Poison Round』.
Function 『Magazine』 has been unlocked.」

A system message appeared.

“H-Holy crap…”

Hyun was too moved to speak.

Humans just digest food and poop it out.

But this mana stone rifle—it gave you new skills and stats with every bite. How could he not adore it?

He first checked the Poison Round skill.

Exclusive skills were different from the normal ones given every 5 floors.

They had no rank and thus couldn’t be upgraded.

But they did scale with the user’s stats, so the more, the better.

「Exclusive Skill: 『Poison Round』
Fires a round that emits a poisonous smoke upon impact.
No damage to the user.
Damage scales with Firepower and Stealth.
Consumes double the mana of a regular shot.」

“This is…”

Tears welled up in Hyun’s eyes.

Another broken skill.

He’d been a little disappointed not to get an offensive ability as his first skill—but poisonous smoke? Absolutely excellent.

No harm to the user.

Perfect for both offense and survival.

Double mana consumption?

His mana would keep rising anyway—spending it wasn’t an issue.

Back during missions, even tossing one smoke grenade would set off the quartermaster over budget issues—Hyun had been terrified.

But now, he’d never have to worry about that again.

With high hopes, he opened the newly unlocked Magazine feature.

What kind of overpowered mechanic would this one be…?

「Magazine
Currently empty.」

“…Hmm. Well, yeah. Of course it’s empty. That makes sense.”

There was no description, just a message that it was empty.

Apparently, it wasn’t where exclusive skills like Poison Round were displayed.

Still, Hyun wasn’t disappointed.

If a feature existed, it had a purpose.

“They’re not telling me to load NATO rounds or something, right…”

Just thinking about how it might work in the future made his heart race.

And somehow, he felt—the day he’d learn how to use the magazine wasn’t far off.
