Terrestrial Savior Archetype - T.S.A Chapter 15 (part 2): Lucky Strike (3)
The Chief of the Visa Enforcement Division and his subordinates cautiously entered.
Then, they spotted Jeong-woo and Sun-woong and halted in their tracks.
In their eyes, Sun-woong, another “Predator,” was the center of attention once again.
“Huh…?”
One of the officers who had aimed his gun at Min-gu earlier let out a frightened voice.
This time, not even Kim Jin-seong could control himself.
“Well… Is this your father?”
As the officer pointed at Sun-woong, Min-gu shook his head.
“No, he’s my son’s colleague—”
But he couldn’t finish his sentence.
Meanwhile, two officers who were inspecting the kitchen discovered the stockpile of canned goods.
“There are supplies here…!”
While one hurriedly reported back, the other officer raised the gun he had in his hand.
The target was the predator, Park Min-gu.
And then, at that moment, Jeong-woo realized why his father had knocked the cans to the floor.
Swoosh!
Min-gu’s left arm swiped the air, and from his fingertips, a bluish thread-like substance spurted out.
Though there was only one strand, Jeong-woo could sense how formidable that “weapon” was.
The area of effect covered 180 degrees from the spellcaster.
Starting from the entrance, it swept across the living room, reaching nearly half of the kitchen.
Jeong-woo witnessed everything the “thread” passed through.
Books, television, mirrors, fridge, shelves… even the walls of the house.
Thud, thud, crash!
The television and mirror that were sliced horizontally thumped onto the ground.
Crash, clang!
“Unbelievable…”
Watching the scene, Sun-woong staggered backward and fell.
Except for Chief Kim Jin-seong, all the members of the self-defense group had a horizontal line drawn on them by the thread.
Due to individual height differences, the position of the line varied slightly, but generally, it was somewhere between their chests and clavicles.
“Uh…”
One of the hit men made an indistinct sound and then slid sideways, with only the upper part of his body affected.
It was like a clean body-cutting magic.
It seems like the difference depended on the development of fat and muscles.
Then, there was only one person left—Kim Jin-seong.
The reason he hadn’t fallen within Min-gu’s attack range was solely because Min-gu wanted to spare him.
If he had adjusted the starting point of the attack a little more to the side, he could have sliced through the entire self-defense group.
“…”
Kim Jin-seong neither screamed nor whimpered as if following orders from someone else.
He just stood there with his mouth and eyes wide open.
Seeing this, Min-gu took out a gun from his waist.
Next, he nonchalantly patted the holster and shirt pockets.
He was looking for extra bullets.
“How many self-defense members are still here in this neighborhood, including the police?”
At Min-gu’s question, Kim Jin-seong’s lips trembled.
His tongue was too stiff to pronounce words properly.
“Thi… Thi… Thirty… members… sir….”
After contorting his facial muscles, he managed to complete four syllables.
After hearing the answer, Min-gu lightly patted Kim Jin-seong’s shoulder as if to say that it was enough.
“Alright. Thirty members, all good people, right? I will spare all thirty, including you, Chief. But don’t come back here anymore. I’m leaving this place soon anyway.”
When Min-gu added that questioningly, Jin-seong nodded his head compulsively.
Park Min-gu. This man with almost white hair then turned his gaze to his son, Park Jeong-woo.
“You two, pack up and leave now. You don’t want to live complicated lives anymore, do you? Live as best as you can and die in the best way you can.”
“…”
Facing his father’s stern gaze, Jeong-woo silently picked up the guns and backpack.
Jeong-woo and Sun-woong stepped out of the Howon Villa, and the sun was at its zenith.
The scorching sunlight was so intense that it made their faces contort.
“Are you really okay? Your father, all by himself…”
Sun-woong murmured with a soft voice while looking at Jeong-woo’s back.
To be honest, it was just empty words.
By now, his father was much scarier than Jeong-woo.
But he felt like he had to say something.
After all, didn’t he witness his only “comrade” in this world parting with his father?
Although both of them didn’t seem to have any sentimental feelings, Sun-woong still felt like he should express his condolences in some way.
“I saw that he was fine, so it’s okay. Besides, in a world like this, it’s not easy for us to show each other in a good light.”
“…”
Sun-woong had nothing more to add to Jeong-woo’s response.
By the way, didn’t he reveal himself as the savior earlier?
Sun-woong wanted to inquire further about that statement, but he thought it wasn’t the right time.
So, he threw another question.
“So, where are you going now? To be honest, no matter where you go, the situation will likely be the same.”
Then, Jeong-woo pointed to a distant alley.
There, the shadows were dense. Something was quickly passing by, faintly visible in the darkness.
“Are those cats?”
Sun-woong narrowed his eyes and focused his vision.
A long tail shooting up into the sky. Eyes shining brightly in the darkness.
He was correct. They were indeed cats.
But they weren’t just a couple.
There seemed to be dozens, no, hundreds of them.
Moving like a marching unit. Four columns, heading towards somewhere at a rapid pace.
“The cats’ destination was really this neighborhood. Even if we don’t know the reason, there must be something more important than gathering clean water.”
