It had been a month since I left the County.
I’d expected the medicine to be finished by now.

‘Maybe it’s taken longer to commission the Langrid Magic Tower than I thought.’

Even though I offered a reward of one million gold.

“Still, Sir Kai sent word that it should be ready soon.”

That commission fee alone was a staggering million gold.
Even the Langrid Magic Tower couldn’t refuse that amount.

“And Kai?”
“He’s in Frecce.”

No wonder Bernard was manning the wall.

‘So he’s been waiting for Kai.’

That seemed to be the case.

“I’ll go to Frecce myself.”
“Right now, sir?”
“Yes.”
“But you’ve only just returned…”

“Seriously.”
After going through all that hell just to return to the County, heading right back out again felt absurd.

“Since Sir Kai is in Frecce, he’ll come the moment the antidote is complete.”

That was true—but it wasn’t just about the antidote.

‘I wonder if they’ve managed to contact the Archmage.’

When I submitted the request to the Langrid Magic Tower, I had also instructed Adelon to make contact with the Archmage of the Allied Forces.

Improving my understanding of Infinite absolutely required the Archmage’s help.

So I needed to check the progress on that, and—

‘I also need supplies to train the Visters.’

Food, clothing, gear, and everything else they’d need.
If I wanted to purchase all that, I had no choice but to go to Frecce.

There were thousands of them. The total cost would be enormous.

‘Good thing I’ve got the black market funds to back me up.’

I had an astronomical sum—90 million gold—in my inventory.
I pointed toward the crowd of Visters waiting in the distance.

“Bernard, do you see those people gathered over there?”
“I was just about to ask. Who are they?”
“New recruits.”
“…Excuse me?”
“It’s complicated to explain. Just accept that for now.”

When would I even get the chance to explain everything that happened in Baoless?

“Anyway. I’m heading to Frecce now, Bernard.”
“…Yes, go ahead.”
“Find a decent place in the County for those guys to stay, make sure they’re well-fed and housed until I return.”
“…Understood.”
“And if they cause trouble while I’m gone, just kill them.”
“…Pardon?”

Bernard blinked, clearly dumbfounded.
It looked like he hadn’t fully processed what I meant.

Still, my father trusted him enough to keep him as Chief Steward—he was capable.

“Alright, I’m off.”

I sped out of the County at top speed.

It had been almost a month since I last came to Frecce.
And as expected, not much had changed.

‘Looks like they’re selling the monster meat just fine.’

Even without me, the merchant group had been operating smoothly, moving between the County and Frecce to supply monster meat.

There was a reason rumors of it had reached even Isolde’s ears.

‘It’s about time I expand Predator Merchant Group, too.’

With the establishment of the Frecce branch, it was also time to look for new products.
If we wanted to become the continent’s top merchant guild, monster meat alone wouldn’t cut it.

‘Kraulgarr’s still waiting on my to-do list.’

Even ten bodies wouldn’t be enough to manage it all.
But for now, Serapia’s antidote and the Allied Archmage took priority.

Just as I was heading to Adelon’s shop—

“This can’t be a coincidence.”

Someone stepped in front of me.
And with how wide a city Frecce was, it was too much to chalk it up to coincidence.

‘They picked up on my presence?’

Seemed like it.
Though I wasn’t sure how that was even possible in such a large city—

“What is it?”

If it was Kai… well, with him, it might be possible.

“What is what?”
“Baoless.”

The rumor must’ve reached Frecce already.
Merchants are always the quickest to catch wind of such things.

“What about Baoless?”
“Wasn’t it you, Sir Adrian?”
“Me? What about me?”
“The one who wiped out Baoless.”
“I heard it was the Saintess of the Holy Kingdom who did that.”
“That’s what the rumors say…”

Kai’s gaze took on a meaningful glint.

“And I’m supposed to believe that?”

Well, Kai did know I had gone to Baoless.
And conveniently, right around when I arrived… Baoless disappeared.
Too much of a coincidence to dismiss, right?

Honestly, I had no reason to hide it from him.

“Yeah, I did it.”

I said it outright, but—

“And I’m supposed to believe that?”

Apparently, he still didn’t believe it.

“Then what do you want from me?”
“You expect me to believe that you wiped out Baoless all by yourself?”
“I didn’t do it alone. The Saintess from the Holy Kingdom helped—”
“And I’m supposed to believe that?”

“What answer do you want, Kai?”
“What really happened there?”
“Exactly what the rumors say.”
“And I’m supposed to believe that?”
“Then don’t. I don’t care.”

I quickened my pace to walk past him—
But Kai fell into step beside me.

“You’re really not going to tell me?”

…Seriously, this guy was like a golden leech.

“I told you already.”
“And I’m supposed to believe the rumors?”
“Then don’t. Just don’t believe anything.”

I picked up my pace even more—
And yet, Kai still kept up.

“How do you even know the Saintess of the Holy Kingdom?”

“We met by chance.”
“And I’m supposed to believe that?”
“Then don’t.”

I activated Metabolic Overdrive [U] and practically started sprinting.

It wasn’t just fast walking anymore—it was borderline a run.
And yet—

“That just doesn’t make sense to me.”

Kai kept up without issue.
It was clear now—he had fully stepped into the realm of a Master.

Which made it even more ridiculous.

He’d reached the level of a Master through Aura, and he was still talking about “common sense”?
Your Undying Reliance [E] skill is the farthest thing from common sense, you lunatic.

“Then stop thinking about sense and start using your imagination!”

I gritted my teeth and pushed even faster—
And Kai desperately chased after me.

Whoosh! Whap!

It turned into a bizarre footrace of constant back-and-forth.

Looked like I’d have to use Accelerated Heartbeat [E] to shake him off.
But that required activating Berserk [?] first—
And I didn’t have enough Sanity to use it right now.

“You want me to just imagine what kind of relationship you have with the Saintess?”

…No matter what I did, I couldn’t shake off this golden leech.

In a lab filled with all sorts of medicinal herbs…

A lone woman sat at the alchemy workstation, deeply focused on something.

Her hands moved between a silver beaker and a small glass vial.
The movements looked frantic, but they were soft, delicate, and precise.

She handled each ingredient with skill, maintaining the fragile balance of the formula.

“This is the last step…!”

Her blue eyes shone with resolve.
She couldn’t afford even a single mistake.

Just as she carefully reached for the dropper to add the final few drops—

“ILIANA!! You still haven’t finished the antidote?!”

The lab door burst open as someone yelled—
“Eep?!?!!”

Startled out of her concentration, the woman—Iliana—leapt up in shock.
