0.0000001% Demon King - 0DK Chapter 32: The Choice (1) (Part 1)
“…This doesn’t make sense.”
Even the rough-looking man had nothing to say about it, so he mumbled quietly. The slim man, riding the momentum, passionately argued.
“Moreover, that village is affiliated with the Sun God Order. The people bending their backs to offer tribute, already protected by the Sun God, why would they give us as many as twenty?”
“Maybe they discovered a gold mine.”
“Ah, Brother. Seriously.”
The slim man gritted his teeth. He started mercenary work with the brother he had trusted and followed since childhood, but it seemed more and more like a mistake.
“It’s really a matter of life and death, you know? Cough! Cough!”
“Chill out. I know that much! This time it’s really okay.”
The rough-looking man fiddled with a gold coin.
“We received an advance payment this time. Even if those rats try to attack us or stab us in the back, we can run away anytime. Don’t you trust me?”
“…I do trust you, but.”
The slim man spoke with a reluctant face. Indeed, his brother was foolish, but there was a reason he had survived until now. That was also why he hadn’t adamantly refused the first request they received.
“But it’s still unsettling. It feels dirty.”
“Forget it. Don’t worry. Do you think I’d let you guys die? I’d die first.”
“That’s even more problematic…….”
The slim man sighed deeply, as if giving up. At that moment, the door opened.
“Brother!”
“What?”
“They’re here!”
“Ah. Finally?”
The rough-looking man’s eyes shone.
“Great! It’s time to work! Let’s go, brother!”
“Yes, yes. Got it.”
The slim man followed the rough-looking man, grumbling. The rough-looking man pulled out an axe.
“Is it them?”
“Yes.”
“Ho, ho.”
The rough-looking man let out a sigh of admiration.
“…She’s beautiful.”
The woman in golden armor was more beautiful than any woman he had seen before. Her golden hair swayed softly, like waves of gold.
The man behind her wasn’t any less good looking. Even his somewhat absent-minded face seemed charming. The rough-looking man swallowed.
“Brother, don’t you want her as your sister-in-law?”
“Focus on the task at hand instead of making advances.”
“Damn. Got it.”
The rough-looking man stepped forward. The frivolous chatter until now changed completely, his aura piercing through like a blade.
He was a mercenary. The mission was to drive away those who came to this place.
Firmly gripping the axe, the rough-looking man set out to execute his task.

“Hmm.”
Karos looked at the approaching man and muttered with a disgusted face.
“What’s with those muscles?”
The man was at least two heads taller than Karos, and his body was twice as large. Behind him, a man with a delicate appearance watched them.
“He’s quite a character.”
“…Vain.”
Sinclaire opened her mouth with a stern face.
“You will… have to take responsibility for your words.”
“Don’t worry. If I’m wrong, I’ll apologize to everyone in the village. If you want, I can even kill myself.”
“No, that’s not necessary…”
Karos’ calmness made Sinclaire even more flustered.
“Anyway, there’s no loss in trying what I say.”
“Alright.”
“Hey, you two.”
The rough-looking man pointed his axe at Karos and Sinclaire with sharp eyes.
“I don’t know what you’re here for, but leave. This is our territory…”
Before the rough-looking man could finish his sentence, Sinclaire lunged forward. Without wielding any weapon, she charged at the man with her bare body. The man’s face stiffened as he swiftly pushed his arm down.
Crack!
The axe swung down, hitting Sinclaire’s wrist guard, making a loud noise. The man’s pupils dilated. Without a scratch on the wrist guard, the axe slid off and plunged into the ground.
“Stay down.”
Sinclaire moved her fist. The man bit his teeth and let go of the axe.
Boom!
“Ugh!”
With a rough sound, the man was pushed back. Though he staggered like a reed in the wind, he did not fall.
“Oh.”
Karos admired it.
“It’s not likely they would use a mid-level mercenary, so it must be a low-level or very low-level one. Impressive.”
Even if it was a casual encounter, to withstand a strike from the slayer of the Demon King. Something even a decent knight couldn’t do.
On the other side, a similar astonishment occurred. The slim man screamed.
“Brother!”
His Brother was stronger than anyone in terms of sheer strength. Even high-level mercenaries couldn’t casually confront him based on strength alone.
But his decision-making ability kept him at the very low rank and made people lament that even the gods were fair.
Yet, he was overtaken by such a girl. Moreover, he staggered as if he was about to fall from a single hit.
“This can’t be happening.”
The slim man mumbled dumbly amidst the nightmare. However, the fight continued.
“Eek!”
The rough-looking man endured the pain and moved his hand. Sinclaire slightly smiled at the punch coming with a speed unfitting for his size.
Gracefully dodging the punch, she approached closer. The man tried to headbutt her, moving his head down as she got close. Then, Sinclaire stepped even closer and placed her hand on the man’s stomach.
Boom!
“Ugh!”
The man fell from the second attack. Karos whistled.
“Neat.”
“Brother!”
The slim man hurriedly gestured to the back.
“Arm yourselves! Save Brother!”
“Yes!”
Twenty mercenaries simultaneously drew their swords. Seeing this, Karos signaled Sinclaire with his eyes. She understood the gesture and drew her sword.
“Everyone! Hold…”
Shing!
A golden light spread in all directions from the sword. The charging mercenaries instantly stopped.
“That light…”
The slim man’s eyes wavered. Even if they were uneducated mercenaries, they had received some education on religion.
Pure golden light. And the golden armor, golden hair.
The mercenaries unanimously sheathed their swords.
