0.0000001% Demon King - 0DK Chapter 44: The Third Box (3) (Part 2)
“What?”
“That’s what it says.”
Karos handed the paper to them. Bathesia frowned after reading it.
“What is this?”
“I don’t know either.”
A voucher to receive a hug from any passing demon. That’s all it said. Karos waved the paper around.
“What am I supposed to do with this? I don’t even know how to use it. Lillis, how do I…”
Just as Karos was about to ask Lillis how to use it, the paper glowed.
“…Hmm?”
When the light went out, the paper had disappeared. Karos spoke with a bewildered face.
“Why did it disappear on its own?”
“Um, Demon King?”
“What?”
“My body is moving on its own.”
“…What?”
Lillis, with a stiff face, was slowly approaching Karos.
“No way.”
Karos murmured as if it were impossible, but Lillis was already standing right in front of him. She raised her arms.
“Wait…”
Just as Karos tried to back away, Lillis’s arms wrapped around him. A soft sensation spread across his body. Her black hair tickled his nose.
“Wait a minute!”
“What are you doing! Sis! Let go!”
“Oh, ho.”
Karos was dumbfounded, standing still. After about three seconds, Lillis stepped back.
“What is this.”
She muttered blankly.
“Sis! What are you doing! This isn’t right!”
Soccu cried as she ran towards Lillis. But Lillis had a face that said she didn’t understand either.
“I just… my body moved on its own.”
“That… such a thing.”
“Calm down. I get it.”
Karos calmed himself and frowned.
“…So that’s what this is. This crazy Great Demon King.”
“This doesn’t seem right.”
Bathesia also had a troubled face. Sinclair, not understanding the situation yet, tilted her head.
“What happened? Did she go into heat?”
“Can you phrase it a bit more delicately?”
“Unfortunately, I didn’t receive sex education. Why did she suddenly hug you?”
“It must be because of this.”
Karos pointed to the wooden box.
“By calling her name, it’s like giving permission.”
“Ah, I see.”
Sinclair realized.
“A command authority?”
“Probably.”
Karos frowned.
“This doesn’t seem right.”
Looking at Lillis, it was a forced command authority that proceeded regardless of her will. It was something the Great Demon King’s power could achieve, but it was overstepping bounds.
“Disregarding personal will… What is he thinking?”
“I don’t know. I really don’t understand your ability.”
Bathesia also had a frustrated face. There had been Demon Kings with brainwashing abilities, but they were all limited to humans and didn’t have coercive power over demons.
In a way, Karos was the first in Demon King’s history to gain coercive power over demons.
“Can we use this?”
“As a Demon King, there are plenty of demons who would obey without needing command authority. Is there a need to use it?”
“That’s the problem. By the way, Lillis, why are you acting like this?”
Lillis stood still with a blank expression. At Karos’s question, Lillis lowered her head.
“I’m sorry…”
“What are you sorry for?”
Karos asked, bewildered by the sudden apology. Lillis spoke with her head down.
“I’m sorry that my lowly body touched you, my King.”
“Are you the one who threw me with such vigor before?”
“But still…”
Lillis bit her lip.
“My lowly self…”
“Oh, come on.”
Karos clicked his tongue, exasperated.
“Don’t say any more.”
She closed her mouth at his calm words.
“Lillis, you’re my secretary. I’ve never thought of you as lowly, and I never will, so stop saying such things. It’s annoying.”
“…Understood.”
Lillis quietly stepped back. Karos pressed his temples.
“I thought she was the only sane one.”
Lillis seemed fine on the surface, but she was also twisted in some way.
“Well, if she were normal, she wouldn’t be my secretary.”
“At least you’re self-aware.”
“I’m objective. We’ll talk about this later.”
Fixing twisted minds wasn’t something that could be done quickly. It needed to be addressed gradually, but there was no time for that now.
“For now… I have to open them.”
Karos reluctantly put his hand on the box.
**** ****
They decided to open them all at once without checking each one individually. He didn’t want to get upset by worrying over each one.
And the result was.
A voucher to receive the least valuable thing a passing demon has.
A voucher to have a passing demon buy you a meal.
A voucher for a massage from a passing demon.
A voucher to tickle a passing demon.
A voucher to throw a birthday party for a passing demon.
A voucher to make a passing demon confess their most embarrassing moment.
A voucher to ask a passing demon to renovate your house.
“Karos.”
Bathesia stepped back. Lillis did the same.
“If you use the sixth one, I’ll kill you.”
“I won’t use it even if you tell me to, so don’t worry.”
“That’s still upsetting…”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Demon King! You can use it on me!”
Soccu smiled brightly and hugged Karos.
“Get off, you idiot.”
Karos pushed her away and laid out the seven pieces of paper.
“The content has always been like this. It says ‘passing demon,’ but are there any limits to the targets?”
“I don’t know. But if it’s from the Great Demon King, there probably aren’t any restrictions.”
“An absolute command authority that applies to any demon, from the lowest to the lords.”
It sounded like an ultimate command authority, but the content was all trivial.
“I don’t know if it’s useful or not. You hold onto them. Just calling a name can activate them, so it’s scary to keep them.”
“Understood. Will you use the remaining one?”
“It’s situational.”
Karos handed the six vouchers to Lillis and shook the remaining one.
A voucher to ask a passing demon to renovate your house.
“Whether it was intended or not, this one is quite useful. If it’s useful, I should use it.”
