Embracing Magic - E.M Chapter 128 (Part 1)
Rodin didn’t say a word. He merely shifted his shoulders slightly.
Thwack!
“Gah!”
Elder Kendrick was flung to the ground after being struck by something. The attack happened so abruptly that he couldn’t regain his composure.
Meanwhile, Karis and Jena rescued Larry and Bianca, moving them to the carriage where Matthew had been imprisoned.
Clang!
Jena gripped the metal restraints binding Matthew’s limbs with both hands and tore them apart effortlessly.
“Larry, Bianca.”
As Matthew tried to approach, Jena stopped him.
Touching Larry and Bianca rashly now could be dangerous. Their bones were too broken, and a wrong move could leave them crippled.
“Karis, hold them.”
“Got it.”
Karis carefully laid Larry down and opened his mouth.
Jena poured the potion Rodin had given her into Larry’s mouth. She then administered the potion to Bianca in the same manner.
“Whew, this is bad.”
“Let me take a look.”
Rodin had approached them at some point. Elder Kendrick dangled in mid-air, caught by something and unable to move.
The mages of the Cedria Tower tried to rescue him, but their efforts were futile. The more they tried to intervene, the higher Kendrick was lifted into the air.
This was Rodin’s doing.
“You wretch! Release me at once!”
“Oh, what’s this commotion about?”
At that moment, another figure entered the scene—a man who appeared to be over seventy years old.
“Could it be… Landes Tower?”
Suspended in mid-air, Elder Kendrick immediately recognized the distinctive blue robes of the Landes Tower.
The reason he had come here in the first place was due to orders from the Landes Tower. Not recognizing their robes would have been absurd.
“Hmm, you’re wearing the robes of Cedria Tower. Who might you be?”
“I-I am Elder Kendrick. P-please, help me! Those villains ambushed me…”
“Hmm.”
Francis, the Tower Master, couldn’t discern the full situation just by what he saw.
All he knew was that someone who had just reached the 7th Circle had come flying here like a madman and used magic to subdue an elder of Cedria Tower.
Francis’s gaze shifted to the three individuals, including Rodin.
A woman who appeared to be a swordsman stood between the newly ascended mage and him. She had the classic appearance of a bodyguard.
Elder Kendrick started, “Tower Master…”
“So, you recognize me?”
“I… once saw you from a distance… Tower Master, please, release me first.”
Elder Kendrick had tried everything to break free from the magic binding his body. He had even attempted using Fly magic and manipulating his mana to disrupt the restraints.
None of it worked. It was as if the restraints had neutralized his power.
“I have a question for you.”
“Please… ask. But first… release me.”
“How did you end up fighting an Archmage?”
“A-An Archmage?”
Elder Kendrick couldn’t immediately understand Francis’s words.
An Archmage referred to either a 7th Circle mage or a Master-level swordsman. Among those present, only Francis fit that description.
“Didn’t you know?”
“D-did I offend you in some way, Tower Master?”
“You still don’t get it. I’m not the one. That mage over there is the Archmage—a 7th Circle Grand Mage.”
“What? That’s impossible—gah!”
Elder Kendrick’s face, red from exertion, turned pale in an instant. His pupils darted between Francis and Rodin, trembling wildly.
It wasn’t just Kendrick who was shocked. The mages from Cedria Tower, who had been keeping a low profile under Francis’s watchful eyes, were paralyzed by the revelation.
Meanwhile, Rodin focused all his efforts on healing Larry and Bianca.
“Hah.”
Their injuries were severe. Even with 6th Circle healing magic, a full recovery was nearly impossible.
I need to create 7th Circle healing magic.
He mentally reviewed all the runes he knew. He recalled combinations he had learned during the Frouval’s lessons and began crafting a spell.
“Parabit Hasto Rabifao…”
Rodin used the runes and combinations he knew to create a healing spell.
Although he was familiar with the runes, he had never spoken some of them aloud before. The unfamiliar pronunciations caused the casting to take longer.
“…Pure healing energy. Absolute Recovery!”
The spell was complete. A bright white light emerged from his fingertips and seeped into Larry’s body.
Crack! Snap!
The broken bones returned to their original positions. Torn flesh healed, and severed tendons reconnected.
The potion Jena had administered amplified the effect of the Absolute Recovery spell. The two forces worked in synergy, quickly restoring Larry to normal.
“Phew.”
Only one person had been healed. Two more still required treatment.
Bianca’s injuries, though less severe than Larry’s, were still significant. Matthew also bore signs of extensive beating.
Fortunately, Rodin still had ample mana. Despite crafting an unfamiliar spell with a new combination of runes, he had used less than 5% of his mana.
“Parabit Hasto… Absolute Recovery.”
He began chanting the runes again. This time, the spell completed more quickly. The 7th Circle Absolute Recovery spell healed Bianca as well.
“Recovery.”
“Thank you, sir.”
After healing Bianca, Rodin only used 5th Circle Recovery magic on Matthew.
Matthew’s injuries weren’t as severe as Larry’s or Bianca’s. The potion alone would have restored him within a short time.
With the addition of 5th Circle healing magic, Matthew’s wounds vanished almost instantly.
“Phew. That damned old man.”
Rodin turned sharply, glaring at Elder Kendrick. His eyes radiated killing intent.
Having just learned that Rodin was an Archmage, Elder Kendrick couldn’t meet his gaze. He cowered and desperately avoided eye contact.
“Cedria Tower… I’ll kill every one of you—”
“Don’t do that.”
Francis interrupted Rodin mid-sentence.
Rodin shot a sharp glare at Francis, clearly displeased.
If Francis continued to interfere, Rodin was prepared to fight him. If it came to it, he was even willing to take on the entire Landes Tower.
“Your reason better be good. I’m incredibly angry right now.”
“Let’s leave right and wrong for later. We can also delay figuring out the full story. I’m stopping you not for Kendrick’s sake but for your own character and future.”
Rodin calmed himself for now.
