Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 131( Part 2):
The crystal ball was humming and making a loud noise.
―Group 9, respond. Where are you now? Is everyone safe at the camp?
Asuka muttered, “Patricia… Instructor?”
―Yes, soldier. I’m checking the current situation of each group. Is everything alright? Is everyone healthy?
Voices were heard from the side. Professor Dwayne and Instructor Alan must be with her too.
‘Such an unexpected variable.’
Fasho’s eyes widened. He knew the instructors had distributed crystal balls to each group.
After meeting with Helmut, he had scoured the campsite, but the crystal ball hadn’t surfaced. He had been eavesdropping on all the conversations at the campsite.
He had been watching to destroy the crystal ball with an arrow if they tried to use it for help, and he had even heard them saying the crystal ball was missing.
Since then, he had completely pushed it to the back of his mind. A major oversight for someone as thorough as him.
‘The pocket must have torn and it slipped inside.’
Asuka realized. He had been wearing the coat all this time, only taking it off to sleep, thinking it would protect him from a blade to some extent. And now, it had become such a significant help!
Asuka shouted at the top of his lungs.
“Instructor! Save us! There’s a really strong and perverted guy here! He says he’s from Black Hawk! An assassin targeting Helmut! He’s going to kill us all!”
‘This kid!’
Fasho threw his dagger in an attempt to shut him up, but Asuka dodged it by a hair’s breadth.
“Help!”
“Instructor, James is dying! Hurry, please!”
Andro also joined in, straining his stomach and raising his voice as loud as he could. It was the first time he had screamed like this in his life.
―Soldiers? Is that true? Everyone in the camp right now……
The next moment, the voice was cut off. Fasho’s second dagger had hit the crystal ball, breaking it.
“I’ll kill you all before the instructor arrives.”
Fasho’s voice was thin as he uttered the threat. Once again, flames surged from his hand.
There was no more time to waste. If the instructors arrived, killing Helmut as well would be impossible.
But these guys needed to die here, especially that commoner.
‘I’ll kill them and escape.’
That became his new plan. However, Asuka made good use of the brief moment he had.
Reaching into his robe, he pulled out a scroll and tore it towards Fasho, who was charging at him.
The scroll was a spell that created a vacuum in the targeted area. And the area Asuka targeted was right in front of him!
It was an expensive scroll. The magic’s effect was quite useful. Instantly, the air in the space vanished.
‘That’s it!’
Fasho’s movements were fast, making it difficult to find an opportunity to use it, but it worked perfectly once he did.
Vis manifestation focuses Vis on the sword, and dispersing it in an instant isn’t easy.
Because of that, Fasho couldn’t defend against the suddenly executed magic.
“Grgh!”
Suddenly, the air filling his mouth disappeared. The magic didn’t reach his lungs, but he was gasping for air.
Being unable to breathe and having no air are two different things. It felt like being hit in the head, and for a moment, his consciousness flickered. But there was no air to breathe in.
Stunned by the sudden strike, Fasho stumbled.
Asuka didn’t miss the opening. His eyes sparkled sharply. His Vis-charged sword flashed through the air.
‘I’ll cut his throat.’
If this guy comes again next time, Asuka will die. Living in fear of an assassin’s sword wasn’t an option. It was a perfect opportunity.
It was Asuka’s first time killing someone, but he didn’t hesitate.
Fasho quickly regained his senses. It was when Asuka’s sword was inches from his face.
Fasho realized the sword was aiming for his neck.
‘That can’t happen!’
Protecting vital spots is basic. Instead of his neck, Fasho offered his left arm. The arm, momentarily raised bis as a shield, blocked Asuka’s sword.
The pain from not being able to breathe was unimaginable. The pain in his arm was almost unfelt due to the breathing difficulty.
As his vision began to blur, air returned. Fasho gasped, sucking in the air greedily.
Asuka stood before him, ready to swing his sword again.
His arm was injured, but that didn’t matter. The weak expose themselves when they attack.
Fasho dodged the sword by bending his body flexibly and kicked Asuka’s abdomen with all his might.
“Cough!”
Asuka was thrown into the air. It was a blow that could rupture his intestines.
Crash! Asuka tumbled to the ground, coughing up blood. Each of Fasho’s attacks had been powerful, and until now, Asuka had narrowly avoided them.
“Be glad. You’re the first person I’ve truly wanted to kill.”
Fasho’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent. There was no longer any room for leisure.
However, in the next moment, Fasho’s body twitched. He turned his gaze towards the forest.
He saw trees shaking in the distance, quickly approaching from tree to tree with incredible speed. Helmut was coming back, unconcerned about revealing his approach.
Caught in a moment of conflict, Fasho was injured. To kill Asuka, now defenseless, or to leave as is.
His murderous intent was too strong to just leave.
Another’s decision helped him. Andro stood up, covering Asuka. His eyes were filled with determined resolve, and a sword in his hand.
The second in command, followed by the third.
“You’re lucky.”
Fasho spat out, turning his back.
He had failed. Fasho bitterly acknowledged this fact. But next time, he would succeed. Then, none of them would survive.
Clenching his teeth, promising a future encounter, Fasho kicked off the ground and disappeared. Even his escape was incredibly fast.
Less than two minutes after he vanished, Helmut landed at the campsite.
Thud! He immediately set down Dino on the ground.
James was barely stopping the bleeding, sitting down after losing a lot of blood. Asuka, who had fought just moments ago, was sprawled out on the ground.
Andro, who had rushed over, relaxed upon confirming Dino was alive.
Helmut, assessing the situation of his teammates at a glance, calmly asked, “What happened to Fasho?”
