Helmut: The Forsaken Child - H.F.C Chapter 4 (Part 1):
‘If I get injured, I might get poisoned too.’
Living in the Forest of Roots had given Helmut some immunity, but he didn’t know if the venom could seep in through a wound and make him lose consciousness underwater. He had to be careful.
Helmut carefully examined his body. Superficial scratches were nothing to his tough body.
‘Good.’
First, he made a cut in the vine so that the poison flowed out well.
Helmut first threw a pile of vines into the water. It was a moment when the water flow was high and then flowed.
The movement of the fish noticeably slowed down.
‘It seems to be working properly.’
Being underwater creatures, they probably didn’t have much immunity to the poison of the flower vines.
Helmut held the remaining vines and slowly stepped into the water. The water quickly reached his waist.
Even though they were twitching, the paralyzed fish could only roll their eyes and couldn’t attack.
Helmut calmly watched them as he continued walking.
When the water submerged up to his neck, Helmut swam with the vine tucked in his side. His body naturally floated on the water.
It seemed like he could cross smoothly like this.
However, as he approached the shallower point on the other side, his foot accidentally slipped.
-Splash!
With a loud noise, Helmut, who was about to collapse underwater, quickly lifted his other foot.
It was a chilling sensation.
Helmut hurriedly looked down. The ground cracked, and white teeth opened their mouths. It felt like waking up from sleep and seeing a ghost right in front of you.
The blood in his body cooled down.
Helmut urgently pushed the pile of vines he had into the water and beat on the water’s surface. He struggled and headed for the shore.
But the creature that swallowed the vine, chewing and swallowing it, quickly rose, it seemed that the venom didn’t work on the creature.
-Swoosh!
The strong current shook Helmut like a fallen leaf on the water’s surface. He barely managed to hold on and not get swept away.
His whole body stiffened in the torrent that hit him like a wave from behind.
A life-or-death moment!
-Splash!
Something heavy like a meteorite hit the water surface. A tremendous baptism of water hit Helmut. Helmut fell straight to the shore.
“Ugh!”
For a moment, his consciousness turned white due to the impact. The huge figure that had fallen onto the water’s surface shivered as if it had just awakened from sleep.
-Ah, refreshing!
Helmut, who regained his senses, spat out the venom-mixed water from his mouth. He straightened his shivering body and muttered with mixed feelings.
“Elaga?”
She was a huge leopard with a fierce magic power rising all over her body. The deep magic emanating from her body almost made the fish faint, and they scattered in surprise.
-What are you looking at? I came to take a bath!
Elaga’s tail slapped the water surface with a bang! There was no way Elaga’s body would be submerged at that water level. The valley where Helmut had been floundering looked like a shallow spring.
Elaga, looking down at her feet, opened her mouth wide.
– A fish I’ve never seen before. Looks tasty.
She put his head into the water. A cloudy splash like a water spray occurred. Soon, the green water surface turned a dark red color.
Elaga emerged from the surface again, licking around her mouth.
-Tastes decent.
While Helmut watched Elaga approaching, he clasped his face.
“Really, I almost died.”
His stiff body relaxed. His whole body ached as if he had been beaten. Helmut got up from his spot.
“Elaga.”
‘You were watching.’
Just as he was about to get a little emotional, Elaga cut him off.
-Why can’t you do anything on your own?
Disdain was evident.
-What are you doing? You can’t do anything alone.
The giant leopard pushed him with a thud. Helmut, who almost fell even with a slight push, frowned. his intention to say thank you faded away.
‘If you’re going to help, show up early.’
It would have been easier if he had crossed riding on Elaga. Helmut was disappointed.
But he didn’t say it out loud. If he said it, Elaga would get angry, thinking that he now considered him a ride.
“I’ll go first.”
Helmut, who waved his hand, left the spot as if nothing had happened.
-Do you want me to follow you now?
Elaga, who chuckled, soon began to move slowly
