Trying to maintain composure, the employee asked cautiously:

“Ahaha… You must have some amazing friends.”

“Excuse me?”

Lee Hyun tilted his head as if to say, “What are you talking about?”

Friends? What friends?

“You were given such a nice sword…?”

“Oh, I got this from the Tower myself.”

“?!”

For real?

The way the employee looked at him instantly changed.

That meant—he had cleared the 10th floor.

In other words, he wasn’t just a newly awakened hunter—he was experienced.

Now that she thought about it, his physique was great, and he did give off an unusual vibe.

‘Why would someone like that buy beginner-level gear…?’

The equipment he was purchasing now suddenly seemed odd.

After all, a hunter capable of defeating a Berserker Goblin wouldn’t normally buy absolute beginner gear.

He didn’t climb the Tower barehanded, did he?

‘H-how is he even alive?’

Her pupils trembled uncontrollably, but professionalism kicked in—she shouldn’t just stand there gawking.

“Uh… the purchase price for the Berserker Goblin Greatsword is 1.2 million won. Is that… a-alright?”

‘What’s wrong with her all of a sudden?’

Lee Hyun found her sudden panic strange.

Sure, the greatsword was a rare item, but there were more expensive things in the store.

Or maybe… she just really liked Berserker Goblins?

‘…That’s quite the peculiar taste.’

Having confirmed the unusual preference of an otherwise normal-looking clerk, Lee Hyun nodded.

The world is vast, and tastes are diverse.

“Yes, that’s fine.”

He had intended to sell it anyway.

And 1.2 million won was a fairly decent price.

Seeing his indifferent expression, the clerk racked her brain even harder.

Then, she suddenly landed on a theory that made perfect sense.

‘Aha!’

Why hadn’t she thought of it before?

Scolding her own foolishness, she smiled.

“You’re buying this as hobby gear, aren’t you~?”

Why shouldn’t a strong hunter buy cheap equipment?

Some hunters enjoyed dangerous sports, and in those circles, this kind of gear served well as protective equipment.

Plus, since you could stash it in your inventory, it was easy to carry.

Now it was Lee Hyun’s turn to flinch slightly.

‘Huh? Did I give myself away?’

He thought he’d picked inconspicuous gear, but she saw through him so easily?

Well, it was technically for “disguise,” so in a way, it could count as a hobby purchase.

He replied awkwardly.

“Well… something like that.”

Trying not to make it obvious.

Like he was just buying it for fun.

‘I’ll have to get more expensive stuff next time.’

‘Geez, I’ve still got a long way to go~’

Lee Hyun and the clerk both reached a mutually satisfying conclusion.

“Okay! Then I’ll process your payment for 4.2 million won, excluding the price of the sword!”

“Thank you.”

Lee Hyun handed over his card and completed the payment.

4.2 million… back in the military, he would’ve never imagined spending this kind of money, so his hand trembled a bit.

‘But I’m not Sergeant Choi anymore. I’m the One Shot!’

With quiet pride, he completed the transaction.

He immediately stored the gear in his inventory and turned to leave, but the clerk called out again.

“Excuse me!”

“…Yes?”

‘Did she figure something out?’

He worried for a second, but the clerk still wore a cheerful expression.

“Do you have a points number?”

“Ah, no. And I don’t really—”

“We’re running a double points event for new members! Want to sign up?”

“Well, now I kinda have to.”

Lee Hyun immediately registered with his phone number and completed the membership.

Double points couldn’t be ignored.

‘Not like I won’t be coming back.’

It was, he thought, a very satisfying transaction.

Back home, Lee Hyun tried on the gear again in his room to get a feel for it, then began studying the public floors.

He already knew the basics, but he didn’t want to do anything that might draw attention when he got there.

“For starters, asking someone for their ID is considered rude…”

It was a wonderful unspoken rule.

The vibe of the public floors could be summed up in one word: freedom.

No one pried into others’ identities. And if someone did, they’d get serious side-eye.

Even during trades, the system allowed IDs to be hidden.

And hunters couldn’t attack one another—it was a non-lethal zone.

Even if you swung a weapon, the system nullified all damage, like a practice range.

“You can form parties here too…”

Starting from the 11th floor, orcs—on a whole different level from goblins—begin to appear, and the clearing requirements also increase.

Because of that, most hunters prefer to form parties.

If the condition is to defeat 20 orcs, a two-person party needs 40 kills, a three-person party 60, and so on—but it’s still more efficient than solo play.

Also, to prevent what’s called “power carrying,” first-time clears are only allowed for parties made up of hunters with no prior clear records.

Even so, high-level hunters often re-run dungeons to help others for a fee—so-called “bus rides” still existed.

“Not that I’m going to join a party.”

Lee Hyun was, of course, a solo player.

Even if he set his ID to private, he couldn’t explain his rifle.

And even if someone invited him, he’d have to decline and say he already had a group.

Not that anyone would ask a guy wearing rookie gear to party up anyway.

But that wasn’t the biggest problem.

“The hell is with this thing showing ID alerts when people enter a floor?”

As long as someone’s on the same public floor, a system alert shows who enters which floor.

And even if you set your ID to private, this couldn’t be avoided.

It was originally meant to help track down scammers or those who did shady things and ran away.

People who didn’t care just ignored the alerts.

But what if something like [ID ‘One Shot’ has entered the 11th Floor.] popped up?

Someone would see it.

And before long, the entire public floor would be in chaos.

And it wouldn’t stop there. Someone would go outside and spread the news.

They’d say that One Shot had finally entered the 11th floor.

In the end, what Lee Hyun had to be cautious about wasn’t the orcs on the 11th floor—

It was the people he might encounter before and after clearing it.

Especially right after exiting.

Having finished his research, Lee Hyun came up with a plan.

‘…I’ll go in tomorrow.’

For now, the priority wasn’t clearing the floor, but making sure no one figured out he was One Shot.

Because for a sniper, nothing matters more than staying hidden.
